(no subject)

For those who haven't noticed, I have a new default icon. Izzy's take-over of this LiveJournal is complete! Now I have movie Izzy, manga Izzy, and anime Izzy. Mwahaha!

Errr... does anyone know how to put words onto the icons? Because I can't do it... I don't suppose someone could help me out with that, could they? I'd be grateful...

Anyway, as you may have noticed, I got my digimon manga - except for volume two. I'm still enjoying that very much. I've also been working on part four of No Such Thing. Hehe... this fic amuses me too much. I want to do another one where everyone goes out to a cabin by the lake for the day.

That should be fun. It'll probably be a one-shot, though. The plot I have in mind is pretty pointless.

Ah well.

Putting words onto icons is easy- you just open the image in MSPaint (or Paintshop Pro if you're lucky) and then you have a text tool to work with- but if you want, I'll put the text on there for ya. ~_^

It's no problem- which icon do you want it on, and do you have any idea what kind of font/color/etc.? ^^

Your icons are very Izzical :P And yes that is a word I made up....bout a year ago. Izzy is a noun, AND an adjective! XD

And utting words in icons? I just use my Pant Shop ro 7 text tool. And if I were to do it in MS Paint I think you could use a text tool there too. Although I want to learn how to make text like a lot of people have their icons as. o.0 My friend told me you use "Patriot" font and then you just color the inside of the text any color you want. << I'm gonna try it with my manga icons...

Mess up the pic? Does the text end up covering the subject of the icon? I usually stick text in a corner somewhere << and tinker around with fonts and sizes until it fits right.

My big problem with text is that in PSP I like using the gradient fills, so I have to experiment with gradients until I find a way to make the text legible in the icon o.0

And usually if I still can't read the text, I put a copy of the text behind it, a little under and to the right of the colored layer, in either black or white solid fill (depending on the backround). It gives it shadow and therefore for some reason you can see it better. My Art teacher taught me this last year (and it must be good advice, considering I was taking College level art XD)

Of course I dunno if you have Paint Shop Pro. But if you don't, I bet you could do something similar in MSPaint :P

Oh! So it's MS Paint?

I think there's an option to get rid of that nasty text box :P Under all of the tools, when you select the text tool, there's these pics that appear that show all these shapes in a yellow backround. I think you have the one selected that has a white box around the green cube thing o.0 click the pic under that to make the text box transparent. *tests this to make sure she's talking about the right box* yep. I realize I sound very confusing, but I have a hard time explaining things, I'm a visual learner and therefore I'm a visual teacher too. I would be better off taking print screens of my Paint window and showing the boxes that way o.0
