Jan. 13th, 2005 08:27 amOur lab for this particular class was not cancelled - so I have lab from 10-11 this morning. I'm not used to getting up at 8:30 any more. I'll have to get used to it, though, since I work at nine this Sunday, and have lab at nine on Tuesdays. Plus today's class.
But still. Seems too early now.
Ah well...
I've officially finished watching Gundam Wing with Jeremy. Next week, we are starting Gundam Seed and a show of his he wants me to watch. It's good if we go slower with Gundam Seed, though, because I haven't seen all of it yet and I want to watch it by myself first.
Even episode 29... bleh...
Got some more work done on the new project, though. Excellent. It looks like that may be a go. I need to do more when I get home from school today, though.
And then I can finally put things into motion somewhat.
It'll be fun.

Jan. 12th, 2005 10:15 amI finally watched episodes 27 and 28 of Kyou Kara Maou... had them for quite a while, but didn't actually watch them until now. Damn, they were good... But now I have to wait for the next episode. Gah.
Don't wanna wait. Want more now.
Meh. Oh well.
I also watched the Digimon X-Evolution special, which was... bizarre. I only vaguely understood what was going on, and at the end, I think I understood less than I did at the beginning. There was also a failure of characters who died to STAY DEAD. This happens in Digimon sometimes, but in this case, it was more immediate and noticeable and... well, kinda dumb.
It was an engaging movie, especially for having no human characters. But not the greatest.
And this morning I watched episode 22 of Gundam Seed... I still sorta think Cagalli is an interesting character - especially for an anime female - but I wished they would just let her fight in this episode. What's the point of keeping that second unit inside? She's being practical - *they* are being morons. More fighting!
Yeah. Other than that, felt very depressed when they showed Nicol saying goodbye to his parents at the end and then talking with Athrun about his concert. Twist the knife a little more, why don't you?
Darn it all...

Jan. 11th, 2005 09:57 amWell, yesterday kind got off to a really bad start. I had class at eleven - except I didn't have class at eleven, because that class had been moved to five o'clock. Very inconvenient time for me.
Thus, I had to find another class - not actually that hard, since I'd been considering a different class already anyway, and it was at a convenient time. The only reason I hadn't picked it up for this term was because I was taking the main prerequisite to it last semester and wanted to be sure I'd passed before I registered for it.
Also, there's a lesser prerequisite that I'm only just taking this semester, but the instructor was really nice, and since I'd got an A in the main prerequisite, he let me take it.
So I have class at noon now instead of eleven. All is good. I spent the hours from eleven until four at the school, most of which were occupied worrying and fretting and freaking out and trying to get my schedule straightened out. I didn't get to eat lunch until moments before my three o'clock class, when I had an overpriced sandwich from the cafeteria.
But enough of sob stories. It's over now, and things are worked out.
Creative writing looks like it's going to be fun. Even though it's poetry, I'm very glad I decided to take that one this semester. The instructor seems nice, and the course looks intersting. 50% of our grade is for ten poems we'll be writing, and 50% is for the play we'll be writing. It'll be a one-act play, only about ten - fifteen pages.
I'll have fun with it.
I'm very glad lab was cancelled for this morning, though... it means I have a day off to relax for a while before getting back into things again tomorrow.
Maybe I'll try and write that poem for next week's class.

Jan. 10th, 2005 09:30 amWell, it is the first day of school. Fun times. I have class at eleven, three, and seven today. Three hours between each one. Oddly enough, I don't mind this prospect. Leave me enough time to go home in between.
Besides, having a three-hour class tonight means I have less class during the rest of the week. I only have *one* class on Fridays now.
Excellent.
Yesterday, I ordered a bunch of stuff. A novel by Lorena Manuel - I didn't know she had a novel. I should've bought this a long, long time ago. Also Gundam Wing: Blind Target, which I bought with Johanna's gift card and which I am looking forward to despite the promise of scary het. It has nice artwork. The other things I ordered were Eerie Queerie volume four (I know, I know, one day I'll get the rest of it as well) and Digimon Tamers volume four (I'm long overdue in buying that one).
So, yeah. I'll probably have Blind Target before I get the rest, but it's all good. I qualified for free shipping from Amazon.ca. Heh.
Other than that, not much is going on. I'm a little nervous about school. Eek...

Jan. 9th, 2005 10:26 amMy vacation appears to be over... I work tonight, and then school starts tomorrow. It was nice while it lasted, I suppose. I didn't get a whole lot accomplished, especially as far as Game Over is concerned. I'm afraid I've neglected that story terribly over the past little while.
I'm giving it a break. Don't want to force it.
And, yes, I'm working on something else. Several other things, in fact. I'm not saying a word yet... We'll see how things go, and maybe I'll bring them up here later on for those who are interested.
I still have two episodes of Kyou Kara Maou unwatched and a bunch of Gundam Seed. For KKM, I can say that I know these episodes get serious, and I want to wait until I have more of it before I start watching. For Gundam Seed, I have no real excuse. Other than that I'm avoiding getting to episode 29.
Can't keep that up forever, and I do want to watch more, but still.
Bah.

Jan. 8th, 2005 10:17 amBefore I forget AGAIN, here's something I forgot to include in yesterday's entry. I finished that scanlation - this is the last of my Hikaru no Go doujinshi. It's called 24:00, the pairing is Akira/Hikaru, and it is not for kiddies. So if you don't like depictions of the characters having sex, do not download this one.
In any case, you can get it here. Enjoy!
In other news, I did nothing yesterday. Is that news? I've been doing nothing pretty much every day.
Anyway. It snowed. A lot. Roads were really bad, and flights were cancelled. We have a lot of the stuff on the ground right now - the little boys across the street have built forts. They don't even really need to pile snow - they just have to find a drift and dig a hole in it.
It's crazy. But then again, not that unexpected.
I think I might head up to Chapters today and see about spending that $15 Gift Card Johanna gave me as the Secret Santa gift. That could be fun. Driving through the snow won't be, but it's not like I haven't done that before.
Good times.

Jan. 7th, 2005 10:21 amIt's snowing AGAIN.
ARGH!
I hate snow. Seriously. This is depressing - especially this close to when I'll be returning to school. I'm going to have to walk through this shit. And I'll have to drive through it to work on Sunday, too.
Bah.
Hate it. Hate snow. Evilness.
In other news, my computer is being extremely slow. Microsoft Word takes forever to open or save things. The 'open' or 'save' box will come up quick enough, but you won't have any folder options for five to ten minutes. If at all.
Very, very annoying. I want to kick my computer - but then of course I'd have nothing, and that would be worse. Margh.
Other than that, I haven't got much going on. I've done little to no writing, and when I do, I keep contemplating new things rather than working on my old ones.
I'm way too fickle, I think.

Jan. 6th, 2005 10:04 amIt's snowing again, and we already have WAY too much snow. I hate snow! Why won't it stop? I don't want to have to walk to school in this next Monday...
Bah. Yes, I'm whining. I might as well. I don't have much else to put in this entry.
Jer and I finished watching Gundam Wing - the only thing left now is Endless Waltz, and then we move on to Gundam Seed. I still prefer Wing to Seed, just because I'm so obsessively attached to the characters of Wing in a way that I haven't managed with Seed.
Except Nicol, but we all know where THAT leads. Bah.
Oh well.
I've almost finished scanlating that doujinshi - it's Hikaru no Go, the last of the ones I bought several months ago. I just need to do the two notes - one at the front and one at the back. Then I'll be done.
Maybe I'll do that this morning, and post a link later on.
We'll see.

Jan. 5th, 2005 09:47 amWell, yesterday I didn't get a lot done. Heh. Actually, I find that I get almost nothing done when I have lots of time. It seems like I only ever want to work on my stories and such when I have other things I should be doing.
Figures.
I did watch another couple of episodes of Gundam Seed... I really don't want to see episode 29. I've watched 21 so far. Episode 20 had Nicol playing the piano. WAH! I love him...
Damnit...
Every time I see Yzak and Dearka now, I keep thinking 'they're sleeping together'. It is branded onto my brain. I can't get rid of it. From now on, they just ARE, and nothing will convince me otherwise.
Christmas junk food is almost gone, which is good because I keep eating it. Thankfully, I'm not the only one or I'd be eating a lot more. It's not really good for me.
I saw Jeremy last night and we did a lot of work on the new project. I'm hoping to do a little more tonight, but tonight we'll also be watching more Gundam Wing... We're almost done with the series, and then it's on to Endless Waltz.
Excellent.
I also found a doujinshi that I scanned and which
insaneneko gave me the translation for, but I'd never gotten around to scanlating it. I'd almost forgotten about it... so I started scanlating. It's about a third of the way done. I'll hopefully do more today and possibly finish it.
We'll see, I guess.
Figures.

Jan. 4th, 2005 10:18 amWell... V left yesterday. Back to Victoria to go to school again. I know I'm going to miss her, because I did last semester. It seems like such a long time until April...
I promise I won't get married, though, V - even if I do suddenly break up with Jer for that mysterious redhead.
Especially not in Vegas.
We did our Secret Santa exchange yesterday - it was good to see Jen again for a while, and to meet her new boyfriend, who seems to be really nice. I'm glad she's with someone who makes her so happy. Jen also did tarot readings for me and V, which is the explanation for the message above.
It was fun, anyway.
Last night, I just got to chat with V and Jo... It was good to spend some time with just my friends and no one else. I haven't seen a lot of them lately, and I've missed them. I'm hoping I can keep in closer contact with everything. I think, if I make the effort, it can be done.
I intend to do so. I think it's worth it.
In completely unrelated news, I made a new icon yesterday. Card Captor Sakura... heh. I like it, though. I also cleaned up some of my others. They look a little bit nicer now.

Jan. 3rd, 2005 10:41 amI have a nice little vacation coming up here - a vacation from everything, really. No school. No work. No busy extended family. I have a complete week off.
It's nice.
I intend to try and work on Game Over. I'd really like to get part five finished soon, because it's been a while. I can partly blame that on NaNoWriMo, but I've also let it sit too much. I need to get a nice chunk of writing done on it.
Also, the new project, though. Sarah and I had a great conversation about the thing, and it looks like it's going to go okay at least for a while. We have quite a bit of material. I need to see Jeremy tomorrow or Wednesday and get a bit more worked out - then I'll be able to get this really going.
Excellent.
So today, V, Jo, Jen and I will hopefully get to do our Secret Santa exchange... Hopefully. I'd really like to see that happen, since V is leaving tomorrow and we really should take care of it before she leaves.
It'd also give me a chance to see Jen's new place. That might be nice.

Jan. 2nd, 2005 09:06 amI got some writing done yesterday. As usual, not much, but that's okay. I'll take things slowly if I have to.
It's all good as long as I get there in the end.
I also had time to watch two episodes of Gundam Seed. Unfortunately, my DVD player decided that it didn't like me stopping the disc for a while and then coming back to press play later on. So for whatever reason it skipped over two episodes and started playing the one after them.
And I, being a complete moron, didn't notice this until most of the episode had passed and I realized that some of it didn't make sense and I hadn't seen any of the things that were in the previews for that episode.
Heh. Figures.
Oh well... I'll just have to watch the two episodes I missed.
I work tonight. Fun times... I hate work, but I haven't been getting many shifts, so I guess I can't complain. After tonight, I won't work again until next Sunday, and school doesn't start until next Monday.
Which means I'll probably have a lot of time on my hands.
Hopefully I can make good use of that.
I hung out with V last night. We went for dinner and then rented a movie - "All Over the Guy", which I've already seen but not for a while. It was very good. We had more fun conversation, which is always a good thing. I don't want her to go on Tuesday.
I guess it had to end some time, though...

Jan. 1st, 2005 12:07 pmHappy New Year's!
Hopefully everyone had fun last night - and in the last year. Overall, anyway. It's a brand new year, and we're halfway through the decade. It's weird to think about, hm?
In any case, I had to work yesterday, but that wasn't too bad. There weren't so many people that it got really busy, and I got everything done that I needed to do. I work again tomorrow, but today I'm just going to relax and do whatever.
Last night was fun - I went over to Adam's house with V. Jeremy showed up later, and we were all (sort of) watching Pirates of the Carribean. Mostly talking, though. It's been a while since we've all been together. It was a lot of fun.
I enjoyed it, anyway.

Dec. 31st, 2004 08:55 amFirst off, before I forget, does anyone know how to make fonts come out smoother when using Photoshop? Mine always seem to come out sort of choppy. Also, what font is best for manga/scanlations?
If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.
Yesterday, I stayed home all day and did nothing. I probably should've taken that book back to the library, really, but no. Another ten cents added to the fine. I'm so incredibly lazy...
Ah well. I'm on vacation. I can be lazy if I want.
Did some work on a couple of things. Game Over part five is inching toward being finished. I even did some work on a fanfic I haven't worked on in a couple of years. It's an extremely crappy fanfic - I'm trying to improve this chapter so at least this part will seem less crappy.
It might just be a lost cause, but at least I seem to be getting somewhere. Maybe one day I'll even be able to post it.
I have to do some research and serious thinking about the new project. I visited a couple of sites with 'dos' and 'don'ts' and helpful tips, and I think I might revise the intro I'd planned. I'm sure I can do this.
I work at two today. Only until six, though. Then I'll be doing something with V, Jo, and Adam. And maybe Jen? I can hope...

Dec. 30th, 2004 09:37 amSo I'm sort of working on a new project - it's not a new story, that's all I'll say. I don't want to give away the details just yet in case it all falls through. So far it's looking like a lot of fun, though.
I'm very excited about this. I hope it goes well.
I have only seven episodes of Gundam Wing left to watch with Jeremy, but I think we might be busy on the nights I see him working on this new project, so it'll take longer to watch them. That's okay, though - there's all the time in the world for GW.
Other than that, yesterday was uneventful. I have to return a book that is overdue at the library. It fell off the chair I put it on, so I forgot that I still had it. Meh.
Oh well.
Tomorrow is New Years Eve. I have to work from two until six, but that's not too bad. Probably after that I'll be doing something with friends. I'm not sure what we'll be doing, but I suspect it'll be the same thing as every other year.
Should be fun.

Dec. 29th, 2004 09:08 amI had to use this icon, because I think it's great. Poor Jyou.
He gets all the best lines.
In any case, yesterday I got a bit of work done on a couple of different things, but not a whole lot. I'm about to lead into the illusion in the fifth chapter of Game Over, which means I have to make a more concrete plan of what's going to happen in the illusion.
I know what I *want* to do, but it's still fairly vague. Must decide on details.
I also watched an episode of Kyou Kara Maou and the second half of that Gundam Seed episode I tried to watch over Christmas. It looks like KKM is starting to get sort of serious, which totally throws me off. It's not supposed to be serious!
Ah well. Also, the thing with the souls was incredibly transparent. I've already made a guess about where the second one goes, and what it means, and I'd be willing to bet money that I'm right.
The fact that Earth's Maou is named Bob is always just plain amusing.
Also, last night V and I went to see National Treasure, which was an excellent movie. I mean, not that it's realistic in any way, shape, or form, but it was entertaining, it had good music, and it held your interest right until the end. Also, the acting was very good. I love Sean Bean.
So, in my opinion, a very good movie. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
