More Avatar Stuff

Halfway through season two of Avatar. Very good. Couldn't stop watching. Even Cody kept saying 'next episode' after each one ended.

1. Toph is JUST AS AWESOME AS EVERYONE SAYS SHE IS. All other girls in the series < Toph. By far.

2. Sokka is still my favorite, though, damnit!

3. Suki! I love the Kyoshi warriors... I think I may have found my Sokka ship here. Really liking their interaction.

4. I FREAKIN' LOVE TY LEE! She is second only to Toph for female awesome-ness! I also kind of think she would be a good ship for Sokka, too. Ehe...

5. Why is Jet back? Loser.

6. Is it just me or has the series gotten progressively more epic?

7. Zuko is an angst bitch and needs to accept it. It's the first step towards recovery.

8. Iroh is teh awesome. "No, she's crazy and needs to go down." YES!

9. I would like to see Mai paired with Zuko if only because Ms Lacks-Emotions and Mr Too-Much-Emotion would be an amusing combination.

10. Azula is a freak.

11. WHERE IS APPA??????

1. You will never be able to look at Book 1 the same now that you have met Toph, because Book 1 LACKS Toph. And is therefore by definition less awesome.

2. Sokka is awesome, and will get more awesome yet. Just you wait.

3. Yes. You have found your ship.

4. Ty Lee is one of my favorites too. She most shines in Book 3 though, so you haven't even seen the really good stuff.

5. I'm not gonna say a word. Just keep watching.

6. It is not just you. I think the general consensus in the fandom runs that Book 1 is the weakest of the three. Books 2 and 3 both simply trounce it, and that's scary considering how enjoyable Book 1 was.

8. That line is from one of my favorite episodes. I adore the talk he gives Zuko about the four nations, how each one differs, the hallmarks of the people and how studying the other types of bending can broaden the power of one's own elemental bending.

9. You will be pleased. Again.

10. Yes, yes she is, but strangely fascinating, especially near the end.

I'll probably do another loooooooong review after making it all the way through season two. That seems to be the pattern for me: short spazzy comments midway through a season, then a long review after the season's over.

Yeah, the only major female character in season one is Katara, and while she's cool, she's nowhere near as cool as Toph and Ty Lee. And Mai is awesome, too. And Suki definitely has potential to be wicked cool if she were to get more airtime. And... Azula's cool in a really creepy evil way, I guess.

My inner feminist is very pleased with this series!

I do really, really like Sokka/Suki, so I think that could be it. Sokka/Ty Lee is tempting. Sokka/Toph might be neat, too. I think Sokka/Suki is at the top of the list for now, though.

Yes, the first season was awesome, but the epic awesomeness of season two is something else entirely. I also enjoyed the episode with the discussion of the four nations, although I think I'm going to have to watch the scene again so it sinks in. That kind of stuff is really interesting to me, and one of the reasons I love this series so much.

I'm assuming by that cryptic statement you mean to imply that Zuko and Mai actual interact later on. XD I'll be interested to see what comes of that.
