Monk and Ayako were pretty much spot-on; I enjoyed their performance. Masako's seemed to fit her character, and so did Lin's. John was freakin' excellent! I love the Australian accent! I was really hoping they'd do that for him, because he is actually supposed to be Australian, after all. I could listen to him talk forever. He's not even my favorite character, although he's up on the list. But my favorite character (Monk) got decent treatment, too. I'm pleased.
Mai was all right; I liked that she didn't try to copy the Japanese voice actor and her timing and flow were good, but she sometimes was a little annoying. Naru's voice got on my nerves the majority of the time. So... not all sunshine and roses. But overall, they had dub actors who seemed to really care about what they were doing and put the effort in to make it seem natural and flow well.
So, not bad at all. Another good job from Funimation. I still prefer the Japanese version, but I saw that one first, so it's only natural, after all.
I'll be interested to see what the Ouran dub is like, since that's the next series I'll be getting on DVD.
