Everyone knows of the magical girl genre - is there a magical BOY genre?

The only one I can think of is Kyou Kara Maou.

Hmm... I'm not sure if Kyou Kara Maou qualifies as a "magical boy" anime. It's more of a light-hearted mockery of the "magical world" anime, where girls are sucked into a foreign world and become the focus of everyone's attention, surrounded mainly by hot guys. Examples are Escaflowne and Fushigi Yuugi.

A magical girl (or magical boy) anime is more like Sailor Moon or Card Captor Sakura, where the heroine (or hero) gains magical powers that can be used to fight evil. There is always a transformation sequence, a mascot, and a love interest (who often starts out as a rival).

Couple of good suggestions there. I think I heard the Loki is sort of like that as well. (I didn't get past the first episode, so I can't say for certain.) D.N. Angel definitely, though. I don't remember if you've seen it or not, but if you haven't, you owe it to yourself to go get it now and watch it. ^_^

I've seen about 5-6 episodes of Loki, and all of D.N.Angel (plus I'm collecting english manga volumes). They were the only two that came to mind for me, but I don't know if two series qualifies as a genre. I've never heard anyone speak of a series as a 'magical boy' series, but there are 'magical girl' series everywhere.
