Is anyone shocked that I went and downloaded episodes 66 through 70 of Hikaru no Go? If so, you must not know me very well.
All right, I admit it, I love the show. It's very good. Truthfully, I didn't like the first two episodes I watched, because the main character struck me as very annoying. So I listened to people talk about it and talk about it, and finally decided 'Okay, whatever, I'm going to watch the ending of this, just to see what all the fuss is about.'
You have to understand, I was expecting to see an obnoxious little twat, not a cute bishounen. Complete with a couple of cute friends and a heated rivalry.
I haven't been a rivalshipper in *years*. Unless you count the period when Ken is evil in Digimon 02. But I'm one of those people who don't really think Daisuke and Kaizer!Ken would hook up until after he turns good and they become best friends. It still looks good in fanfiction, though.
Anyway, yeah. Sorry, LC, but I really do like the Touya/Shindou thing. I still love Waya, though. He's adorable.
... I'm going to end up obsessed with this show, aren't I?

I don't think I've seen an anime with really good character development. Weiss and Yami are angst-catchers, and Clamp doesn't handle characters as well as they probably should. Digimon has good character definition (if you can see past the animation, the moments of childishness, and the bad dubbing jokes) but it's not quite the same thing as a series that takes place in a (relatively) normal setting and stretches out over a couple of years.
And if you were doubting the 'obsession' thing, I can confirm it for you by saying that I've already been to that site, and am in the process of working through the forem. ^_^;;
