So, NaNo is not going yet. At all. Nothing written. Or rather, I have a bit written when I tried to start and it felt like homework so I stopped right away.

I am reconsidering my options at the moment. I may be able to switch to another story and get going again. Or I may try to work on unfinished projects. I haven't decided at this point.

Anyway...

Cody and I just finished watching a new series together. It was called Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho (or just Umisho).

Umisho is a show that is designed for guys. The plot is virtually non-existant, the fanservice does not even try to be subtle, and there's a lot of crude humor. It's not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination.

I liked it, though. It's funny how that works sometimes. I kind of enjoyed the characters. Mainly, it was just the female characters who had any kind of personality; the guys were fairly static and not really focussed on with the exception of the one odd-looking perverted guy and the air-headed captain of the team (I really liked him). The main character is probably the most boring of the lot, too - a very typical harem lead, spineless and without much personality. The nice thing is that this isn't really a harem, because not all the girls are in love with him (only two of them are, and one of those two is kind of a psycho while the other is a bit of a ditz).

However, the comedy was amusing, the girls were fun characters, and there was swimming! I definitely liked the swimming. I think my favorite character was Amuro, the female lead. She's ditzy, but she's also eternally cheerful and fearless, and a very good swimmer. Cody's favorite was Shizuouka, a seemingly timid and sweet girl who has a secret perverted side. Both were amusing to watch on screen.

For a short, fluffy, ecchi little series, it worked out pretty well.

What I'm really looking forward to, though, is the next episode of Tales of the Abyss. I adore that series. Cody hasn't made it through the whole game, so there's a lot I don't know about what happens, and there's also stuff I didn't get to see when he was playing it. I'm looking forward to it all!
