For whatever reason, I haven't watched any more episodes of Gundam Seed recently. I think I'm just stalling now. Heh. Don't really want to watch episode 29 right before Christmas.

Bleh... oh well.

We'll see what happens, I guess.

I didn't do a hell of a lot yesterday anyway. I tried to get some writing done, and that didn't really happen. I mostly cleaned up my picture folders and looked up more pictures and such online. It was a slow, lazy day - which isn't bad, actually.

It's nice to be on Christmas break.

My sisters are home from Kelowna. Leslie's boyfriend is an anime fan. Isn't that odd? She was talking to him on the phone, and now he wants to watch my Gundam Wing DVDs. She refused to watch them with him.

Not surprised.
silverthunder: (Koushiro)
I've said this numerous times already, but... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, V! Hope it's a great one!

This song is surprisingly good... I usually don't like image songs. I guess it IS Seki Tomokazu, though - I liked his voice when he did singing for Weiss, and I like it now. Plus, I like the feel of this song.

Damnit... the universe is conspiring to make me like Yzak. I didn't like him at first!

I did manage to get stuff accomplished yesterday. That Christmas story I'm working on is coming right along. And I finished the epilogue for Threads of Fate, my NaNoWriMo story! So it's done!

This is the first original story I've finished, and even though it's pretty crappy and rushed in places, I am proud of it. So last night I arraged it all into parts in my GreatestJournal memories, and you can find it all here if you are interested in reading it. Some of the parts end in weird places, since I tended to post when I finished writing for the day - which wasn't always at the best place to end a part.

But it's done! I finished it!

I am so proud.

I had another weird dream last night. This one was about characters from Digimon 02. I have no idea why. Daisuke had lost his mind in some kind of attack, and acted kind of vague and childish. Takeru and Yamato were looking after him for a while. Ken was evil. They were the only ones in the dream. Yamato ran into trouble somewhere, and Takeru left Daisuke in a place he thought was safe to go rescue him. Daisuke got confused and left to go after them. He ended up running into Ken, who pretended to help him even though he had no intention of doing so and was just trying to run him around in circles. And yet Daisuke still somehow finds Takeru, who tells him Yamato is missing and that he should stay away from Ken, because he's evil. For some reason, Daisuke thinks Ken knows where Yamato is, so he sneaks away from Takeru and goes to ask him to set him free. Ken lets him think that he does know, and tricks him into being his slave. I think I woke up around that point. It was really bizarre - and a lot like a bad Ken-as-Kaizer fanfic. Heh.

I did watch Digimon last night, but it was Frontier, not 02. Who knows where these things come from? The mind is a strange place.

So I watched the Return of the King extended version yesterday with the bf. It was excellent. All of the extra scenes were very good, they fit in well, and there are things now that are so much clearer than they were before.

I love that movie so much.

And now I'll be watching the interviews and the commentaries and everything else. It'll be fantastic.

In other news, the second FMA OST and Roy's song file are available for download on bit torrent. I don't have the links just now, but they're up on the fm_alchemist community. I downloaded them last night, and am only listening to them now for the first time.

I have all of my Christmas presents now except one. And that one is for my aunt, who I can probably get away with a gift card for Chapters or some chocolate or whatever. I'll think about it a bit.

In any case, I'm almost done and that's good. Now I just have to wrap everything.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
So I had my last exam yesterday. It was pretty brutal. I'm so glad I had a high grade going in. I don't think I'll manage that 'A' I wanted, but I'll probably get at least a 'B'. I checked my grade for Women's Lit and noticed I got a 'B+', which is good. I think that's also what I pulled off for Philosophy, so it looks like that'll be my average for this term.

Excellent.

I'm working on four different stories. And that's not counting the unfinished stuff on my site that I still haven't touched. One is Game Over, which I did work on yesterday for a while. Another one is the last of my NaNo story, which really only needs a page or so. Then a Christmas story that I'm hoping to get done in time for Christmas. And the last is a piece of fanfiction.

We'll see how everything goes.

I watched another episode of Gundam Seed this morning. It's all Fllay's fault! All her fault, damnit! And poor Sai... The girl is evil!

Yeah. Anyway...

I also had a very messed up dream last night where Yzak and Dearka came down to earth and were hiding out in someone's back yard. Then the Blue Cosmos people came in and were looking for them. And since I haven't seen the Blue Cosmos people yet and have no idea what they look like, in the dream they were these old people who glowed blue. And they could sense Coordinators. They were all spooky and going around trying to sense out Yzak and Dearka, who were being toyed with by the little girl in the family whose back yard they were hiding in. A bunch of stuff eventually got blown up, and they went back into space vowing revenge.

It was very funny. I may just have to file it in with the Weiss Kreuz dream where Aya was investing in a birdcage.
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
I have my last exam today... Networking, of course. I have yet to study, but that's always the way I seem to do these. It is at seven o'clock tonight. I'm heading up to the school a few hours before it starts to pack everything into my brain.

I know, I know, it's stupid, but it's worked so far. So... why not?

I'll be picking up a copy of the Return of the King extended version along the way. I've got less money right now than I really should, but I've been planning to buy this since I bought the first one, and I *am* going to own it. That's just all there is to it.

Still two more Christmas presents to buy, too...

Meh, I'll get around to those. I need to go shopping - after my exam tonight, of course. Maybe tomorrow.

I've watched the first fourteen episodes of Gundam Seed now. Yzak and Dearka are probably sleeping together. I dislike not-Zechs. I don't like Natarle or whatever her name is much either. The fact that the civilian shuttle was blown up is of course *all* Fllay's fault.

That's pretty much my take on things so far.
silverthunder: (Trowa - Smile)
Um. Yesterday was pretty much a boring day. I worked until three, and then was on the computer for a while. I didn't feel much like watching anime, so I did none of that. Possibly because I had a headache and just wanted to read for a bit.

We have our tree now, but haven't decorated it yet. It's not a bad tree.

I did watch episode 11 of Gundam Seed this morning. The last of the episodes I've already seen - so from now on I'm in new territory. I have decided that everything bad that happens is Fllay's fault. She's going to be my scapegoat from now on.

Seriously, I don't think I've seen a character in anime that I've liked less than her. And I've hated a fair number of anime characters in my time.

I don't care much for not-Zechs either. And yes, I know he has a name. I'm just not using it. Maybe it's because I keep comparing him to Zechs, and he's not matching up.

Ah well.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I watched through episode 10 of Gundam Seed yesterday. Just felt like it, I guess. One more episode, and I'll be through all the stuff I've already seen.

On to new material after that.

Urgh. Um. Nothing else to write about for yesterday. I had to work at three. It wasn't much fun, but it wasn't a night of hell, either. I came home and read some fanfiction.

That was fun.

I only have two shifts on the next schedule. That's good, and it makes sense since I asked for so many days off for our holiday, but it means I'll have to do some saving. I still have two more presents to buy, but that's okay. After that, I'll probably want to try and hold onto my money.

... And that'll last until I see some new anime thing that I *need* to have.

That reminds me, the first FMA DVD comes out in February...

Damnit. So much for saving.
silverthunder: (Nicol - Never forgotten)
I made a new icon. Actually, I made two new icons. One of them is only at GJ, but one is here as well. Actually, I'm using it now. How about that?

I finally got around to watching episode six this morning. I'm looking forward to episode seven, so I think it's all okay for now. I can watch the rest of the series now.

Yeah, yeah. I take my anime way too seriously. I know that.

I did some work on Game Over yesterday. Not a lot, but it's better than nothing at all. I might try to write a Christmas story - it'd only get posted on GJ, but that's okay. We'll see if it works out and then talk about where to put it after that.

Other than that, pretty much all I did yesterday was read a lot of fanfiction. I am enjoying my vacation very much. I still have an exam on Tuesday to look forward to, but I'm not so concerned about that right now.

Work tonight. Bleh. Oh well.
silverthunder: (Default)
Well, I watched up to episode five yesterday before I went looking for spoilers and found that bit of information. Meh. I'll watch more eventually. I think I've just about come to terms with it.

I think this is the first time I've come across this exact situation when watching an anime. Heh. Kind of weird, isn't it?

Ah well.

At least this should probably keep Gundam Seed from becoming obsession material. I'd rather just enjoy it without worrying about obsessions and stick with Wing for now. I still think GW is the better series, so... yeah.

'Cause I'm a silly person, I went and re-watched a bunch of GW episodes yesterday to make myself feel better. Then I read fanfiction. That helped too. I'm pretty much all good now. And if anyone says 'he's just an anime character' to me, I don't know why you're reading this journal in the first place. You weirdo.

In other news, I really like this song. It's pretty.
silverthunder: (Default)
Oh wow. One of many, MANY reasons I am fervently glad that I am not American.

Check this out

And, apparently, this *isn't* censorship? There's a hole in this guy's logic somewhere. As soon as you start saying 'You can't write about this' or 'We're going to ban books on this', IT IS CENSORSHIP! Get over yourself!

Someone want to confirm for me if this is true? Is there really a dickhead like this in power? On second thought, don't. I think I'd rather pretend this is a completely false article.
silverthunder: (Trowa - Smile)
So I've watched three episodes of Gundam Seed so far, and they're episodes I've already seen. Heh. I'm slacking off. But I guess that's okay. I really like the series, but I can't see obsession material at the moment. Maybe it's because I can't find a slash couple that makes me want to write or read fanfiction.

I mean, sure Kira and Athrun are cute and all, but I also like Kira and Laccus. And that's *het*. Geez. I'm slipping or something.

In any case, I want to see more of the series. It's got all the same themes as Gundam Wing, but the feel is so different. I think it's great how they manage that. I still definitely prefer Wing, though. It was just... wonderful. And had all those nice pretty boys to slash off as I pleased.

Still not doing much writing. I guess I'm entitled to a break now that NaNo has ended, anyway.

But I am doing little bits on a sort of silly project. Meh. I'll get back to Game Over when I don't have so much anime to distract myself with.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Wow, yesterday was productive. Not in a good way. I mean, not in a writing-way. In an anime-watching way, yes, it was incredibly productive. I'm just about caught up with Kyou Kara Maou now - I've watched through episode 25 now. I also watched the first two episodes of Gundam Seed, and last night I enjoyed the Endless Waltz movie.

Ah, Endless Waltz. So wonderful. I got randomly inspired and did a little goofy EW summary-type thing. It's on GreatestJournal here in case anyone likes my stupid humor. If you haven't seen EW, you might get a little confused, though.

Ah well. Good times.

I still have Christmas shopping to do. I'm pretty sure it won't get done today, but I still do have it to do.

I also got my English essay back yesterday - I got a 77% on it. Thank god! I am very, very, very relieved. That essay was worth 40% of my grade, so I really needed to do well on it. 77% is a B. I'm happy.

I'm off to waste time and read fanfiction. Excellent.

I don't usually post these, but I thought the result of this one was surprisingly accurate.

Yesterday didn't go too badly. Okay, so I didn't get my assignment working, but I gave it a very good try and sent the non-working code in to my teacher. I am acing that course, so I'll be fine with this. Just have to worry about the final exam next week now...

My final exam yesterday went well. I knew all of the answers - the only thing that took me time was putting them into words. I was done an hour after the exam started - which is pretty good, for a two-hour exam.

I'm pleased.

Today, I intend to go pick up my essay and journal for English. She said she would have them marked and outside her door by today, so I'm heading up to get mine back.

Also, yesterday I decided I needed to delete some of those episodes sitting on my computer. I have them all burned to CD, but I leave them there until I watch them. So I watched four episodes of Kyou Kara Maou. The last one I finished with was episode 22. There are still four sitting there waiting for me, but that's okay. I'll probably get to at least some of them today.

Good series, that one.

I'm downloading Gundam Seed Destiny for when I finish Gundam Seed. Those are getting burned to CD and then deleted, because I probably won't watch them for a while. I'll just break out the CDs when I'm finished with the first series.

I have lots of anime to watch - just in time for Christmas break. This is very good.

My parents have decided not to have our dog put to sleep. I think this is a good thing. He's still reasonably healthy... Anyway, I don't want to have to say goodbye yet. We've had Prince since I was nine years old!

But at least I don't have to let go yet. That's good.
silverthunder: (Edward - Only human)
I came home from work yesterday to the news that my mother thinks it's time to have our dog put to sleep.

He's old. He has trouble walking sometimes. He can't hear properly and we think that he doesn't see well either. He's peed on the carpet twice now, so we think that he doesn't have complete control any more.

... Somehow, the thought of putting him to sleep doesn't seem right. He still wags his tail whenever he's given attention. I want to think my dog is happy.

I don't know.

I have my first exam today. I'll be at the school a couple of hours before it starts so I can study some more. Then I'll be staying there for a couple more hours after to give that assignment one last try before I send it in incomplete.

Also, someone swiped the bathroom key at work. That alone isn't news, but someone also seems to have stolen the toilet seat. That's kind of weird.
silverthunder: (Trowa - Smile)
So yesterday I did absolutely nothing of any use. I've more or less resigned myself to the fact that the networking assignment will go unfinished, but I'll get partial marks so it doesn't matter.

Ah well.

I watched the last three episodes of Gundam Wing. Absolutely lovely. And then the Endless Waltz OVA. I am happy. Despite the fact that I caved and bought junk food to pig out with.

It was worth it.

I have to work tonight, but I'll probably watch a couple of episodes of Kyou Kara Maou and possibly one of Gundam Seed. I want to save the Endless Waltz movie for a bit since I just watched the OVA. I will watch it probably tomorrow after my exam or on Tuesday.

It'll be great. I love Endless Waltz.
silverthunder: (Duo - Heh)
School is over! Well... classes are over. I have an exam on Monday, but we'll ignore that for now. A also still have that one last assignment due on Monday, but we'll ignore that too. It's all good.

Also. I must mention to [livejournal.com profile] sailormac that I think you are awesome. Thank you thank you thank you! Yes, I got the DVDs today, and they work just fine on my player! Wow! All of Gundam Seed for free... There are no words. You so rock.

I've got two more episodes and Endless Waltz to watch for Gundam Wing... I love the last few episodes, so I'm happy. I'll probably watch them all today, since I don't have to work and am finished school.

I'm debating whether or not to go purchase some junk food to celebrate. We'll see.

Worked a little on Game Over yesterday, but other than that, writing is slow. But I guess I deserve a bit of a break after NaNo.

Still. Must write.
silverthunder: (Quatre - Fantasy World)
So I deleted two of my icons that I was getting tired of, and uploaded three others. Including a new default icon. Isn't it pretty?

V thinks it's a weird picture, but I like it anyway.

That program isn't working, but now it's for a different reason. I got it working yesterday, but there was still an extra part I had to add, and I can't make *that* part work now. I have to see my prof after class today. We have a quiz, so I'll probably end up having to wait for him.

Fun times.

I haven't studied for that quiz, either. I didn't do a lot of work yesterday. I read a lot of fanfiction and lounged around.

Someone read Karasu's story, Middleverse, and stole the idea to write a story of their own. This wouldn't be a problem, but they didn't email to ask her permission until they had posted three chapters already. Also, there is nothing in the story that gives her credit for the idea, and the girl was talking about trying to *publish* it.

Karasu wasn't too happy about that. She was going to email the girl back and ask her to credit... I wonder how that went.

This same girl reviewed Game Over some time last night. I don't think she'd copy that idea since it isn't as creative and fun as Middleverse, but still. It's worrying.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse)
School has calmed down considerably. The due date for the networking assignment was pushed back - again - to Monday. That's when my first exam is, so I'll try to get it working before them. Mine seems to work but it doesn't stop when it's finished working.

I'll have to figure out what's wrong and fix it.

Other than that, not a lot to report. I spent some time working on other writing projects yesterday. Game Over, for one, and. Um. Maybe a little fanfiction.

Darn it all...

I watched episode 45 yesterday. Hilde infiltrates Libra. It seems almost ridiculously easy - at least until she tries to get away. Heh. Oh well. Gotta love Duo in that ep.

I'm almost finished with the series. And I know there's Endless Waltz to watch afterwards, but still. I'm sad.

Oh well.
