I'm so glad I don't work for four days now... Work is *evil*. I know I've said that before, but believe me, last night was pure hell.

First, I came in and there was way too much to do. Fine. So some of it doesn't get done. It wasn't all for that night. I finished the stuff that *was* for that night, and then started some of the stuff that wasn't. I hadn't counted on the laundry area being *insane* or on having twice as much tagging as usual to do. So I was behind already.

Now, when I came in, one of our big washers was broken. Whatever. So I couldn't use it. But AS I was working, trying to get stuff done, the OTHER big washer broke. The jail blankets were soaking wet, and I had to cart them out into the laundry area and do payouts to re-wash them there.

The laundry area stayed busy until about eight, while I was desperately trying to get my cleaning done on time. Most of the people were nice, so it wasn't bad, but it was still frustrating to clean a place and then five seconds later have someone get it dirty.

And then some guy comes in, four hours after my shift started, looking for clothing one of the girls transferred before I even came in. Of course, I hadn't seen it. It wasn't in the dryers like it was supposed to be. Not surprising, considering how busy the damn place was.

Turns out, the guy's clothing was GONE. We do have big signs saying 'We are not responsible for your clothing', which is especially true in this case since I never even knew his clothing was there. And four or five hours of leaving it there? That's just not smart.

But, of course, the guy is pissed off, and since I'm the only employee there, he has to take it out on me. 'You don't fucking know how to do your job! If I was your manager, you'd be fired for this shit!' Can't say anything, 'cause one: the guy's a customer, and two: he just lost a load of laundry. And that sucks. Then he starts harassing the other customers, poking his nose into the clothes they're folding and just generally being an ass.

I guess he's entitled since some of his clothes were just stolen, but it was pretty much the crowning glory on a wonderful evening for me.

In better news, I got some writing done yesterday...

Customers like that need to have something violent happen to them. Chances are if he were your manager, you'd all be out of a job b/c of his incompetence. Logic dictates you don't leave your clothes unattended for going on four/five hours. But then Logic and most of Society don't get along.

That's pretty shitty. People like that are annoying. At least, you have some time off now :D
