Well, life is pretty okay right now. I am writing again. Thank goodness. I get so restless when I can't write. It's really annoying.
Anyway, in anime news, I watched the 'End of Evangelion' movie yesterday. It was... interesting. Actually, I'm going to state that I didn't like it. The scenes with live-action people were *extremely* annoying, and I didn't like the ending. Everyone in the world dies? WTF...? And then there's the whole business with Shinji and Asuka. Now, I like Asuka, and Shinji's okay... but together? Can we say abusive relationship? No, no, no. I would've liked it if he wound up with one of the two angels that were talking to him at the end. Rei and Kaoru, I think. That would've been neat. But no, they left him on earth with just Asuka. Bleh. The only amusing point: Asuka pretty much made it clear that she wouldn't be with Shinji unless he was the last man on earth. And now he is. Hahaha! Take that!
Anyway. Yeah.
Next on my list: the rest of Candidate for Goddess. *That* is a good show.
I have a quiz today. I should really study for it...
Eh, whatever. I'll put it off right now. I'm really good at procrastinating. There should be a class on that; I'd get an A. Except that the teacher would probably never get the grading done. If he was an expert in his field he wouldn't, anyway.
I think I'm going to go eat my junk food. Mmm... chips and candy... yummy...

Sad thing is, that's life.
This is part of the reason I still cling to fairy tales and "happily ever after". I can be cynical at times, and when it seems like nobody can ever be truly happy, I turn to anime and fanfiction looking for something that says otherwise. I want to take that time, while I'm reading or watching, to pretend that everything can be okay for some people. To pretend that "love can conquer all" or some nonsense. I know it's not always true, but there are times when I just do NOT want to be reminded.
I'm not saying I'm against unhappy endings. I think deathfics and unrequited love stories and the like can be done beautifully. But I don't like unhappy relationships. There's too much of that in real life.
Period.
Re:
But I don't think that Asuka and Shinji would be unhappy together, either. I think they'd be real.

<-- SHOULDN'T
:)
Sometimes I'm on crack.
Anyway, I hope you weren't offended by my comments. I wasn't trying to say that you were wrong to dislike it, or cheap, or anything like that. Nor do I want to push you into accepting it just because I like it. It's just... it really is my favourite anime movie. I love it a lot. I couldn't not point that out, it would simply feel... disloyal!

Shinji and Asuka reminded me of too many relationships I've seen in real life. That's probably my problem. I don't like *real* stuff. I know a lot of people who do, I just... don't. :)
On the plus side, I really like both characters. ^^ Plus, the animation in there was great, and I loved the action. I just didn't like the ending.
I understand about defending your favorite movie. I'd feel the same way if someone I knew said they didn't like 'Princess Mononoke'. :)
Re:
Are you going to see Spirited Away in the theater? It should be out pretty soon in several big cities... I'm really itching to see that one.
