silverthunder: (Nicol - Never forgotten)

(no subject)

I finally managed to get my hands on the song that Nicol is playing on the piano... Yay! It's such a pretty song. I'm enjoying it. Seems very sad, though.

I guess that's understandable.

Now if only I could find Akatsuki no Kuruma...

I have a sore throat now. It was just a cold with a bit of a scratchy throat yesterday and the day before that. It's actually sore now. I'll probably have to skip belly dancing, because the idea of exercise is not appealing.

Margh... oh well...

Maybe I'll just go for the end.

Saw Jeremy last night for a little while, and we watched four more episodes of Gundam Seed. So we've been through the first eight. As of right now, he likes GW better as well, but that might change.

The problem with Gundam Seed is that it introduces too many characters right at the start. It's hard to keep track of them.

Ah well. Such is life.

If you think Seed is bad about that, wait until you try to watch Gundam Seed Destiny. I say "try" because we stopped somewhere around episode 10 in the hopes that if we collected enough fansubs before our next viewing, maybe it'll get interesting enough to continue. (I'll note we had to do the same thing with Gundam Seed the first time, though Seed hooked me much faster - Destiny is spending far too much time on Athrun and Cagalli when they've introduced at least another 10 characters that are getting practically zero screen time.)

Glad to see I'm not the only person who sputtered out on Destiny. Everything about it just seems so *flat* -- the plot, the characters, even the mecha. Hell, even the canon characters seem to be pale shadows of their former selves.

I think part of the problem is there's no big central conflict in this one -- the original SEED turned on the relationship between Athrun and Kira and how they were forced to be on opposite sides of the war. There's no such thing here, just a lot of vague . . . stuff.

Took me awhile to keep track of everyone, too. I was thinking of Le Kleuze as "Not!Zechs" almost until the end, and a couple of times I had to refer back to the big SEED article they had in Newtype USA. (Dearka is another character whose name kept eluding me, for some reason).

You'll find a present in your galaxy_girl34@h box... let me know if you need it sent to a different place.

These places weren't where I found that... but they're worth a look:

The second one you need to create a username and password for... but it's very simple.
