More Avatar Stuff
Halfway through season two of Avatar. Very good. Couldn't stop watching. Even Cody kept saying 'next episode' after each one ended.
1. Toph is JUST AS AWESOME AS EVERYONE SAYS SHE IS. All other girls in the series < Toph. By far.
2. Sokka is still my favorite, though, damnit!
3. Suki! I love the Kyoshi warriors... I think I may have found my Sokka ship here. Really liking their interaction.
4. I FREAKIN' LOVE TY LEE! She is second only to Toph for female awesome-ness! I also kind of think she would be a good ship for Sokka, too. Ehe...
5. Why is Jet back? Loser.
6. Is it just me or has the series gotten progressively more epic?
7. Zuko is an angst bitch and needs to accept it. It's the first step towards recovery.
8. Iroh is teh awesome. "No, she's crazy and needs to go down." YES!
9. I would like to see Mai paired with Zuko if only because Ms Lacks-Emotions and Mr Too-Much-Emotion would be an amusing combination.
10. Azula is a freak.

4. Ty Lee is one of my favorites too. She most shines in Book 3 though, so you haven't even seen the really good stuff.
5. I'm not gonna say a word. Just keep watching.
6. It is not just you. I think the general consensus in the fandom runs that Book 1 is the weakest of the three. Books 2 and 3 both simply trounce it, and that's scary considering how enjoyable Book 1 was.

8. That line is from one of my favorite episodes. I adore the talk he gives Zuko about the four nations, how each one differs, the hallmarks of the people and how studying the other types of bending can broaden the power of one's own elemental bending.

10. Yes, yes she is, but strangely fascinating, especially near the end.

Yeah, the only major female character in season one is Katara, and while she's cool, she's nowhere near as cool as Toph and Ty Lee. And Mai is awesome, too. And Suki definitely has potential to be wicked cool if she were to get more airtime. And... Azula's cool in a really creepy evil way, I guess.
My inner feminist is very pleased with this series!
I do really, really like Sokka/Suki, so I think that could be it. Sokka/Ty Lee is tempting. Sokka/Toph might be neat, too. I think Sokka/Suki is at the top of the list for now, though.
Yes, the first season was awesome, but the epic awesomeness of season two is something else entirely. I also enjoyed the episode with the discussion of the four nations, although I think I'm going to have to watch the scene again so it sinks in. That kind of stuff is really interesting to me, and one of the reasons I love this series so much.
I'm assuming by that cryptic statement you mean to imply that Zuko and Mai actual interact later on. XD I'll be interested to see what comes of that.

I should mention that my ex-girlfriend's OT3 is Sokka/Suki/Ty Lee. xD I seem to ship this too, and it's all her fault.

My friends want to do an Avatar cosplay group, aaaaaand I was going to try and do Azula. Cassie is our Suki, and she has already made her fans. I don't think we have a Sokka. D: But we have a Toph! They originally wanted me to do Toph, actually, but Gretchen wants her. And Gretchen might make a better Toph. ...Or no Gretchen might actually be our AANG. I am so confused. They'll work it out for me eventually. xD

I'm not an OT3 kinda girl, I prefer pairings. The occassional love triangle is all right, but I'm all about the singular passion between two people. XD Boring, I know.
Haha, I never even thought of Mai/Ty Lee. I guess it'd be interesting. XD
Haha, funny thing is I was just talking to Cody about Avatar cosplay. He can't figure out who he'd dress up as if we did it. I'd love to dress up as Ty Lee if I could get my tummy flat. But Mai would be a neat costume, too.

If you cosplay, I want to see the pictures~ I remembered who's who in my friend's group, sort of. Gretchen IS going to be Toph, I remember her getting excited about it. And Misa is going to be Aang. I remember THAT now, because Becky is Katara, and Misa ships Katara/Aang, and was getting all excited about being in a pairing with Becky. xD
I was told we have a Ty Lee, but I don't remember who it is. ._. It might be Amelia, but I don't know if she could actually make it to the convention with us.

I'm not an OT3er lol. But that's okay, everyone's different. Plus there are times when I can totally see it working even if I don't necessarily like it. ;)
I think if I were looking for fanfic, I'd have other pairings in mind, but decent fanfic is definitely a good thing!
Want to look up fanfic for Katara/Aang and Suki/Sokka... but will wait for the series to end first. My problem is that I'm not very patient lol.
If I cosplay I will post pictures, but keep in mind that it takes me forever - I still haven't posted our Chrono Trigger cosplay pics from June lol.
Dunno if our group would go for an Avatar cosplay as not everyone has seen it and also some may have a prejudice against it because there was an Avatar group in the cosplay skits who trash talked us for winning afterwards. They basically said that our skit sucked and theirs deserved to win instead but that we were given the award because of Cody's proposal. So... some of our group members may not want to be associated with them by doing the same series. XD
Personally I wouldn't care because I'd love to cosplay Avatar, but I dunno if it'll happen.

You should prolly slow down your watching a lil from here on in, though. This is a series that must be savoured some, not totally mainlined. Give yourself time to think about what might happen next!
I had no doubt you'd like Toph. Like Iroh, it's almost impossible not to like her. She is just naturally badass, and in many ways, the wisest of Aangs bending instructors.
Sokka is probably my favourite of the young men. And when his hair is down... omg, it's hard to imagine a hotter cartoon character.
Ty Lee gets yuri-shipped a lot. I just bet you can already guess with whom!
And I kind of figured you'd go for the Sokka/Suki ship. Those two have such a strong sense of duty and devotion, it makes them a great match. XD
Zuko and Iroh have the greatest non-romance love ever. Obviously it is impossible to ship them but I have a hard time imagining any romantic pairing I adore which has more love in it. Yea, even that of Daisuke and Ken.
Mai/Zuko is my Zuko ship. XD I'm so glad you've met her! I adore her.
Azula... oh, Azula. I love her too. Once you have finished the entire series I will show you my Avatar wrap-up post, where I talk about the ending and my thoughts on a couple of the key characters. She is deliciously hard and cunning.
And Appa... HE IS IN MY POCKET!!!! True story.

Toph is awesome. I love her attitude. And yeah, she seems to be a wiser instructor than Katara. Certainly her teaching style is more direct. I'm not sure who the firebending teacher will be, but I'm suspsecting either Zuko or Iroh. If it's Zuko, than Toph is definitely going to be the wisest. If it's Iroh... not so sure about that.
I love Sokka. And yes, he's hot. Even with his hair up. I've grown fond of the style. :) And I really do like him with Suki. I hope she shows up again and we can see more of their interaction! Although it is cool that she doesn't completely drop her own commitments just to join their team.
Yeah, it doesn't surprise me that Ty Lee is yuri-shipped - I expect it'd be with either Azula or Mai.
Zuko and Iroh have a great relationship, even as rocky as it is. It seems more like father and son than uncle and nephew, although I doubt Zuko sees it that way. I do like watching them together.
I expect we'll actually see Mai and Zuko interact with each other at some point... Obviously she has feelings for him, but I wonder if he returns them? It'd be a neat pairing, I think, but I'll have to withhold judgement until I see them together.
I won't deny that Azula is very cool and competent, but she is just damn creepy! Half the time I think she's insane, but it's probably just that cunning cruelty.
