Last Airbender movie

So, there are two new versions of the Last Airbender trailer out (note that they are the same as the first trailer but with new scenes added in):

Both of them have a tiny bit of the Katara and Zuko fight, which makes me happy! I have hope now that they're not damning Katara to token weepy love interest girl. I still have mixed feelings about this movie, but that makes me feel somewhat better. The second trailer also has some Zuko vs Aang action in it, too, which is kind of cool. I assume that's right at the beginning as it looks like they're on the ship. Almost looks like Aang's firebending. Hah!

I did a double take when Aang speaks at the end, because whoa... doesn't sound like him at all. Not that it really matters. I don't much care what he sounds like, as long as he smiles at least ONCE in the movie. Bonus points if he laughs and maybe the movie will even succeed if he's a complete dork like he is in season one.

I've also decided that I am utterly infatuated with Dev Patel as Zuko. It might almost make up for my disappointment in the Sokka actor. But I'm still reserving judgement until I see the movie.

Oh, there's also a Japanese trailer out for the movie, and I think it makes the movie look a lot cooler than the NA trailer does, even though I have no idea what they're saying:

Yay for cool trailers! I'm so excited about it now.

We should totally cosplay for the opening day of the movie. I'm sure we can come up with something that is not expensive and looks cool if I put our heads together and hit up the thrift stores. :D!!

I watched Avatar for a minute... and if Aang is not a ridiculous kid who laughs at everything, then this movie is not Avatar. Because Aang is :D not :|

I really want to cosplay as Toph even though she's not in the movie. But maybe I'll do Katara. Her costume doesn't look that hard to do.

He is :| in a few episodes, but yeah, mostly :D Especially in season one, which this movie is based on.

You should totally watch moooooooooore Avatar. Because it's awesome and I know you would love it.

Hm... the only other two females characters to cosplay as in season one would be Suki and Yue. Neither costume looks simple enough for me to make by July while also planning a wedding and putting together cosplay for AE. XD

I would love to do it, but I dunno if time is going to allow for it. We should totally talk about it, though! Maybe we can think of something simple.

I'm still feeling disappointed, but I think that it might be that my disappointment was cemented by things MONTHS ago and it's just too bad to fix it now. The lame thing is that I do NOT think I will be impressed with this as a movie adaption of the TV series (but I'm going to the damn thing, goddamnit, with free tickets from Tracii), but if I'd never seen Avatar and saw the new previews, I bet I'd think it was cool and want to see it. It's like... What the hell is wrong here? Awesome previews and my brain is stiff "Ffffff *angry*"

Haha, yeah, and Yue's hair would be hard to do in a wig. She has a fairly elaborate hairstyle.

There is no one on Avatar who I could cosplay without a wig. Unless I wanted to shave my head and go as Aang, that is. XD

I have a feeling I'm not going to be impressed with it either, but I just have to go see it. Maybe if I don't think of it as being a direct remake of Avatar, but rather as something vaguely based on Avatar... XD Ehhh.

We'll see. But the casting choices really have me going >_>
