I did go and see Star Wars last night - I figured it was better than hanging around home and trying to keep busy and randomly feeling sad. Prince was a good dog. We had a lot of good times with him. He was very old, and obviously wasn't very comfortable - he's in a better place now.
My sister and her boyfriend are visiting, too... It helped that since she hasn't been home in a while, she was able to handle the news better than the rest of us.
Anyway, Star Wars wasn't great. It had its moments, and of course the effects were awesome, but yeah. The writing was bad, the acting was meh, and the pace was horribly rushed. THIS movie could've been three movies.
A Sum-up of the Star Wars tragedy:
Anakin: I fight for what's right. I believe in justice and truth.
Palpatine: Turn evil.
Anakin: Okay!
The indeterminite passage of time:
Padme: I'm pregnant.
*two weeks later*
Padme: I'm giving birth.
Inconsistency:
Padme: *dies in childbirth*
Obi-Wan: Wait... didn't Leia say she knew her mother?
Lucas: No one will notice.
Fans: OMGWTF, that's WRONG!
I may be exaggerating, but not by very much.
I think my AMV is finished. I need to watch it again and stuff... Might be a while, I don't know. I'll post here when it's ready to be shared.
And, to everyone who replied to my last post with sympathy, thank you. I really appreciate it.

Could've been because I had a headache through the whole movie, though. ;)

I'd read your comments so perhaps I entered with lowered expectations. That said, of the three new films, this by far was the best.
Aside from the Padme dying thing and Anakin's "Jump, Master? How high? What? Oh... kill. Right. Kill. Okay. How many?"
The only other big thought that was running through my head was: Why didn't somebody sit that boy down and explain about human anatomy? Not only does big, (arguably) blond, and stupid need a refresher on where babies come from, he also needs a clue that women have been giving birth for eons and with space ships, droids, and ... By Golly! MEDICAL DROIDS! ... death by childbirth should be quite rare.
If one looks at the number of adult deaths attributed to childbirth in industrialized nations, they'd see that it's very, very low. And we don't even have bacta tanks!
Anakin can survive losing three limbs and near incineration, but poor widdle Padme can't possibly do what her body's designed to do, even with an entire platoon of medical droids standing by.
This, my friend, is what can create the rage necessary to turn a regular yaoi fangirl into an mpreg writer.
Dear Digital Deities, slay the evil plotbunny now before it grows up, destroys the galaxy, and has to be redeemed by its own child.
