I worked last night. Bleh. Actually, it was a pretty slow night - I didn't have too much to do, so I got everything done without worrying much about it. However, I got a few... slow... customers. It felt like I stole a piece of Lady Cosmos's life.
I actually had someone come in and ask me, "Is this washer here like my washer at home?"
Gee... I don't know. Why don't you bring your washer in so I can have a look at it? Ask a stupid question...
Then the next person who came in closed the washer door and started up the machine without putting her clothes inside first - and wondered why the door wouldn't open.
Lady, the machines load from the front - if you could open the door after it started, water would pour all over the floor. And, of course, she expects me to give her a refund. Um, no. Stupidity is not an excuse to get money from us.
When I first came in, there were clothes sitting in three machines. That was at four. At eight, they were still there, so I moved them in order to wipe down the machines. At eight thirty, the guy who owned all the clothing came in and wanted to dry his stuff.
Yeah. Right.
After I *politely* informed him that he had half an hour in which to do so, he seemed to decide that it wasn't worth it, and left ALL his wet clothes sitting in the carts - for *me* to deal with.
Thanks pal. I don't have enough to do already. I need more work.
So I called him some nasty names under my breath and stuffed his clothing into bags, with notes on top so people knew where it all came from. I take only minor satisfaction in the fact that by today, the clothes probably smell moldy.
Other than that, my evening went smoothly. At least I didn't have a lot of people underfoot when I was sweeping. I got everything done with a minimum of fuss.
I was glad to get home, though... my sisters were watching Lord of the Rings, and it was right at the Moria scene. Yay! I was happy to come home to that... and I re-read my birthday fic from Lady Cosmos. I love that story! It's so good!
So yesterday was a pretty good day. And hey, now that those people are out of my life (hopefully forever), I can find it humorous.
