Well, I got a bit of a surprise today. Totally unexpected.

My mother just dropped off my mail to me at work, and there was a package from Geneon Entertainment. I'm thinking 'wha?' because first of all, I haven't ordered anything recently, and second... *Geneon*? What would I order from them?

Anyway, I opened it up and it's a DVD. With a note. Saying 'You have been nominated to receive a free copy of 'Fighting Spirit (aka Hajime no Ippo)' by your friend Sailor Mac' (or something along those lines).

My reaction was something like '... I was?'

So... yeah. I have a new DVD. Thank you,

sailormac! I'm still a little dazed and confused but hey, that's really cool. I'm not sure how that system works, but it seems very generous to send a complimentary copy of a 5-episode DVD to someone who hasn't even purchased anything from them.

What was going on was this: One of the Geneon executives made an offer to members of the Hajime no Ippo message board, Dynamite Glove, that they'd send free Ippo DVDs to three friends of all members if we sent them their names and addresses. I figured you were someone who'd enjoy the series, so I passed your address along! Hope you like it!

Ohhh, I see! Thanks for thinking of me! ^^ I'll definitely give it a try some time soon and see how it is.
