Aug. 26th, 2002 09:42 amI feel much, much better after talking to Tanya yesterday. I worked the morning shift, so at least I didn't have to try and get people to leave at nine again. When Tanya came in for the afternoon shift, I told her about that nasty woman, and she said it's no big deal. Next time, she said, if that woman is yelling at me and telling me to 'f*ck off', I should call the police.
I definitely intend to do that next time. Because she was freaky, and I didn't know how to make her leave.
Tanya also said that she wouldn't be surprised if the woman was a drug-user or a former drug-user, because they always accuse people of 'judging them' and they are really touchy. She said, next time that woman is in there after nine, I should call her, and she'll come in and make her leave.
Tanya is my hero.
We have to wear name tags at work now. Great, huh? I guess it makes sense - I mean, if I did something wrong, at least the customer could complain about me personally and I'll find out what I should do next time. But it's stupid... I mean, we get some creepy people. I'm not sure they need to know my name.
If that woman complains about me, all I have to do is explain it to either Georgie, John, or Tim. Because they've all had their share of nutcases, and if she was in there after nine, I'm in the right and she's in the wrong. So they won't even be mad at me, and even if they were, I'd never be fired just because a customer complained.
That's good... I guess...
If I had a better job lined up, I would seriously quit. The only reason I'm still there is because it's REALLY hard to find a job in this stupid city. And I need the money to get me through college.
Anyway...
I will most likely be watching episode 20 of X today. I have episodes 21 and 22 downloaded as well, and episode 23 is on its way. I'm going to see if I can hold out on episode 24, so there'll be something on my tape I haven't seen.
Then again, it'll probably be a really long time before I get my tape, so I might give in before then.
Oh well.
