Help?

This post has two purposes. One, to show of one of my two new icons. And two, because I would like to ask for help from anyone on my friends list who is experienced with making layouts for LJ.

I want to make a really cool layout for my LiveJournal... Because, well, I figure as long as I'm going to be paying for it, I might as well make it look as nifty as I can.

So, does anyone know how to do this? Just the basics, even? I'd really appreciate the help if anyone can offer it. Please?

If you've got a paid account, I'm pretty sure you can make any normal HTML website and just add in journal codes (which was pretty easy to do with Blogger, at least). Else, you can use the "customize" setting when you've logged in and chose between several default layouts and mess around with colors/fonts/text, sometimes also backgroumds.
Finally, you can use overrides (more here (http://www.journalhelp.com/overrides.html)) which from what I remember is a lot like coding style sheets for normal websites.

Thanks for the help! I gave my journal a bit of a new look. It's not very exciting, but I prefer plain and pretty.
