Check out the icon, people - that's right, I win. I WIN! NaNo has been conquered. Mwahahaha!

Yeah. Okay. I'll shut up now.

The story's almost finished, actually, so I think I might try to get the last bit of it done. However, I now feel free to work on other things. So... yeah. I started working on some other things. Ehehe.

Anyway...

The networking assignment does what it is supposed to do. What it doesn't do is close after this is done. I'll have to ask for more help, but I'm very close to being done and that's a good thing. The due date was extended until Saturday, too, so I'm sure I can manage.

We hopefully get our English essays back today. I'm crossing my fingers for a good mark - this was worth 40% of my grade. And there will be more presentations. I'm really glad my teacher decided to devote these last two classes to presentations - it takes a huge weight off.

Nearly there...

I also watched episode 44 of Gundam Wing last night. Quatre vs Dorothy! This is the one Quatre actually wins, too. Then she gets her stupid fencing foil the next time they meet. Bah. Poor Quatre.

Oh well. He gets rescued, so it's all good.

You know, I remember thinking that the 'Save her and leave me behind' thing came kind of out of nowhere when I first watched this, but watching it again, I can see why he says it. Especially since he's just made a comparison between himself and her. After all, Trowa saved him when he was like that - he could save Dorothy too, right? I honestly think at that point Quatre thought it would be more worthwhile to save Dorothy than him.

Can't tell you how very, VERY glad I am that Trowa disagreed.

Yesterday was a long, looooong day. Especially work. Some people brought in their kids, who were kicking around a mini soccer ball inside the laundromat, and of course it inevitably managed to hit me in the head. Gugh.

At least I don't work again until Sunday.

Several good things: I got my Philosophy paper back, and had pulled off an 85. It even had a little smiley stamp on it. I was happy. And in English, the journal presentations didn't take very long so we finished early. Mine went well, too - I read a clip from Game Over. The instructor asked if I was going to be in the Creative Writing course next semester, which she is teaching. I am, so that's cool.

Only one more project to work on now, but it is a difficult one. I worked on my networking assignment a little this morning, and it has a problem that I can't figure out. I'll be going to see my teacher after I've finished checking everything. Then I'll try to work on it again, and THEN I'll get to finishing up my NaNo story.

I am at 49K. 1K to go by tonight. I should be able to manage it. Hopefully.

I'm almost finished with the story, too, so I think I'll try to polish the whole thing off as well.

If I do, it'll be the first original story I've actually finished. That should give me more confidence when I get back to work on Game Over.

Excellent.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I managed to get through what I needed to get through yesterday. Journal entries - done. Question sheet - done. 48K - made it.

I have to work tonight. It's going to be another one of those long, long days. And work will suck, because it's Monday and Monday is always busy. I spent a lot of time scrubbing mold off of the inside of soap dispensers last night - and of course there was the cat shit the night before. Work hasn't been great. I don't expect tonight to be an exception.

Bleh.

I made it to the last plot point in my NaNo story, though, so I should be able to make it to 50K without too many more problems - probably tomorrow, which is the last day anyway. I managed to generate moderate interest.

That is a good thing.

I watched episodes 41 and 42 of Gundam Wing. Trowa gets his memory back in the next one. I probably won't get to that until tonight before I go to bed, but it's a good one.

Yay!

I've been looking around GW stuff, and I keep coming across references to the "Preventor 5" manga... Which, of course, I can't find anywhere. Not even summaries or scans or anything. I want it.

Anyone got any info on that? I'd appreciate help...
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse)
I finally got into the episodes with the Rhythm Emotion opening theme... the last nine, I guess. I didn't know that. In any case, I'm happy. I really love this song.

... Getting inspired for Gundam Wing fanfics. I got hit with a plot last night. Nothing major, just a couple of cute ficlets. Well, it was originally one cute ficlet, but it spawned a sequel somehow.

Blargh.

I need to finish NaNo first, and school. I'm too busy right now to write fanfics. I've put way too much off to the last minute. I still have 3K to go for my NaNo story, and I didn't do any homework yesterday either.

I'll have to get it done today before work. At least some of it, anyway.

My goal for today is 48K. That's only 1K more than I have now. I have too much else to do to hope for more.

I work tonight. And tomorrow night. Last night some lady came in and borrowed our broom to sweep up dried cat shit that had brushed off whatever she was washing. I had to wash it with bleach when she was done; it stunk. I am not anxious to go back in to that evil place.

Oh well...

In better news, I found a torrent with all 26 episodes of Kyou Kara Maou that have been subtitled so far... It's just about 4 gigs, which isn't too bad, and I'll get the episodes I'm missing. So that's cool.
silverthunder: (Default)
If there is at least one person in your life who you consider a close friend, and who you would not have met without being part of an online fandom, post this sentence in your journal.
silverthunder: (Edward - Hee)
I know I should be working on homework today, but I'm way too lazy. I still have two journal entries and a question sheet to finish, but I'll probably end up reading fanfiction and leaving everything for tomorrow. I'm going to try and get some NaNo work done, though.

I'm at 46K. Heh. Didn't get as much as I wanted done yesterday, either.

That's okay, though, because I'm really close to being finished. Hopefully I can make it.

I got help with the program, but it still has problems. I'm leaving it until Monday now, because I have a lot due on that day and the program isn't due until Thursday by midnight.

Priorities...

I might even just say screw it all and go watch Gundam Wing. I watched episode 38 last night and 39 this morning, so I am in fangirl heaven at the moment. Yes Trowa, he IS crying, go get your sexy ass up there and make him feel better! And then get into lots of trouble so he can risk his life trying to save you! GO!

... Sorry.

Yeah, I think I'll slack off and go find some fanfiction. At least until I realize there's not much time left before I have to go to work and I should actually get something done if I don't want to be freaking out at the last minute.
silverthunder: (Default)
All right. So I have the last program to write, which is worth 7% of my grade. I started it last night, and it is a little tricky. Ran into problems already, not surprisingly, and I have to see my prof this morning.

I also paid part of my tuition for next semester yesterday - 'part of' because my debit has a limit of $1000 per day, and I'm not going to carry around that much in cash, that's for sure.

I'll pay the rest either today or some time next week.

Because I ran into the problem with my program, I couldn't continue to work on it. I did a couple of journal entries for English - only two more entries, and then I'll be done with the thing. Then I did some more NaNo work.

My goal for NaNo yesterday was 44K. I managed to inch over 45K.

5K to go! And even though I have a lot of schoolwork, I'm pretty sure I can make it.

I think I'll bring my Philosophy question sheet to the anime club meeting and try to do a little bit on it there. I probably won't have much success, but hey, even if I get one thing written it'll be one more than I'd have if I didn't bring it.
silverthunder: (Default)
Well, one essay is turned in. The other has an outline that I plan to turn into an actual piece of writing this morning as soon as I'm done checking LJ. This one is a little more interesting, since it's Philosophy. The other one just reminds me why I don't take literature courses any more.

Ah well. On to utilitarianism!

I also managed to get to 42K yesterday. I'm hoping for 44K today - there will be a new Networking assignment, though. I also have a final exam question sheet to work on, and a sorely neglected journal to fill in, both for Monday.

I'll be busy over the weekend. Especially since I work both days. And Monday, too.

I still have 8K to finish...

Bah. The end of November is usually pretty packed.

I'll live, though - it's not as bad as I was worried it would be. At least after tomorrow both of my essays will be in.
silverthunder: (Roy)
The first essay is finished! I will be handing it in today, and then it's not my problem any more. Thank god.

The second essay is for Philosophy, so it'll be more interesting to write than this one. Of course, it'll be done at the last minute, but that's okay because I'm sure it'll be all right without me stressing too much over it.

Also... 40K! I made it!

10K to go - and a week to do it in. I can get there!

I feel very proud of myself for having made it this far. And I even found time to watch a couple episodes of Gundam Wing last night, too. Yay for Duo thinking he blew up Hilde!

Poor Hilde.

Only four or five more episodes until Trowa!

Damnit, this is making me want to write fanfiction again. Must... resist...
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I have a question. Why is episode 30 of Gundam Wing called 'The Reunion with Relena' if said reunion only happens in the last two minutes of the episode and isn't really much of a reunion at all?

If you can answer this, then change the reference to that episode called 'Catherine's Tears' and tell me why we only see her tears for about thirty seconds at the end.

Some series just shouldn't title their episodes at all.

I managed to write out my essay yesterday, using only the points I wanted to make with no references. I managed to get it more or less structured the way I wanted. So now I'm going to go and put a quote in to support everything I say.

Shouldn't take too long, hopefully.

After that, I'm getting my mother to proofread. She does a pretty good job of that.

Then tomorrow, it gets handed in.

NaNo wise, I'm up to 37K. I'm hoping to make it to 40K by the end of today. We will see how that goes.
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
So I had to work yesterday, which sucked. We have fifteen washers in total in the laundromat. A couple came in and used up twelve of them. Then they asked me to transfer it all into dryers.

We have nine dryers, and one was out of order.

Ha. Ha ha ha.

It was a *fun* morning. And yes, that was sarcasm.

However, I did make it to my 35K goal last night. Little over a week left, and 15K to go! I can make it!

I also watched the first of two flashback episodes for Gundam Wing. I was kind of hoping they might have left those out of the DVDs, since they tell you nothing new.

Damn. Oh well.

Before that, I got to see Heero go psycho with Wing Zero. Hah. At least he got the chance to repay Quatre for giving him a beating last time they fought. Ohoho, the tables are turned now, aren't they?

I love this series. I know I've said it before, but it's still true.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I'm tired. Bleh. Six hours of work ahead of me this morning - which maybe isn't that much compared to some people's shifts, but I'm tired and I want to be in bed. Stupid work.

I haven't gotten any work done on my essays, which is normal. I didn't really think I would. They'll probably be written at the last minute, as usual.

Heh. Oh well.

In better news, I'm up to 34K. I'm hoping to have 35K by time I go to bed tonight, so that's definitely a good start. I'm still in the middle of that turning point for this story... after I've finished, it's more or less downhill. I'll have to start thinking about the new character I'll have to add, though.

Ah well. She'll be fun. Hehe.

15K to go, and a little over a week to do it in. I dunno...

Guess we'll see how I manage.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Spent another day of getting not much done. I was going to work on an essay yesterday - didn't happen. Was going to work on NaNo last night - didn't happen. The only thing I did do was finish off the little bit of my Networking assignment that I had left to work on.

At least *something* is done.

I want to get to 35K by Sunday. That is my goal. Then I'll have 15K left for the rest of the month.

I also want a draft of my essay done by Monday, if that's possible. I'll worry about the second essay after that. That'll be a little harder. Stupid school...

Ah well.

I watched the last episode with psycho Quatre this morning. He's all normal again now - very unhappy, most likely, but not insane any more. Poor Trowa.

I love this series.

Also caught the dub for episode 11 of Gundam Seed last night - that series is pretty cool too. And hey, I had momentarily-psycho Kira just in time to go along with psycho Quatre. And Nicol! I love Nicol. He's so cute. Fllay is creepy, and the music is awesome. Good stuff.

Anime club meeting today, too.
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
So I need a new costume for belly dancing. This would set me back more than I really want it to, but mom agreed to chip in. I love my parents.

My sister had some kind of misunderstanding with her boyfriend yesterday, and came home in tears. It was kind of... odd. They've been seeing each other for a long time now - he's almost like a family member. In any case, she seemed very worried that they would break up, but apparently they talked it over and worked things out.

Hopefully that's a good sign.

Now for better news. I did manage to get one of my essays figured out - I now know what I'm going to write on, and how I'm going to organize it. Which is a lot better than I thought I'd do yesterday. Also, the networking assignment is only the first half of our final project - and the easiest half. I'm almost done already.

And my word count is up to 32K.

Now if only I can keep this pace up...
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
My goal for today is to get the outlines for my essays done. That means I have to have at least some idea of what I'm writing about. That is the goal.

What I would rather do is watch Gundam Wing. Unfortunately, I don't have much time for that.

The second goal is to hit 32K. I'm at 30K right now. I'd like to try my best to stick with 2K per day, but that seems unlikely at the rate I'm going. But hopefully *something* will work out.

We'll be getting our final assignment in Networking today. That means getting the essay outlines done will help me a lot, since after I get that assignment, I'll have a *lot* of work to do. It'd be nice if the essays were all planned and structured and ready to be written.

It really would.

The question is, will it actually happen?

I'm feeling lazy...
silverthunder: (Roy)
Well, I actually did get that short assignment done yesterday - plus as much as I'd wanted to write in my NaNo story.

Now, if I can just keep up this pace... I can still make it.

29K. I'm getting there. Less than half to go.

Just watched episode 20 of Gundam Wing, too. Trowa's so hot in uniform. I love him. And that impossible little flip thing at the end where he pulls a gun on Heero is just awesome.

This series rocks.

Next up... Quatre goes psycho. I wonder if the insane laughter at the end of that episode will be more or less creepy in Japanese.

I guess we'll see.

School today, and then I'm going to try and at least get some kind of outlines done for my essays. And then more NaNo. And all of this before I hang out with Jeremy. We'll be finishing off the rest of Orphen Revenge. Then it'll be Gundam Wing. And probably Gundam Seed after that.

Excellent.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Well, I made it to 27K, which was my goal for yesterday in NaNo - just barely, though. My sister had a 12 page essay due today that she did all of last night, so I didn't use the computer much. Nice to know she's not immune to procrastination. No student is, I think...

Anyway, that just meant I watched a bunch of Gundam Wing episodes. I watched episode 19 this morning, and was happy to note that a place that had skipped when I watched it downstairs with my friends didn't skip on my DVD player.

Excellent. Because it was when Duo was fighting, and I don't want to miss out on that. I still have it on tape from when I got the episodes off the TV, but still. Want it on DVD.

But it's all good.

I love this series so much. I think I can appreciate it more now that it's been a couple of years and my tastes have expanded, and I'm - I hope - a better writer. GW was my third anime, so it was a long time ago that I was really into it. I'm having a great time watching it again.

I have a short assignment to do before tomorrow... and then work tonight. Hopefully that'll get done today, and won't be left until tomorrow morning like last time.
silverthunder: (Edward - Hee)
Well, it was quite a weekend! I had tons of fun in Vancouver, especially at Les Miserables! My god, it was awesome! It was three hours long, but it seemed so much shorter... I could've sat there and watched for a lot longer. Damn, what a great musical.

I seriously hope I'll get a chance to see it again some time. It was absolutely wonderful.

Our hotel was pretty good, too. We were staying at the Delta, which had very nice rooms - and we were on the 19th floor. Yeah, I'm a geek, I thought it was incredibly cool. There was a decent view of the city from up there. It was a lot of fun.

And yesterday, I got to go shopping. I went back to the Crystal Mall, to Sakura Media and Evertoys for some more anime stuff. There was a lot there. I debated with things like a Gundam Seed special with wackysubs, the Hikaru no Go character CD with the very attractive picture of Hikaru, Akira, Waya, and Isumi on the front, the Kyou Kara Maou soundtrack, and - well - soundtracks for just about any anime I could think of. It eventually came down to Gundam Seed OST 3 vs Gundam Wing OST 1, and I decided on GW, because 1) I think it's a better series, 2) I know the music better, and 3) it was five dollars cheaper. Actually, it was only $10 total. I seem to have gotten into a good habit of finding well-priced Gundam Wing merchandise.

And it turned out to be a good call, too. I found all three Gundam Seed soundtracks available for download on Box Torrents, but none of the GW soundtracks.

I'll have to buy more GW CDs if and when I'm back in Vancouver.

Other than that, I picked up some FMA stuff. An action figure of Edward, a keychain of chibi Alphonse with a bird on his head, a tin case with Roy and Ed on the cover that came with a mini-notepad decorated with pictures from the anime, and some stickers.

So, yeah, a pretty successful trip.

The down side? I've gone four days now with only about 200-300 words of NaNo written.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Well, I'm about to leave for Vancouver... I can't wait to see Les Miserables. Best birthday present I ever got. It's going to be absolutely awesome.

And then I'm going to the Crystal Mall to pick up more anime junk. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for Gundam stuff this time, too. Heh.

Last night was the last time I'll hang out with V until after Christmas. That is sad... damn. The last three days went by so *fast*. It's unbelievable. We had a great conversation until pretty late last night about the Gundam pilots. It's fantastic to be back into GW - just because of chats like that one, if nothing else. I'm enjoying re-watching the series very much.

And I'm going to miss V...

In any case, I'll be gone all day today and won't be back until tomorrow in the afternoon some time. I'll probably have lots to check when I do get home.

Isn't that always the case?
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I actually sort of took the day off from writing for NaNo yesterday, without deciding to beforehand. It's okay because I'm ahead, and I wanted to spend time with my friends.

I did some Gundam Wing viewing in the morning, and then Jo and Adam came over and we watched more of it. Jo was so impressed with the set that she bought the same sort of thing for Escaflowne. V and Jen joined us later, and we watched more until I had to go to belly dancing. GW is the only anime V actually likes - and it is lovely. I enjoyed watching it very much.

I'm watching the whole series through by myself in Japanese, even though I mostly prefer the dubbed voices. I've never actually seen the original, so I figured now that I have the opportunity...

Yeah. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Also, last night we went out for dinner and then bowling. It was a lot of fun and I totally spaced on my quiz today, which means I got up a bit early this morning so I'd have time to review the material being covered.

I'm not really worried. I'm getting an A in that class and this quiz is only worth about five percent or so.

Anime club meeting today, and then more hanging out with V and Jo. Excellent.
