Well, I have finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Yay for me! I am a fast reader! I did it in under twelve hours, too - it was just that damn good.
The books are definitely getting darker and more mature as they come out. If you compare this one to the first or second one, there's a considerable difference.
Anyway, I'm going to rant about it for a bit. Here we go:
Okay, to start with... WHY SIRIUS!?!?!?!?!? He was so cool! *bursts into tears* It's not fair!
*sniffles more*
Anyway... other than that, it was kind of nice to see Neville getting more of a role. I enjoyed the DA class, even if it did earn them that awful woman as Headmistress. And the end was great, even with Sirius... *whines*
I especially liked Fred and George's pranks - and their little escape at the end. Those two were at their best in this one. I hope they're still going to have something of a role in future books. The fact that they - and Harry - had been banned from playing Quidditch was just... AGH! That stupid woman! I'm so glad they did what they did - that was great to read!
And of course, Harry dating Cho Chang... I found her really annoying in this book. I actually kind of liked her before, but now I'm glad he wound up NOT liking her any more by the end. She annoyed me. I thought it was kind of fitting at the end that she wound up with Ginny Weasley's ex-boyfriend. Hehe...
There wasn't much of Draco Malfoy in this book, but in my opinion that fight between him and Harry had been coming for a long time. About time! And the way he was insulting Ron... bah! I was cheering for Harry!
Also, it was kind of interesting that Ron was made a prefect... He didn't do much of that, though, did he? Hermione did a much better job - but, of course, that's to be expected.
I was so sad about Sirius, though!!!!! The next books *can't* make that up to me! He was too cool to die! *cries* It's not fair!
*sigh*
But other than that, it was a fantastic book. Even if everything did keep going wrong for Harry.
And... that's my rant. Not as long as some of my others, but long enough, I guess. The second book is still my favorite in the series.
They're all awesome books, though.
In other news, well, there is no other news. I worked a little bit on my one-shot, Parental Control, last night, but that's about it. Most of my day was devoted to Harry Potter.
Honestly, though, is anyone really surprised?
