Those crazy fansubbers
Just had to add this. I just finished watching episode 12... umm... the fansubbers must have been really, REALLY drunk while writing the subtitles for this... They messed up so many names it's not even funny. And it wasn't just once; it was through the whole episode.
First off... Omi. This one wasn't too bad, they just called him 'Oumi'. But his real name, Mamoru, was changed to Wei for some reason.
Second, Yohji again. Yanger this time. Good grief...
Also, Schuldig was Sutebi, and Crawford was Heifude. Persia was Beiluxia. The Takatori family, for some reason, because the Yuingulings.
As if that wasn't bad enough, they insisted on saying that Ouka was Huanghua.
Thank god no one called her by her full name during the episode. Huanghua Yuinguling. Wow. That's a mouthful. As it was, it was kind of ridiculous watching Omi scream out Ouka's name when the subtitles are trying to tell us he's saying 'Huanghua'.
I don't think I'll be watching that one too often. I miss a lot of the action when I'm trying not to laugh.
Random thought on episode ten: Does anyone else find it odd that Omi just oh so casually undoes the front of Ouka's shirt, slides it off her shoulder, bandages the wound - then puts it back on? No commenting? No trying to get a peek? No blushing?
My thoughts on the other members of Weiss in a similar situation:
Ken
"Ummm, I just have to take this part off, okay?" *blushing* "Oops. Ah... I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" *stares for a moment* Wow... Uh! I mean! All done!"
Youji
"Hmm, I have to bandage that shoulder. Well, this is going to have to come off." *strips off everything above the waist and cops a feel while he's at it*
Aya
*throws the bandage over* "Put it on yourself."
I have way too much time on my hands...

(Anonymous) 2003-01-26 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)You should have got 'Knight Hunters', which is what they dubbed Weiss Kreuz as here in the US. Subtitles are much better and they have a ton of interesting features on their DVDs.
I found your little writings on what the other guys would have done if they were in Omi's situation with a girl in episode 10. It is kind of weird that Omi didn't even blush... Another hint to convince me the guy's gay.

And yes, I believe that Omi is gay. He's only seventeen, though, so he's still a little confused. ^_~
