One of my Weiss Kreuz pet peeves
Okay, I'm going to rant again. But, hopefully, this won't get too long. I'm just... why is it always this way with Weiss fics? It seems like it happens all the freaking time, and I really hate it...
If there is someone to be left out, it is always Omi.
Why? I don't know. But, as soon as they realize they want three members of Weiss in there, it immediately becomes Youji, Aya, and Ken. It's not that they're being paired off in a way I don't like... but it's the part where Omi's shunted off to one side and treated as a non-entity. And he's the only one! The rest of them are in there just fine.
I hate it! I avoid these fics like the plague, because I think it's horribly unfair.
There was a new story posted on the mailing list of an author I really like. She's one of the few Youji/Aya authors I read, because her work is so insanely awesome. This time was going to be a Schu/Aya fic, with some other surprise pairings. I thought, 'Well, what the heck. She's a good author, I'm sure I'll love whatever she does.' And I'm sure there'll be lots of people who DO love it. But, it becomes immediately apparent in the fic that it involves Schwartz, and Youji, Aya, and Ken. That's it. Omi is mentioned once or twice. From what I saw while skimming the fic, he's not even in it.
I plan not to read it, no matter how good it's going to be. Why? Because Omi is my favorite character, and I hate it when that happens. It's like people think he's an unimportant character.
Bleh... I'm not ranting to say 'I want everyone to write the way I like it'. It's just... there's so much of it. I'm trying to vent a little here. He IS my favorite character, after all. I'd never try to tell another person how to write a fic, but I figure, I can always complain on my journal.
So... I'm complaining!
Poor Omi... It seems like he's overlooked so often. I wish there were more fics where he wasn't.
I should write some... and I won't overlook any of the other three, either.
