Just to reiterate, I'm not planning on leaving LJ, even with the recent unpleasantness. I probably won't update tomorrow, but my update schedule is sporadic at best and I probably won't have anything to put up anyway, so it's no inconvenience to me.

So, yeah. For the time being, I'm staying with LJ. The loss of the basic account thing sucks for new users, yeah, and the fact that they didn't say anything about it is also pretty retarded of them, but it looks to me like InsaneJournal is even worse, so there's no point in leaving.

At least not for me.

See, some people have actual reasons for not going to IJ. I just really disliked this one person who then turned out to be one of its loudest missionaries after strikethrough.
... still taking part in the strike, though. If nothing else, so because I don't like the tone of the KGB.

Nothing major. You can't sign up for a 'basic' account any more (which was the free account with no ads). So it's either pay LJ money or have ads on your journal. Which is no big deal, and they're not changing basic accounts that already exist or anything. The thing people didn't like is that LJ made the change and didn't tell anyone about it.

Personally I don't really care much, but that's because it doesn't effect me and I never found ads all that offensive in the first place.
