Anime Rec?
Does anyone feel like recommending a good anime series to me? Something I may have missed but could potentially like? I'm still watching Escaflowne right now, but I'm not sure what I'm going to watch after. Tactics is a possibility, but I haven't decided yet if I like that series.
For a list of all of the anime I have seen, including series I'm watching right now and series I have dropped or put on hold, refer here. Note that I can possibly be persuaded about anime I've dropped or put on hold - if you think I haven't given a series a fair chance, please argue for it!
I don't care what genre really. Just any recs.

- Seirei no Moribito (complete, 26 eps) The story follows spearwoman, Balsa, as she protects Prince Chagamu (whose survival is necessary for the survival of their world). Probably safe to call this one a historical drama, but there's a bit of spiritual magic going on and the music/animation are both gorgeous.
- Saiunkoku Monogatari (s1 complete, 39 eps) Historical series about the first female politician in the kingdom. Highly slashable with a decent amount of biseinen. Arguably more interesting than it sounds on paper.
- Toshokan Sensou (in progress) A shoujo love-story carried out with large doses of war, libraries, and arguments against censorship. Fantastic! *is biased* We're six episodes in and the shojo angle is that the lead female, rather hotheaded, has so much in common personality-wise with her apparent intended (and supervising officer/librarian, and all-around nice guy), that he aggravates her.
- Vampire Knight (in progress) A shojo vampire anime with an inter-species love triangle. I'm liking it far more than I anticipated as the whole vampire thing is actually woven into the character designs and plot, rather than monkey-wrenched into the story. There's a lovely dose of bishounen and angst. And the only irritation I've had thus far is that observant viewers pick up on a fact in episode one and it takes the lead female four more episodes to figure out the same thing. But I don't perceive any similar problems after that point. The female lead has a bit of a Tamahome!Miaka! thing going on for an important vampire, but it's neither nausea- nor facepalm-inducing, yet.
On that note, it appears you've never watched Fushigi Yuugi. Which is really a shojo classic by any measure. A bit of it wouldn't hurt.

As for Fushigi Yuugi... meh... I've read some summaries and seen pieces of an episode, and it hasn't really grabbed me. Maybe out of curiosity one day I'll give it a shot, but right now I just don't have any interest.

I would personally recommend you pick up Kyou Kara Maou again, it's (as of Thursday) up to 86 eps now, and the 3rd season + OVAs have really ignited my love for it once more. I never thought I could fall back in love with it so much, and yet, I am. It has something about it that 'clicks' for me.
I've also gotten into D.Gray-man recently, which I see you also have 'On-hold', and after watching 15 episodes of it in marathon style because I simply could not wait to find out what happened next, I can say it's really quite awesome. I know a lot of people choose to skip over the so-called 'filler' episodes that pad out A LOT of the first 40 or so episodes, but I really quite enjoyed and have watched everything up to where I am currently (episode 75). I guess it depends how you feel about filler, but I've seen worse in other series.
Thirdly, I have to recommend Code Geass. It's another one that's currently showing (its second season). But if you don't like keeping up with unfinished series, the first season stands well enough on its own. Even if I have never yelled and swore at the screen quite as much for any other series (except maybe KKM) as I did at the end of S1's final episode.
Those are my rec, hope they help! I quite like that "My Anime List" site, I may have to make one myself. :D OH! It has manga too! Definitely need to get one!

Kyou Kara Maou... I guess I can describe that series as being one which I am kind of on-again off-again with. Once I start watching an episode, I get into it for a while and then after a few more eps I might not touch it again for months. It's weird. But I'll probably finish it eventually because it is a neat series.
I'm avidly following the manga for D.Gray-Man, but I lost interest very early on in the manga. So I do know the story and the characters quite well, but I didn't feel like braving the filler or really even getting into some of the major plot points. I've cheated and watched some recent episodes, but I don't know when or if I'll pick up the series again.
Code Geass is one I've looked at a couple times, but I'm not too sure about it. Maybe I'll give it another glance and possibly watch an episode or two. :) Any series that can make someone scream at the screen probably has something to it.
If you do get an account with "My Anime List", make sure to add me as a friend!

Hehe, Code Geass is worth at least a look, I have to admit I was dubious at first, cause I'm generally not that into "Mecha" anime. But, the characters and politics are riveting, and the mecha-side is present enough to be cool yet not overly dominating. But since you have plenty of mecha anime listed, I'm guessing that's probably won't be an issue for you.
I created one, so I shall go add you now! I'm in the middle of adding Digimon to my list XD

Would definitely second the recommendation for Seirei no Moribito, which was amazing... one of the most beautiful, well-told Production I.G. series in a while.
Since you haven't seen Rozen Maiden yet, I would also enthusiastically pimp that to you. The main character reminds me somewhat of Osamu, Ken's brother from Digimon, were Osamu to have cracked from the pressures of school (possible) and gone all hikkokomori on us (even more possible). And if instead of a slavishly devoted younger brother, he had a very sweet, normal older SISTER. And if HE got the
Digimonmagical doll. I was initially skeptical of it, because I thought you'd need to be into either ball-joint dolls or hentai, but it's really a series that defies characterization. As for more... I'd have to think about it! Your anime list helps show me more clearly where your taste and mine diverge, which means that there might be some series that I didn't care for/dropped that perhaps you might want to take a look at. It always surprises me when people say they like Tactics, for instance, because after the first two episodes it seemed rather cheesy to me. But a lot of smart, interesting people I know are into it, so who know.

I intend to check out Seirei no Moribito and will almost certainly at least try one episode of it. It sounds really awesome from the brief description above!
Rozen Maiden is one of those series I've debated watching for a while now... I suspect it'll be one of those series I end up watching and loving, and then I'll look back on my hesitance and shake my head at myself. I'm not even really sure where the hesitation comes from. Lots of people have recommended it highly. I will properly research it and watch an episode some time in the near future.
I'm not even sure if I like Tactics yet; the first episode failed to grab me. I'm going to give it another episode at least, though, because I find the premise kind of interesting.
If you can think of any more recs, I'd love to hear about them! :) Most of the series you've recced to me have turned into favorites - Uninhabited Planet Survive most notably so, but also Mushishi and Genshiken. I still need to watch Honey & Clover (Cody wants to watch it with me, so I'm waiting on him), but based on the episode I've seen, I have high expectations for that one as well.

I find myself incredibly curious as to how similar the plots are, as the one-sentence nutshell of Kami-chama Karin is elementary school girl gains the powers of a deity (and a henshin sequence initiated by the catchphrase: "I am god!").

... as for anime, I don't know, I haven't kept up much, myself. But I love the remake of Hellsing, so maybe give that a go?

Hehe, Cody likes the Hellsing remake too, I think he intends to show it to me at some point. ^^ We're going through Mai Hime right now.
Thanks!

I wouldn't be doing my duty if I didn't rec Tantei Guaken Q (Detective Academy Q) I absolutely love it, it's got loads of the usual detective cliches but it makes them different and it makes them work. Plus the characters are adorable and it's really fun.
Ayatsuri Sakon is pretty hard to find as far as I can tell but it's absolutely gorgeous. Another detective/mystery thing with creepy puppets. I love it to pieces.

Also, because the premise really caught my attention (I love mysteries and detective stories, particularly with a fun group of protagonists), I gave Tantei Gakuen Q a watch as well. I liked the first episode of the anime and I am in the process of downloading the first ten episodes, as well as the first two of the live action. We'll see how it goes.
I intend to watch at least one episode of each of the series that were recced to me, but it seems like it'll take a while! Everyone is so generous with their recommendations. :) It's great!

I really, REALLY hope you like Tantei Gakuen Q because I love it to pieces and there's not enough people out there who do like it. The live action is a lot of fun too but it's a VERY condensed version of the anime so there are lots of spoilers quite quickly. On the other hand, as the anime does the thing lots of mystery animes do and has several bits where the plot is just "mystery of the week", this can be an advantage.
Well, after going to bed last night, I thought of two more things I should recommend, so I shall. Then I'll shut up, promise! :D
Jyu Oh Sei - I really, REALLY loved this one. It's fairly short, gorgeous and I found it really exciting and creepy. I really need to watch that one again some time.
Baccano! - I haven't seen all of this one, we're watching it in my Anime Soc at the moemnt. It's a bit confusing and weird at first but you sort of settle into it. It's really funny and really dramatic.

Tantei Gakuen Q seems like it'll be my type of anime. I like mysteries and I like kids' shows with a lot of the light-hearted and friendship-based stuff. I'm sure I'll watch it all including the live-action, and I'll enjoy it throughly.
So far I've only watched episodes of that one and Seirei no Moribito, but I'm feeling confident that I'll enjoy both of them. I do plan to watch an episode of each of the series that was recced to me. If I like them, I'll continue with them (one at a time or all at the same time - could be fun either way).
Thanks again!

I've been contemplating doing an Ayatsuri Sakon and Yami no Matsuei crossover, but I've not plotted out an idea any deeper than Sakon and Ukkon get invited to perform at Oriya's 'establishment' and bump into doll-fetish!psycho-killer!Muraki there. (Also, is it just me, or does Sakon look similar to Muraki's dead brother?)
My usual partner in crime never got into the series, so I was wondering if you'd be interested in helping brainstorm ideas (with the foreknowledge that unless the fic turns out less than 10,000 words long, it has only a 25% chance of being completed in this decade).

Ugh. Clearly, I should have slept more last night.
