DVDs are here. Was happy. Well, sorta - I got volume 12 of season two instead of season one. But hey, that's the last volume of season two, so that's kinda cool. Unfortunately, my DVD player won't play them.
FUCKING STUPID PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING THREE FUCKING MONTHS FOR THESE!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE FUCKING WORLD!!??? STUPID FUCKING REGIONS CAN KISS MY ASS!!!!
That should about do it.
My parents want to buy my DVD player off me, so I'm looking for one that is region-free. So far no luck, although I'm waiting for a phone call back from one place. The guy there actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about, so at least that's something.
Bah.
Anyway, shockingly enough, I'm writing a Takeru/Iori fanfic. Blame Dragonflie. She makes it into such an interesting couple... Anyway, Takeru just had his five-year relationship with Hikari end. So it's not going to be a comedy. More like introspective with some angst. Should be interesting.
It's also named after this song. I really like the INOJ version. "If you're lost you can look and you will find me". I have deemed it appropriate.
And now back to brooding over my DVDs...

I don't know if you happen to live near a city with either a Chinatown or a Japantown, but those are the best places to buy region-free dvd players, in my limited experience. I got mine up in San Francisco's Japantown. It's a regular Pioneer dvd player with a mod chip in it to make it all region, and bypass the Macrovision copy protection.
I believe Apex used to make region-free dvd players that were commercially available, though finding one nowadays might not be so easy. It should say so somewhere on the box. Otherwise, you could try getting a dvd-rom and unlocking the region codes, though whether they've fixed that since the big fiasco that went on in the news about it two years or so ago, I don't know.
And if all else fails, my boss claims you can get one online from Hong Kong pretty cheap.
Good luck!

One store I went to said that they were getting some region-free DVD players in at the end of the summer, another said try some other places, and one said that no other stores would have them.
I'm waiting for a phone call from a guy at a store who said he was going to look into it for me. Bleh.
Thanks for the info on Chinatown! On my birthday weekend we're going up to a city that *does* have a Chinatown, so I can try and look around there if I can't find one here.
