My DVDs came yesterday! I had a busy day and didn't really get a chance to watch them until after work, but that's okay. I stayed up late last night since I don't have school today.
I do have to make one sheet of notes to take in to one of my exams tomorrow. And then I'll have to study for my other exam, but that's a review course for me so studying should only take an hour or so.
My DVDs are here!
Okay, so. The subtitles. They're not too bad - they haven't gotten Daisuke's first name wrong yet, but they turned Niwa into 'Danyu'. Hiwatari was mostly the same, but every now and then it was translated as 'Raiu', and Satoshi became 'Len'. Risa was 'Lisha' and Riku was 'Libony'. Can't remember what their last name became, but it wasn't Harada. Gotta love wackysubs. They're not TOO wacky, though - and after the first few episodes, the names seem to be translated more or less properly. And everything at least makes sense.
I already can't wait for Daisuke to fall for Riku - just because I dislike Risa so much. She's so *inconsiderate*. And both Daisuke and Dark love her. Bah. It's so much better in the manga when Dark loves Riku.
I've watched ten episodes so far, and Satoshi's back next episode! Yay!
Oh... speaking of Satoshi. There are three DVDs in the set, with three different pictures as backgrounds for the little holding area for them. The second DVD has a *really* nice picture of Satoshi and Daisuke, with white and black wings respectively.
It was so nice that I scanned it. You can find it on my page here - there's a link to it just about the links to my Digimon manga scans.
I would recommend going to see it. It's a very nice picture.

Definitely looking to get into some new anime right now. Curious to check out Haibane Renmei. Enjoyed eX-Driver alot. Know I need to finally see Evangelon one of these years.

D.N.Angel is about a boy named Daisuke Niwa who discovers on his 14th birthday that his family has a legacy. Whenever he experiences strong feelings of love (being around the girl he likes) he turns into Dark, a phantom thief with black wings. His counterpart is another 14-year-old, Satoshi Hiwatari, who turns into Krad, an evil angel-type with white wings. Daisuke and Dark more or less learn to get along, but Satoshi seems to hate Krad with a passion.
A lot of the story focusses on Daisuke's romantic life: his unrequited love for Risa Harada, who - ironically enough - falls for Dark when she sees him on TV. In the manga, Dark is in love with Risa's twin sister, Riku - in the anime, it's Risa again but only because she looks like their grandmother, Rika, did and he was in love with her back in the day. Riku thinks Dark is a pervert, but she does develop quite the crush on Daisuke.
Supposedly, when Daisuke falls in love with someone who loves him back, Dark will be gone. It doesn't exactly happen that way this time, though. ;)
