Help finding DVDs...

I have a request, if anyone is willing and able to help. I'm looking at a really cute looking (but old) magical girl series called Saint Tail. All that seems to be available for purchasing the series is separate DVDs, which I hate collecting (particularly since buying the whole series at once would put me over $200 - but I'd be way more willing to spend that amount on a nice box set than individual DVDs from individual sellers on ebay or something).

Does anyone know of any hard-to-find or out-of-print box sets? Or is there anyone selling the whole set of DVDs at once? Please tell me if you know anything!

The only "box set" that was released were the last 21 episodes in one set -- there isn't even a dub track on those DVDs. Well, and the first DVD had been packaged with the first volume of the manga, once upon a time.

Other than that, there was no official box set -- TokyoPop almost even cancelled the series.

I'm not really sure where you might be able to get the DVDs of the series...

They have the DVDs listed at Discount Anime DVD, but I don't know for sure if I can get them, since they're listed as 'backordered'. I sent them a message to ask about that. Ebay has a bunch of copies of the box set of volumes 6-8 (I'm assuming these are the last 21 episodes you were talking about) and some scattered other volumes as well.

I'm not really interested in a dub track, just the series on DVD. It's nice to have a box set, but if there isn't one, I'll probably try to order the series in individual DVDs.

They might be out of print is the one problem. I still need to pick up volumes 4+5, personally. And yeah~ Those are the last 21 eps I'm talking about. "The Enchanted Collection."

I'm just mentioning it because that's how they were at the end... Didn't even want the effort for the dub tracks. And it is nice to have box sets... Wish there was a set, but sadly, only the last three volumes. Also, those last three weren't released in anything other than that box set, so it's sadly awkward having individuals and then a box set. At least... for me it is. >>;

I can't be of help, but EEE. Saint Tail is so cute. I only read some of the manga, but I remember adoring it so much.

I know! It looks adorable! I watched an episode on YouTube and it's just so cute and fun looking! The animation reminds me of Card Captor Sakura too, which is another point in its favor. Hee. :)

The manga is very worth it! I very much suggest it. My copies are so worn from reading over and over again~ It's one of my favourite manga ever.

...I'll stop Saint Tail dorking over this entry. I swear.

I'm having trouble finding the manga too! Sheesh! This series is hard to find...

I can buy volumes 4, 6, and 7 on Ebay, and it looks like there are some sellers on Amazon who have them. I'll have to look into that, because I'd really like to get into this series!

If you love it so much, I'm sure it will be worth the hassle. ;)

Well, the manga is out of print and all... so, kind of expected, I suppose?

It's just such a cute and lovable series. Makes me want to revive my icons of it, even if they were crappy scans. >>;

I just have to note... between the Amazon marketplace and ebay, I found all 7 volumes of manga and ordered them. I've also found everything except volumes 1 and 2 of the DVDs (I have those ordered from Discount Anime DVDs, but they're backordered so I'll be watching ebay to see if any come up as available right away).

That's about $250 later... but yeah. I will have the whole series!

Awesome to getting it all, ouch on the price! Even so, I hope you find the series very well worth it as I do! :D
