silverthunder: (Nicol - Never forgotten)
It's snowing again, and we already have WAY too much snow. I hate snow! Why won't it stop? I don't want to have to walk to school in this next Monday...

Bah. Yes, I'm whining. I might as well. I don't have much else to put in this entry.

Jer and I finished watching Gundam Wing - the only thing left now is Endless Waltz, and then we move on to Gundam Seed. I still prefer Wing to Seed, just because I'm so obsessively attached to the characters of Wing in a way that I haven't managed with Seed.

Except Nicol, but we all know where THAT leads. Bah.

Oh well.

I've almost finished scanlating that doujinshi - it's Hikaru no Go, the last of the ones I bought several months ago. I just need to do the two notes - one at the front and one at the back. Then I'll be done.

Maybe I'll do that this morning, and post a link later on.

We'll see.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse - Sleep sounds good)
Well, yesterday I didn't get a lot done. Heh. Actually, I find that I get almost nothing done when I have lots of time. It seems like I only ever want to work on my stories and such when I have other things I should be doing.

Figures.

I did watch another couple of episodes of Gundam Seed... I really don't want to see episode 29. I've watched 21 so far. Episode 20 had Nicol playing the piano. WAH! I love him...

Damnit...

Every time I see Yzak and Dearka now, I keep thinking 'they're sleeping together'. It is branded onto my brain. I can't get rid of it. From now on, they just ARE, and nothing will convince me otherwise.

Christmas junk food is almost gone, which is good because I keep eating it. Thankfully, I'm not the only one or I'd be eating a lot more. It's not really good for me.

I saw Jeremy last night and we did a lot of work on the new project. I'm hoping to do a little more tonight, but tonight we'll also be watching more Gundam Wing... We're almost done with the series, and then it's on to Endless Waltz.

Excellent.

I also found a doujinshi that I scanned and which [livejournal.com profile] insaneneko gave me the translation for, but I'd never gotten around to scanlating it. I'd almost forgotten about it... so I started scanlating. It's about a third of the way done. I'll hopefully do more today and possibly finish it.

We'll see, I guess.
silverthunder: (Touya and Yukito - Serenity)
Well... V left yesterday. Back to Victoria to go to school again. I know I'm going to miss her, because I did last semester. It seems like such a long time until April...

I promise I won't get married, though, V - even if I do suddenly break up with Jer for that mysterious redhead.

Especially not in Vegas.

We did our Secret Santa exchange yesterday - it was good to see Jen again for a while, and to meet her new boyfriend, who seems to be really nice. I'm glad she's with someone who makes her so happy. Jen also did tarot readings for me and V, which is the explanation for the message above.

It was fun, anyway.

Last night, I just got to chat with V and Jo... It was good to spend some time with just my friends and no one else. I haven't seen a lot of them lately, and I've missed them. I'm hoping I can keep in closer contact with everything. I think, if I make the effort, it can be done.

I intend to do so. I think it's worth it.

In completely unrelated news, I made a new icon yesterday. Card Captor Sakura... heh. I like it, though. I also cleaned up some of my others. They look a little bit nicer now.
silverthunder: (Wufei - Oh yeah)
I have a nice little vacation coming up here - a vacation from everything, really. No school. No work. No busy extended family. I have a complete week off.

It's nice.

I intend to try and work on Game Over. I'd really like to get part five finished soon, because it's been a while. I can partly blame that on NaNoWriMo, but I've also let it sit too much. I need to get a nice chunk of writing done on it.

Also, the new project, though. Sarah and I had a great conversation about the thing, and it looks like it's going to go okay at least for a while. We have quite a bit of material. I need to see Jeremy tomorrow or Wednesday and get a bit more worked out - then I'll be able to get this really going.

Excellent.

So today, V, Jo, Jen and I will hopefully get to do our Secret Santa exchange... Hopefully. I'd really like to see that happen, since V is leaving tomorrow and we really should take care of it before she leaves.

It'd also give me a chance to see Jen's new place. That might be nice.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I got some writing done yesterday. As usual, not much, but that's okay. I'll take things slowly if I have to.

It's all good as long as I get there in the end.

I also had time to watch two episodes of Gundam Seed. Unfortunately, my DVD player decided that it didn't like me stopping the disc for a while and then coming back to press play later on. So for whatever reason it skipped over two episodes and started playing the one after them.

And I, being a complete moron, didn't notice this until most of the episode had passed and I realized that some of it didn't make sense and I hadn't seen any of the things that were in the previews for that episode.

Heh. Figures.

Oh well... I'll just have to watch the two episodes I missed.

I work tonight. Fun times... I hate work, but I haven't been getting many shifts, so I guess I can't complain. After tonight, I won't work again until next Sunday, and school doesn't start until next Monday.

Which means I'll probably have a lot of time on my hands.

Hopefully I can make good use of that.

I hung out with V last night. We went for dinner and then rented a movie - "All Over the Guy", which I've already seen but not for a while. It was very good. We had more fun conversation, which is always a good thing. I don't want her to go on Tuesday.

I guess it had to end some time, though...
silverthunder: (Trowa - Smile)
Happy New Year's!

Hopefully everyone had fun last night - and in the last year. Overall, anyway. It's a brand new year, and we're halfway through the decade. It's weird to think about, hm?

In any case, I had to work yesterday, but that wasn't too bad. There weren't so many people that it got really busy, and I got everything done that I needed to do. I work again tomorrow, but today I'm just going to relax and do whatever.

Last night was fun - I went over to Adam's house with V. Jeremy showed up later, and we were all (sort of) watching Pirates of the Carribean. Mostly talking, though. It's been a while since we've all been together. It was a lot of fun.

I enjoyed it, anyway.
silverthunder: (Default)
First off, before I forget, does anyone know how to make fonts come out smoother when using Photoshop? Mine always seem to come out sort of choppy. Also, what font is best for manga/scanlations?

If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

Yesterday, I stayed home all day and did nothing. I probably should've taken that book back to the library, really, but no. Another ten cents added to the fine. I'm so incredibly lazy...

Ah well. I'm on vacation. I can be lazy if I want.

Did some work on a couple of things. Game Over part five is inching toward being finished. I even did some work on a fanfic I haven't worked on in a couple of years. It's an extremely crappy fanfic - I'm trying to improve this chapter so at least this part will seem less crappy.

It might just be a lost cause, but at least I seem to be getting somewhere. Maybe one day I'll even be able to post it.

I have to do some research and serious thinking about the new project. I visited a couple of sites with 'dos' and 'don'ts' and helpful tips, and I think I might revise the intro I'd planned. I'm sure I can do this.

I work at two today. Only until six, though. Then I'll be doing something with V, Jo, and Adam. And maybe Jen? I can hope...
silverthunder: (Wufei - Oh yeah)
So I'm sort of working on a new project - it's not a new story, that's all I'll say. I don't want to give away the details just yet in case it all falls through. So far it's looking like a lot of fun, though.

I'm very excited about this. I hope it goes well.

I have only seven episodes of Gundam Wing left to watch with Jeremy, but I think we might be busy on the nights I see him working on this new project, so it'll take longer to watch them. That's okay, though - there's all the time in the world for GW.

Other than that, yesterday was uneventful. I have to return a book that is overdue at the library. It fell off the chair I put it on, so I forgot that I still had it. Meh.

Oh well.

Tomorrow is New Years Eve. I have to work from two until six, but that's not too bad. Probably after that I'll be doing something with friends. I'm not sure what we'll be doing, but I suspect it'll be the same thing as every other year.

Should be fun.
silverthunder: (Jyou - It can't end like this)
I had to use this icon, because I think it's great. Poor Jyou.

He gets all the best lines.

In any case, yesterday I got a bit of work done on a couple of different things, but not a whole lot. I'm about to lead into the illusion in the fifth chapter of Game Over, which means I have to make a more concrete plan of what's going to happen in the illusion.

I know what I *want* to do, but it's still fairly vague. Must decide on details.

I also watched an episode of Kyou Kara Maou and the second half of that Gundam Seed episode I tried to watch over Christmas. It looks like KKM is starting to get sort of serious, which totally throws me off. It's not supposed to be serious!

Ah well. Also, the thing with the souls was incredibly transparent. I've already made a guess about where the second one goes, and what it means, and I'd be willing to bet money that I'm right.

The fact that Earth's Maou is named Bob is always just plain amusing.

Also, last night V and I went to see National Treasure, which was an excellent movie. I mean, not that it's realistic in any way, shape, or form, but it was entertaining, it had good music, and it held your interest right until the end. Also, the acting was very good. I love Sean Bean.

So, in my opinion, a very good movie. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
silverthunder: (Quatre - Don't give me that look)
I uploaded more icons - just a few so far - in celebration of my new icon space. Three Gundam Wing and one Hikaru no Go. I'll have to decide on more as well...

This one, I made just last night as I was uploading new icons. I like it.

Mwaha.

So last night I got to see V again, for the first time in FOREVER! That was a lot of fun! We watched a few bits from the ROTK DVDs, and then a bunch of Gundam Wing. And then talked until we both got really tired. It was still pretty early. I think we're getting old.

But it was fun.

I have a lot of stuff to watch now, but I'll probably take my time with it. S'all good. I tried to watch an episode of Gundam Seed while on vacation, but it played for half the episode and then wouldn't read it any more. I also tried for Kyou Kara Maou, but Megan's computer wouldn't play them.

Ah well. Still lots to watch now.

And tonight, we will go and see National Treasure. Finally.
silverthunder: (Default)
I'm home! Finally! Damnit, I am glad to be out of the car. My parents did come back with us, so Jessica and Dad drove in one car, and me and Mom drove in another. It was okay, but it got annoying after seven hours.

In any case, I am home now and all is well.

I didn't get sick after all - beat the odds, it seems. Everyone in that house was sick except for me. I don't know how I managed to survive.

And now watch me get sick tomorrow or something. That'd be kind of ironic.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that my 14-year-old cousin, Brett, is doing voice acting for anime. So far he's only done bit parts, but recently he was reading for a character called Kaoru from Flame of Recca. I might just have to try and get my hands on that when it gets to whatever episode he's in.

Anyone familiar with Flame of Recca? Know what episode Kaoru shows up in?

Anyway, I'm glad to be home. It was especially nice to see the pets again. And I hope now to go out and do something since I spent the day sitting in a car.

We'll see what happens.
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
Well, it turns out that we ended up paying a last visit to my aunt and uncle tonight, and they have Internet access. Actually, I should be taking the opportunity to spend a little more time with everyone, but there are just way too many people here right now - it's a little overwhelming. So I retreated down here for a bit.

Christmas has been decent so far. I got a new bag and wallet, the latest Harry Potter DVD, and Gundam Wing manga. I also went shopping today and picked up MORE Gundam Wing manga, plus volume three of Tokyo Babylon. So all in all, I'm pretty satisfied.

I did some work on a couple of stories, but that may not do me much good, since I can't find the disk I stored them on right now. It's kind of worrying...

Hopefully I find that before I leave. If not, I'll have to rewrite some stuff.

Bleh. Oh well.

My entire family has been sick. My Grandma, mother, and father picked up the flu late Christmas Eve, it seems, and were very tired and ill on Christmas day. My sister caught it in the morning on Christmas, too, and my other two sisters were sick today. I'm the only one who hasn't got it yet, but it's probably only a matter of time.

And we're traveling tomorrow... yeck. That's going to suck.

Mom and Dad are most likely going to be driving back with me and Jessica tomorrow instead of going to see Leslie and Megan's game in Edmonton - not only because they aren't feeling well but because it snowed and the roads aren't great. They're worried about us driving back alone and the drive to Edmonton might not be much fun also.

So, yeah. I'll be home tomorrow night. And even though it's been fun, I'm looking forward to it. Back to familiar surroundings, and friends. V, we should do something when I get home - I can't wait to see you.

I just hope I'm not sick for it!
silverthunder: (Duo - Heh)
Well, so I did get a chance to update before Christmas - purely by luck, it seems. My grandmother's computer is kinda broken, so I wasn't sure I'd get online. But we're at my cousin's house for a while, and he has Internet. Sweet!

Okay, anyway. We have arrived safely. And so far it's been fun seeing everyone again. Had a curling match this afternoon - I don't like curling, but it was fun with the family and all.

Heh. Yeah...

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] sailormac, thank you so much for more paid time! THANK YOU! I appreciate that so much! More time with my extra icons... That is just wonderful. I love you for it.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone! I have a present, sorta. I finished that Christmas story I was working on - it's a side story to Game Over. Set after the end of the story, which of course I haven't finished writing yet. There's a couple of little spoilers, but nothing major.

If anyone's interested, you can find it here. Hope you like!
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
We are leaving today at noon. I don't know if Grandma still has Internet access, so I might be cut off until the 28th. If she does, though, I'll be able to post updates by tomorrow night some time. Or the next morning.

I can hope. I know my Friends page is going to build up in the meantime, so it'd be really nice if she had Internet access. I'd like to be able to keep up with everyone.

Plus, I'm working on a holiday story, and if I finish it by Christmas, I'd like to post it for anyone who wants to see it.

It's not quite the same after Christmas...

Ah well.

Episodes 27 and 28 of Kyou Kara Maou are up for download. I won't have time to watch them this morning, but I think I'll burn them onto a CD when they're finished so I can take them with me. I will have Megan's computer in the car since she got a portable DVD player from her boyfriend and doesn't need it now. So I might be able to watch them along the way.

Excellent.

I watched episode 17 of Gundam Seed, and I am bringing my DVDs with me. I might be able to watch more of that one along the way as well... or when we get to the hotel, or at Grandma's house.

So far, I like Cagalli. She's the only female I've been more than indifferent to at this point in the anime. I think she seems pretty cool.

The more I see of Fllay, the more I dislike her. If that's possible.

If I don't get to update this journal again over my vacation, have a good Christmas, everyone!
silverthunder: (Duo - Heh)
Well... I managed to get through all of the Yami no Matsuei episodes I just received as my Christmas present from Jeremy. The dub actually isn't too bad - it's better than some. I don't like Muraki's voice, but Muraki is my least favorite character, so I can deal with that.

I was worried about how some of them would handle the emotional scenes in the last arc, but they didn't manage to butcher it, so it's all okay.

I still much prefer the original. But, well, that's normal.

Other than that, I had the Halfla last night. Mom chickened out because she didn't want to sit alone, but it was a lot of fun. A couple of friends did solos and such, and the show was great. There was a lot of stuff for sale that was really neat. Too bad I'm trying to save money... I didn't bring my wallet with me because of that.

I finally got around to watching more of Gundam Seed... I think I'm just stalling because I don't want to watch episode 29 before Christmas. But episode 16 was good. So far Cagalli seems kinda cool.

I'll withhold judgement until I've seen more of her, though.

Also, the attack on Archangel? Totally Fllay's fault.
silverthunder: (Roy)
Hey... Has anyone else watched the "Fun Facts Video" in the Descendants of Darkness: Tarot Curse DVD? I thought it was very funny.

Some of the facts )
silverthunder: (Trowa - Smile)
Yesterday was quite busy. I made a gingerbread house when I got home from work. My sisters were supposed to help, but they ended up... not helping. I made the thing. I can be proud of it.

It looks like crap, but that's okay.

Last night, I exchanged gifts with Jeremy. I got him the two-disc special edition of Hellboy, and two goofy Gundam Wing fanfics I wrote that were based on things he came up with.

My work is appreciated. I feel gratified.

I got the third and fourth DVDs for Yami no Matsuei. FINALLY! I kept meaning to get them myself, but never had the money when I happened to think of it. Now I have them. Excellent. I own the complete series now.

I'll probably watch those today. At least one of them, anyway. I also have to wrap presents and get ready for the Halfla tonight for belly dancing.

But I'll find time for anime. Somehow.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Got to hang out with Sarah yesterday for the first time in a long, long time. We went over to her place and I got to see her roommate's ferrets. And her cat, who is goofy. I finally showed her Kyou Kara Maou, which she thinks is great.

I had a feeling she'd like it.

Other than that, not much went on yesterday. I tried to go to bed early because of work this morning, and had more trouble sleeping than I usually have. I get the feeling I'm going to have a headache at work today. I've got aspirin with me just in case.

Stupid work...

I guess it's better that I have a shift or two before Christmas, though, since I won't be able to have any from the 22nd to the 28th. It'll be a small paycheck.

Speaking of which... I believe I get paid this weekend. Excellent.
