Yami no Matsuei!!!!!!
Hehehe... well, I was expecting to get my manga today, so that wasn't really a surprise, but I also got my 'Descendants of Darkness' DVD. Score!
Finally, I get to hear the dubbed voices! And, actually, they weren't bad. I even enjoyed Tsuzuki's, though the guy can't really hope to match his Japanese counterpart. (how can you possibly have a better voice than Youji?) And I *liked* Watari's brittish accent. Hehe. Tatsumi's voice was just good. Even Hisoka's did a good job, though it takes a little getting used to. He sounds about ten years older than he did in the original. The only one I didn't like was Muraki's. Blech. Stereotypical villain, much?
Talking about having to adjust... The Gushoushin???? Whose idea was it to give them DEEP voices? I can't get over that.
I've only watched one episode, but my favorite line so far was from the preview for the second episode, when Tsuzuki suggests that he and Hisoka take a break to get some lunch. Hisoka says "We *just* *ate*" in this perfect frustrated tone. I couldn't help but snicker. The english voice actors really managed to get the characters down.
Anyway, I was impressed. And I am very pleased with the DVD. I think it was well worth purchasing.

no subject
And no, you can't beat Miki Shin'ichiro. X3
Hrm... darn you. You make me want to buy the thing... but no. I can just as easily steal heechan's Engrish fansubs again. XD
*grin*
I love the DVD. I'm among the apparent minority in thinking it was a pretty decent dub. I'm looking forward to the next DVD, which has a street date of a week from today. Knowing me, I'll end up running around this weekend trying to find someone who has it and is breaking street date to sell it. ^_^;; I'm such a shameless fangirl.
Re: *grin*
I *really* like the dub.
And, hey, if I thought I could possibly find someone who might sell it before the street date, I would definitely be out hunting right now. ^^ Unfortunately, I live in an anime-deprived hick town, and have to order just about everything online anyway.
Darn it all...
