Well, today is Jo's birthday, and I still haven't gotten her present... I know what I'm getting her, though, so that's okay. I'll head out when I'm done with this post.

And then I have an anime club meeting. So... yeah, I'm cutting it a little close.

Oh well...

Watched the first episode of Tamers last night with subtitles. It was very good, and the music is neat. Definitely better than the dub music, and I think better than 02 as well. They haven't changed a lot in the first dubbed episode, which is kind of nice to see. I generally prefer the original voices to the dubbed ones, especially in Ruki's case. And don't even get me started on dub names. Why on earth would they go with 'Henry' for Lee.

Ah, anyway. I think out of every season of Digimon, the basic storyline in Tamers is the best. Every time I watch the first episodes, I remember why I like it so much. A boy with an overactive imagination daydreams that his card game is real - and then suddenly it is. I wish *my* daydreams came to life when I was younger.

Of course, they'd probably be more trouble than they're worth.

I love Ruki's first appearance, too. Very cool. Of course, that's Ruki for you. I really like Ruki as a character - she's not a person who takes any kind of crap from anyone.

And Takato... "My Card Reader mutated". I don't know why, but that struck me as amusing.

Anyway, yeah. I enjoyed the episode. I recommend it.

Well, dubbing him as "Lee" wouldn't be too smart, considering it's his surname (even though they DID change that, too...). And that a whole load of people apparently thought it was the other way around (you haven't seen the prime of Tamers fandom if you haven't read fanfics mentioning "Mr. Jenrya"). Of course, with all the "could as well be Japanese" names around, giving the half-Chinese of the cast a pure English name might not have been the smartest thing, either...

I have problems taking non-dubbed Tamers seriously because of Takato's voice. It's scarier than his dubbed one.
