So, the wedding went off without a hitch - it was freakin' fantastic! I'll have more details later, as we're currently IN HAWAII!!!!

The weather is gorgeous here... Can't wait to hit the beach!

Haha, I know! We both got sunburns yesterday! Not too bad, though. I think today we're going to enjoy the shade and the International Market - or maybe the mall. We'll see.

Ouch...As long as you aren't lobster red like some tourists. It hurts just looking at the glowing red. ^^; Have you gone around the island? That's always fun...

If you want any ideas for food (or whatever), just ask!

We ended up doing a city tour yesterday, and today we're doing more of a sightseeing tour. I don't think it takes us out of Honolulu, though... Do you know of one that does? We might also hit up the zoo and aquarium, and I've got a couple of brochures for dolphin-viewing activities (one is even snorkling with dolphins, which would be awesome! $99 per person, though... ouch).

I've just got red patches on my arms - Cody has one on his upper back. They're fading out and don't hurt at all, so probably tomorrow we'll hit up the beach!

Oh, you should definitely get out of Honolulu. Unfortunately I don't know of any tours because typically people I know either rent a car and drive themselves or I’ve taken them around. One option is using the circle island bus, see routes here (http://www.thebus.org/SystemMap/SystemMap.asp). Maybe you can ask the concierge of your hotel for a tour recommendation if you aren't interested in renting your own car or taking the bus. Otherwise, if you're still here and available on Sunday I can drive you around. (On Saturday I'm going on a tour of the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor with friends. XD;).

In any case, if you don't want to do the circle-island thing you could just go to the windward side of the island. It’s pretty different from this side. I think coming out of the tunnels through the Koolaus is pretty spectacular. Or go to the Makapuu Lighthouse (http://www.hawaiistateparks.org/hiking/oahu/index.cfm?hike_id=23) (and Hanauma Bay nearby). It's a nice walk up with a pretty view. On a clear day you can see other islands.

Another thing you could do is go to the farmer's market at Kapiolani Community College (KCC) (http://www.hfbf.org/farmersMarketKCC.shtml) on Saturday morning. They have a lot of prepared foods (and things like honey that you can taste) as well as fresh veggies and flowers. It's right behind Diamond Head near Waikiki. There are a crazy number of people there, though. Lots of Japanese tourists. ^^;

Doh! I just read on the Farmer's Market page that they will be closed this Saturday because of the Farm Fair (http://www.hfbf.org/FarmFair_2010.shtml). ^^; It's at Bishop Museum, which is in town...Another option, if you're interested.

That's funny you should mention that, since the tour we went on today took us out there and I saw the notice that said it wasn't going on this Saturday. XD

Thanks for the offer on Sunday - I might take you up on that, but we'll see what we're up to (we're pretty much playing things by ear while we're here). I'm hoping to get in one of the 'snorkle with dolphins' trips at some point, so I have to find out when those happen.

Beach tomorrow! My sunburns are nearly gone! Hopefully it doesn't rain, hehe. But even if it does, I am going down there anyway. :)

Hawaii is absolutely awesome - you couldn't have chosen a better place! You'll want to go to Waikiki Beach, if you can, because it's gorgeous. (Also, the convenience stores in that area are rather unique, because they're geared as much for Japanese tourists as American ones).

Yeah, we've got a luxury hotel right on Waikiki - worth every penny! We've been along the main strip here, too - I love it when they have the torches out.
