I finished my AMV, and anyone who's interested can download it! The anime is Uninhabited Planet Survive, and the song is "What it Feels like For a Girl (dance remix)" by Madonna. The video is a tribute to the girls of UPS.

I used footage from all over the place in the anime, so watch out for that if you're leary of spoilers. Not that you'll know what's going on or anything, but... well, just in case.

For those who are members at AnimeMusicVideos.org, I have it available here, and for those who aren't, you can get it here.

Either way, if you do decide to watch it, opinions are appreciated. It's my first attempt, so I'm a little nervous - but I'd really like to hear what people think of it.

Hello! I'm [livejournal.com profile] pichi's husband. She gave me a link to your video because we both like UPS.

I just watched it, and it's not bad. I can't say that I like the song, but I haven't liked Madonna for a long time now, if I ever did, so don't worry about it. I do get the overall theme you're going for, though, and the song works well for that. I think the begining was probably a little better than the later parts of the video, because I guess it seemed that the scene selections became more random, and not timed to the music as well. I don't mean the lip synching at the very begining, because I thought that was pretty good, but rather just changing from one scene to the next. The transitions didn't feel like they flowed quite right starting at about half way through.

Overall, I did like the video, and it's going into my files. It's the first UPS AMV I've seen, so I'd have to save it if for no other reason than that! :) Keep it up! You've got a good start, and you'll get better at making videos as you go along. I wish I had the time and computing power to do my own.

Can I steal it? Please? :)

I liked some parts in the second half, too. I just thought it could have flowed better, and been tied a little closer to the pace of the music. Also, to help keep things coherent, you might consider trying to tell a bit of a story with it, as well. The clips could have been grouped into themes, of sorts, that would then be put in order to follow each other in some sort of logical progression like:

-Girls in normal settings
-Girls encountering trouble/feeling down
-Girls struggling/fighting back
-Girls winning victory
-Girls at rest/peace

Honestly, it may not be a good idea for some videos, and it can always be overdone, but I think it helps in many of the other videos I have seen. Maybe it's just something to think about for the next one.

^_^

I like it. The clips go well with the music, and it has me intrigued about the series. (*Grin* Shame on you for that, I'm broke right now. ^_^)

The only think I could recommend is that your music is a bit loud, I actually had to turn my volume down a bit. But that's it! The transitions looked good to me.

Hi, Kasra made a post about your video in her journal, so I checked out and left you an opinion. I hope that I helped at all, and feel free if you need help to ask, although I think Kathy may know quite a bit more than myself ^_^;; Great job!
