MANGA/ANIME/GAME Meme - ganked from [livejournal.com profile] nighteevee
- talk about the title
- add one title

* Naruto
I've only watched about three episodes, plus what I've seen over my shoulder as Cody watches the new stuff. I've never really found it all that interesting.

* D.Gray-man
I read scanlations for the manga a few weeks before the anime was released. I liked it because it seemed similar in a way to FMA. Plus it has fun characters, a neat plot, and slash potential. What's not to like? I've been keeping up with the North American releases of the manga, but I have stopped following the anime. To be honest, I'm not keen on all the filler. I did watch a few episodes from the more recent stuff, but as I've mostly been distracted away from DGM by other series, I still haven't really gotten back into it.

* Prince of Tennis
Watched about 10 episodes and decided it wasn't for me. I have no desire to watch any more. The main character continues to piss me off royally.

* BLEACH
I've seen episode one subbed and a few random episodes dubbed on TV, but never really sat and watched it for a while. I might some day, but for now I'm not that interested in seeing more of it.

* One Piece
Absolutely no interest.

* Mobile Suit Gundam
I've watched Seed and Wing. I don't really have any interest in any of the others. Wing was my favorite. I'm not a huge fan of war anime, but there was a lot of psychological in there that kept me interested. I love the characters, too. Seed... had waaaaaay too many characters, and I didn't feel all that strongly attached to any of them. It was all right, but not great. Had some interesting stuff going on, though.

* Final Fantasy
I've seen the two Final Fantasy movies that were released over here, and I play Final Fantasy XI. What I've seen is pretty cool.

* Neon Genesis Evangelion
I never got into the series. I watched the End of Evangelion movie and didn't care for it. The actual series itself never interested me.

* Dragon Quest
Not sure what this is

* Black Cat
Looks kind of interesting, but I dunno if I'd ever seek it out.

* Gakuen Heaven
I've watched two episodes. It's kind of boring. What is it about yaoi series and skimping out on character development in favor of a million cliches? There are exceptions, yeah, but they are largely outnumbered.

* Dragon Ball
I've seen several episodes of Dragonball Z... that's about it.

* Hunter x Hunter
This series was addicting. I really enjoyed the storyline. I did not, however, enjoy the latest arc of the manga. It smacks of "crap, I have all these storylines and don't know what to do with them. Let's stall for time with something new and completely unrelated to the plot". I want to see this series end with some resolution for all the goddamn open ends. The anime was a lot better than the manga - it polished up a lot of the rough edges.

* Gintama
Never heard of it.

* Death Note
This series sadly went into a lot of 'and then's. It was totally entertaining at first, but after a while it got a little frustrating. I skipped much of the Near/Mello half, and just read the ending. I liked the ending - it was what I expected, and it made complete sense. But I felt a lot of the junk in the middle was pointless.

* Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro
Never heard of it.

* Shoujo Kakumei Utena
I was never interested enough to check this out.

* Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)
Looks interesting, but I wouldn't seek it out.

* Eureka 7
I saw a little of this on TV. Not really my thing.

* Meitantei Conan
I don't care much for the animation style.

* GANTZ
Don't really know anything about this one besides the title.

* Rozen Maiden
I meant to watch this series, but haven't gotten around to it.

* BLOOD+
Not really interested.

* Sailor Moon
I've seen some of the english episodes, and I started watching the series subbed, but haven't gotten very far yet. I keep getting distracted by other series.

* Howl's Moving Castle
I really enjoyed this movie. I know it wasn't much like the book but I don't care. It was a fabulous watch.

* Katekyo Hitman REBORN!
Never heard of it.

* Ouran High School Host Club
The crack in this series is wonderful. The heroine is fabulous in her disinterested-ness. I still haven't finished the last few episodes, though.

* Nodame Cantabile
Never heard of it.

* Kingdom Hearts
It looks cute, but I don't play video games, so... yeah.

* Persona
Never heard of it.

* Lucky Star
This looks kind of fun and crack-filled. But I haven't watched it beyond the opening video.

* Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
Never heard of it.

* Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Cody adores this series. From what I've seen of it, it seems to have a lot of energy and the music is catchy. I never got into it, though.

* Gravitation
I watched this because it had canon yaoi. That is... totally not really what this series is about, but that's the reason I downloaded it. It's got some nice crack and some pretty darn disfunctional relationships. Damn, it was a fun ride!

* LOVELESS
Absolutely 0 interest. I've seen a little of it, and don't like it. Not my thing at all.

* Ah! My Goddess!
It looks kind of boring.

* Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou
Never heard of it.

* Samurai 7
Not interested.

* Samurai Champloo
Not interested.

* Peacemaker Kurogane
I was interested at one time, but I don't really want to watch it any more now.

* Air Gear
Don't know what it's about.

* Mononoke
Never heard of it.

* DOGS
Never heard of it.

* Code Geass
It looks pretty, but I don't really know what it's about.

* Ookiku Furikabutte
Never heard of it.

* Fullmetal Alchemist
I love this series. I love the manga more than the anime, although the anime is colorful and pretty. I thought the manga storyline was more interesting. The one thing I wanted to see happen at the end happened at the end of the anime, so I am satisfied with that. I hope it happens in the manga, too. But not the same way as in the anime.

* Fullmetal Panic!
I intend to watch this eventually because it's one of Cody's favorites and looks kind of neat.

* Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu
More crack than any other series I have seen. It was a fun series. I like the main character and the title character most when they are intereacting with each other, because they make great foils.

* Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
Never heard of it.

* Kaze no Stigma
Never heard of it.

* DOLLS
Never heard of it.

* Azumanga Daioh
This is utter cute. And funny in a harmless, adorable way. I adore this anime. And the manga. A series I can rewatch any time and love.

* Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto
Never heard of it.

* Black Blood Brothers
This is another one Cody was watching that I never had any interest in. He didn't finish it either.

* Chobits
I haven't seen it, and I don't really plan to see it (or read it) but I've heard good things about it.

* Chrno Crusade
I watched a few episodes of the anime but never really got into it.

* Darker than Black
Never heard of it.

* Digimon
My first anime, first fandom, and the holder of a special place in my heart (as I've said many times before). This mostly applies to Adventure and partly 02. Tamers was awesome too. Frontier was okay. I didn't watch Savers - I got one episode in and never watched any more.

* Pokémon
I watched this series for maybe half a year before I realized it was just the same thing over and over - and I was bored with that same thing. The main characters are so static it hurts; they never grow much, physically or mentally. They seem to, but then the same things repeat again and again and you realize they didn't. The fandom was fun, though.

* DN Angel
I am following the manga as it is released in North America. I really enjoy it. I also own a box set of the anime series. I liked that too.

* Elfen Lied
Supposedly this is good, but I think it would be too angsty for me.

* Eyeshield 21
Don't really know what it's about.

* Fruits Basket
I haven't read the manga, except the very end - which I adored. I was so happy with the conclusion; it gave me warm fuzzy feelings. The anime was a lot of fun too. I'm tempted to buy a box set, but I'm not sure if I'm still as into it as I once was.

* Ginga Nagareboshi Gin
Never heard of it.

* Ginga Densetsu WEED
Never heard of it.

* Ghost Hunt
I adore this series. Supernatural - love. Mysteries - love. Fun characters - love. Supernatural mysteries with fun characters - OMG LOVE.

* Great Teacher Onizuka
Not really interested.

* .hack
I got about 15 episodes into .hack//Sign and never watched the rest.

* InuYasha
I can't get into this series. Tried once. It doesn't work.

* Lovely Complex
This looks cute. I doubt I'll watch it, but it looks cute.

* Mermaid Melody
Not really interested.

* NANA
I'm thinking about watching this one. A little iffy on the animation style.

* Papa to ♥ KISS IN THE DARK
Never heard of it.

* Princess Tutu
This one is in my top five series of all time. The theme is wonderful. The story is wonderful. I love the characters. The fact that it's a fairy tale brought to life is just awesome, too.

* Romeo x Juliet
Not really interested.

* Pretéar
I really had fun with this series. I love the main character and thought the plot and the side characters were interesting. I could've used a lot more episodes with further character exploration (particularly a lot of the side characters, who I'd love to have seen more of).

* Suki na Mono wa Suki Dakara Shou ga nai!!
This is Suikisho... right? It was an ok series. Not great. Women don't exist, I assume. Everyone's gay.

* Kyo Kara Maoh!
I really enjoyed this series, but never finished watching it. I have the first season on DVD but I haven't even started the second season.

* Tokyo Mew Mew
Sorted interested, but not enough to look it up.

* Fushigi Yuugi
I've read episode summaries. This looks incredibly overdramatic, convoluted, and I really don't want to watch it.

* Sensitive Pornograph
I have this burned onto DVD for me by a friend, but have yet to watch it.

* Kirepapa
Never heard of it.

* Togainu no Chi
Never heard of it.

* Lamento
Never heard of it.

* Trinity Blood
Not really interested.

* Vampire Knight
Never heard of it.

* Soul Eater
Never heard of it.

* Junjou Romantica
Never heard of it.

* Amatsuki
Never heard of it.

* BLASSREITER
Never heard of it.

* Crystal Blaze
Never heard of it.

* Druaga no Tou ~the Aegis of URUK~
Never heard of it.

* Itazura na Kiss
Never heard of it.

* Kanokon
Never heard of it.

* Macross FRONTIER
Not really interested.

* Monochrome Factor
Never heard of it.

* Wagaya no Oinarisama
Never heard of it.

* xxxHOLIC
This is a really cool story. I haven't watched/read as much of it as I should. I will probably start collecting the manga at some point.

* Nabari no Ou
Watched one episode at the recommendation of [livejournal.com profile] herongale. It didn't really catch my interest. Not sure if it gets better, but I haven't been motivated to watch any more.

* Monster
Never heard of it.

* Wild Adapter
Never heard of it.

*Vision of Escaflowne
I wasn't interested in it when it first came out, but now I am. I'm watching the series (on episode 3, currently) and ordered a box set of it. Looking forward to more.

*Baccano
Never heard of it.

*Slayers
I've watched most of it. It's cute and funny but it'll never be a favorite.

*Hikaru no Go
Another one of my top five. This series is truly excellent. It's a slow build-up, sure, but Hikaru's coming of age is a great emotional journey. Particularly at the end. But then, there really is no end. I love it.

My contribution:
*Mushishi
One of the best series out there. It's episodic, but watching Ginko drift from place to place is still great fun. I enjoyed the sense of the not-evil not-good supernatural. Gorgeous scenery, too. Love this show.
