(no subject)

So I have a quiz today... I spent some time last time and again this morning studying for it. Feels like nothing's sank in, but I think I'll do all right. I won't fail, anyway.

Yesterday was a little busy - I finished Northanger Abbey, and got my program working and sent in to my teacher. I had a little bit of free time in between getting that done and work, too. Also, work was so slow... I brought my book with me, and finshed it while I was there.

I prefer those kind of evenings to the 'insanely busy' kind. Definitely.

The book I just finished was the last one in a trilogy I had loved when I was about twelve years old. I noticed that they were reprinted and available at the bookstore, and had to buy them - that was back when I still had the $100 Chapters gift card from my grandmother. Anyway, the books are 'Wren to the Rescue', 'Wren's Quest', and 'Wren's War'.

I really like these books, even though they're maybe a bit childish, because of the strength and development of the friendships. Back when I was reading them for the first time, I had suspicions that the arrangement of main characters - two male and two female - was a set up for romance. Actually, though, the only romance is the brief failed attempt between Connor and Teressa in 'Wren's War'. There are strong bonds of friendship between all of them, though, particularly Wren and Teressa and between the three original rescuers: Wren, Tyron, and Connor. They make for a fun read.

I'm glad to finally be able to own them.

I also - and you had to know this was coming - watched episode 50 of FMA yesterday.

Okay, so they just *mentioned* Churchill, but really. How'd Ed's dad end up being all buddy-buddy with the guy? Yeesh...

I really liked this episode - they didn't do badly with the early 20th century London business at all. I noticed other people mentioning it, but the scene after the zeppelin falls on Ed and he is trying to do alchemy to save himself - but of course can't in this world - is really poignant. I was impressed.

The fact that Ed was indirectly killed by the British government (they shot the zeppelin down right on top of him! Come on!) was already mentioned by someone, but I find it amusing enough to bring up again. Hah.

I liked the fight between Envy and Ed. Especially when Envy turned into Mustang. Did he honestly not know what kind of reaction that would get him? Envy's not as smart as one would think.

Ed's death scene was very cool, so even though they've killed my favorite character, I can come to terms with it and say that at least he went out with a bang.

If he's still alive, they'd better do a good job with that, too. It doesn't matter too much exactly what happens as of right now, but if it sucks, then I'll be annoyed.

I hope someone kills Envy, though. The guy's gotta go, that's all there is to it.

Can't wait to see how Mustang deals with Pride. Doesn't look like he's doing too well at the moment. Did he not come prepared at all?

Random notes: Gluttony is creepy. What's up with Wrath's (Ed's?) limbs? Hohenheim rotting away in our world is going to cause some concern. Dante is still batshit. Rose should've been screaming a very long time ago. I feel very sorry for Al. And when the HELL are they going to kill Archer already?

Very nice episode. I like.

I'll be very interested to see how they finish this series up in just ONE more episode.

I love your comments...so random...

I agree with you wholeheartedly with Envy. He must DIE!! But then...he's always been at the top of my list....

I also have similiar sentiments with you regarding Ed's death. I can deal with him being dead if they do the last episode right. But, I was wondering if he actually isn't going to die, how they were going to do that too. Ah, well.
