Is anyone shocked that I went and downloaded episodes 66 through 70 of Hikaru no Go? If so, you must not know me very well.
All right, I admit it, I love the show. It's very good. Truthfully, I didn't like the first two episodes I watched, because the main character struck me as very annoying. So I listened to people talk about it and talk about it, and finally decided 'Okay, whatever, I'm going to watch the ending of this, just to see what all the fuss is about.'
You have to understand, I was expecting to see an obnoxious little twat, not a cute bishounen. Complete with a couple of cute friends and a heated rivalry.
I haven't been a rivalshipper in *years*. Unless you count the period when Ken is evil in Digimon 02. But I'm one of those people who don't really think Daisuke and Kaizer!Ken would hook up until after he turns good and they become best friends. It still looks good in fanfiction, though.
Anyway, yeah. Sorry, LC, but I really do like the Touya/Shindou thing. I still love Waya, though. He's adorable.
... I'm going to end up obsessed with this show, aren't I?

And the show *does* have a way of breeding obsessions. ~_^
BTW, if you want to check out some of the fanfiction and fanart for the series, look under the Forum section of www.hikagoyaoi.org. My own HikaGo fics are there, as well as on my Web page.

I don't think I've seen an anime with really good character development. Weiss and Yami are angst-catchers, and Clamp doesn't handle characters as well as they probably should. Digimon has good character definition (if you can see past the animation, the moments of childishness, and the bad dubbing jokes) but it's not quite the same thing as a series that takes place in a (relatively) normal setting and stretches out over a couple of years.
And if you were doubting the 'obsession' thing, I can confirm it for you by saying that I've already been to that site, and am in the process of working through the forem. ^_^;;

......<.< Right...like that'll happen any time soon.
:D If you see any good Waya/Hika, pass them my way?

If I see any good Waya/Hika, I will pass it your way. Most of what I've seen in my explorations is Akira/Hikaru. There's a lot of that.
Not that I mind at this point. ;)

I brought my raw tapes of ep. 62+ to a friends house when she had only seen up to ep.30 or such. And...
Friend: *gasps*
Billie: ?
Friend: Hikaru looks so... mature! And handsome!
Billie: Well, he is fifteen...
^^;; But I totally agree. Touya/Shindou rivalry is hot. And Isumi/Waya is even better *grins*
And as for getting obsessed with this show - please do. Maybe you'll find you want to write fanfiction. That's something the fandom definitely needs. *smiles* And maybe you'll even read the manga and write Yeong-Ha fanfiction... *hopeshopes*
Ja ne!
Billie ^_^

I was even more impressed with the Touya/Shindou rivalry, mostly because of the yaoi potential. I like. Muchly. Isumi/Waya... haven't seen much of that, but they are both cute. *fangirls over Waya*
Maybe I will get obsessed with the show and write fanfiction. It's always a possibility. As for the manga... where can I get the manga? If you know, you have to share this information with me.
Please? *puppy eyes*

Those scanlations aren't as good as the Toriyamaworld ones - the quality isn't as good, and there even are some grave translation mistakes I figure come from translating from the Chinese version, like something Suyeong tells Hikaru - but all in all, they're pretty OK. ^_^
Yeong-Ha is my god. *fangirls* Right up there with our Japanese pro's. ^_^

I wouldn't want to get the Viz publications, for two reasons. One: Viz isn't the greatest when it comes to accurate translations. And two: that would mean waiting for each volume. I'm way too impatient for that.
I'll keep an eye out for Yeong-Ha, then. ;)

Sounds like VIZ over there is a lot like Carlsen over here, then... *sighs* Like, they get various offers of good Go-Players (like, a 6th dan who knows HikaGo) to help them with the translation of Go-specific expressions, but of coooourse they can do it on their own. *sweatdrops* Anyway, Yeong-Ha makes his first appearance in Volume... 20, I think. Yashiro, too - keep an eye open for those two! XD~~
Have fun reading! *waves*

Oh... and... Hikaru no Go, too. ^_^;; I'll probably download all of that - in stages, though.
Thank you very much! :D My day is made.

Because you *could* say that Daiken is the 02 Taito, too. ;) Goggle boy and his angsty friend.

The problem is that Ken is the angst wench and the geek rolled into one. XD;;;
