Top Five Anime Showdown - Part Three
The next piece of my top five anime showdown posts. Heh.
Princess Tutu vs Twelve Kingdoms
Reasoning: Again, this was a fantasy motif choice for me. I prefer the mysterious allure of the fairytale (or the supernatural imposing itself on everyday life) to epic fantasy. Always have. I love both, but I love fairy stories most of all.
This choice is going to seem strange because I chose Hikaru no Go over Princess Tutu and then Twelve Kingdoms over Hikaru no Go. It doesn't work logically - I just have it this way in my head somehow.
Victor: Princess Tutu
Princess Tutu vs Uninhabited Planet Survive
Reasoning: Uninhabited Planet Survive has more enticing characters. I love the characters of Princess Tutu, but I was absolutely captivated by the cast of UPS. I still love them. Princess Tutu concentrates more on its story, and it is a beautiful and well-executed story. But UPS is full of the actions and thoughts and development of its characters, and because of that it was a lot more of a joy to watch.
