I finally got around to watching an episode of "Orphen" - the anime that I radomly decided to buy Thursday night. It was good! I've only seen one episode, and it was somewhere in the middle of the series, but I like it so far! The main character is a guy named Orphen, who looks an awful lot like any number of anime characters. Mostly reminds me of either Ken Hidaka or Heero Yui - in appearance, anyway. He seems confident, hot-tempered, and impulsive.

The main female already annoys the hell out of me. She's got a high-pitched, annoying voice, she's a whiner, and she is utterly useless. Her name is Cleao, she's blond and has huge, vacant eyes, and I dislike her already.

There's another girl I've seen in there, who joined them at the beginning of the episode. Her name is Stephanie, and she was Orphen's former partner. She seems really cool - can read ancient runes, and is obviously studious and practical. (the glasses give her away) I like her so far.

The other person in the group is Orphen's apprentice, a teenage/young adult aged boy whose name is Majic. I like him, mostly because from what I've seen, I've come to the conclusion that he's got a thing for Orphen. Whether I'm right or wrong, he is certainly desperate for Orphen's approval. He has big eyes and blondish hair.

So far, I have absolutely no idea what's going on. There's some evil chick called Bloody August who took over the body of this sorcerer type dude whose name was Childman. (don't ask me, I think it's weird, too) And one of his apprentices is starting to suspect, I think. Then there's a dragon and two little guys who were at the beginning trying to climb a cliff, and a bunch of other people. All I know for sure is that Orphen and his group were trying to figure out how to use this magic sword so they can revive some girl. Or, someone female, I have no proof yet that she's human. I can't remember her name.

But, from what I've seen, I really like the anime. I'll have to watch another couple of episodes to see if I want to buy the first volume of 'Orphen' tonight. I hope they still have it up there.

Oh yeah, and I recognized Aya's voice actor in the ending credits. I had to rewind it to see who he played - it's someone named Flameheart, who it says on the back is an evil sorcerer. I haven't seen him in there yet, though.

I might have to put it on 'English Language Dialog' later, just to see how that is, too. Hehe.

I finished all the episodes of "Night Walker", too. It turned out to be not that great. I really don't like the little red-headed chick, and she was one of the key characters. I like the main character, but not enough to endure her. So I guess I won't be taping it after all. I might tape a couple episodes of "Orphen", though - just so I can take it to people's houses and show it to them.

But, that depends. After all, I've only seen one episode.
