I am trying to get music from RahXephon. It's taking a long time. Bah.

Oh well.

So yeah, I watched RahXephon yesterday, and it was very good! I like the main character, even though that girl with the floaty yellow dress who sings is very annoying. There were five episodes on the DVD... I'm at the point where Ayato is staying with the two sisters who work with TERRA.

Does anyone else think that soldier guy with the short black hair is a cutie? What's his name?

Eh... anyway, I want to see more of this one, too. So I'm going to have to eventually rent more of both anime. Even though this one gets confusing sometimes. There are points when I just don't know what's going on.

Ah well.

So I'll probably head up to Blockbuster again today (if they're open), even though I don't know if I'll be renting more Noir, more RahXephon, or more of both.

We'll see, I guess.

Very curious to see RahXephon, since it's another Yoshitoshi ABe project, and I count Serial Experiments: Lain and Haibane Renmei as my two favorite anime series ever. Still, I've heard that there's a lot more action and gore in this one. I read a little bit about it and it doesn't seem as if it would be as introspective as the other two I mentioned, so I'm not sure if I would like it or not. Yeah, I do like action but I like it to be in service of something deeper.

Oh, and Noir played #9 on Play's top 25 anime of 2003. I did an entry on it a couple weeks ago. Still hope to see it again sometime soon. Killing, angst, and girls kicking some ass -- and it's not Charlie's Angels, thank God.

I finished Expanding Horizons this morning. Great job. You should do a spinoff of it: either a Miyako/Hikari friendship fic or a Takeru/Iori fic. This was really nice.

Ayato is Gluhen Omi's heterosexual twin brother. *nod sagely*

And the opening (not sure about the rest of the music) is done by Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, to name a couple) which is why it totally kicks ass. But yeah... I do love RahXephon. Just beware of the manga. It has about as much to do with the anime series as the Gundam Wing manga had to do with Gundam Wing (which is to say: some story points in common, but far too shonen for my tastes).
