I gave in. I watched more of 'Hikaru no Go'. Is there anyone on my Friends list who *hasn't* seen this anime? Or who has and doesn't like it? If so, you've been quiet about it.

Yeah, so, I decided to cheat and downloaded the latest chunk of it - that 2004 New Years special thing. It was actually pretty good.

1. The characters have personalities with more than one side. I approve of that.

2. Waya's extremely cute. Anyone know any good Waya fanfiction?

3. How the hell do they make a game like THAT seem exciting?

4. Akira = Haku (Spirited Away) = Ken (Digimon 02) = Yuki (Fruits Basket). Do they have the same hair stylist?

5. I went in with the opinion that Hikaru and Akira are going to end up sleeping with each other, and saw nothing to challenge that opinion. If anything, I am even more convinced now than I was before.

All in all, it was good. I may just watch more some time.

And Waya is the cutest thing ever :D I luffle him and point me to good fic if you ever find any. I grew discouraged when nearly everything I saw was AkiHika.

And while I'll agree that the series really does push in the Hikaru and Touya getting together direction, I much more prefer WayaHika :D Call me an oddball - but I always seem to go for the less liked pairings.

Why blame you? :P Because you like it, and I value your opinion. That's why.

No fics with Waya? -_- Poor Waya. He's so cute...

I like Akira and Hikaru. ^^;; I knew you liked a different pairing, but couldn't remember which one. I don't know all of the characters, though.

Yeah...most people do. There's something about Touya that I just don't like. Don't ask me to explain it. It's just something about how perfect he is.

I can understand that. I feel the same way about Yuki from Fruits Basket, actually. ;) But I did like Akira.

I liked Isumi, too! ^^ He was cute as well, blushing at the camera like that... *grin* Not as cute as Waya, though.

The character dynamics and how certain characters grow up is one of my favorite things about it. Every one in the show is unique and well-developed in the personality department.

Um, yeah. I think I'll go cool my Hikago obsession in the fridge for the moment. But watching more is good.

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw a picture of him! Except that I'm not familiar with Yuki, and you left out Kouichi from 'Frontier'...there should be a cross-anime orgy. With aaaaall the boys who look like that..

Kouichi's a variation - his hair's not as smooth and silky-looking. ;)

I swear I've had this conversation with someone. Maybe it was Sugah? Anyway, they're all like brothers seperated at birth. Not that that isn't a reacurring theme or anything *cough*Digimon*cough*.

As for Waya fic... I know it exists with the pairings of either Hikaru/Waya or Isumi/Waya. I've read it. Now the real trick is going and finding it again. Until then, here's a little short about Waya that I really like. Just read the first part.

Brothers separated at birth... hm? Yes, yes, now it all makes sense. I see what has happened. They were all placed on different shows, that's all... That's why they've never met each other.

It's tragic, really.

Hee, hee, another soul for the faith! Now you have to see the entire series from the begining. It really is one of the best anime I have *ever* seen. The story and characters feel *real*, even though the main TV series has one fantastic element (a ghost). The characters grow up and age -- the animators age them so subtly you don't even realize it until it hits you that Hikaru and Akira have grown up from cute kids to teenage hotties.

As for Waya, he usually gets paired with Isumi in fanfics/doujinshi. There's a *lot* of SumiWaya (as the pairing is known) doujinshi out there -- almost as much as AkiHika. (I'm making both Waya and Isumi straight in the series I'm writing right now, though).

I might just see the entire series, but for now, I am cheating and downloading the last episodes. *hums innocently* And in my opinion, fanatastic elements only make an anime better. ;)

I liked Isumi, too. ^^ So I could live with that. Waya's just too cute, though, I love him. Honestly, I really liked the characters in this one. There weren't any they focussed on that I actually *hated*, although I came close to disliking Ochi after his match with Waya. But like all the others, he's not one-dimensional and I found at the end that I couldn't totally hate him.

By the way, I decided that since I had seen more of the series and got to know the characters a little better, it was time to go read your fanfics. ^_^ So I did that, and they were brilliant as usual. I'm not exactly an expert on the series, but I thought you did an excellent job. And you need to work on that series fic you only have one part of, hm? ;)
