In a fit of inspiration, V and I designed this tonight.

I came home immediately to write down... the worst badfic ever written. At least, I hope it is. I'd hate to see anything that's worse.

Take a look. If you dare )

Feel free to make suggestions. This can be added to. Even the baddest badfic ever can still somehow be made worse.

Okay, yeah. I got my Digimon 02 manga in the mail today, and was very happy. And here's my opinion on them.

Cut for those who don't like hearing me rant/rave/etc )

And, for those who like quotes... Here's the list I made while watching my tapes with all the episodes of Digimon Tamers. Actually, if you're looking for amusing lines, the Digimon dub is one of the best things to search through. They've got all kinds of amusing things mixed in there.

Digimon Tamers Quotes )

I feel much, much better now.

Assignments are coming along good, so I thought I'd share what I scribbled out at work today. This is my summary of episodes 50 and 51 of Digimon Tamers. Mwaha!

Well, I finally got the fifth and final volume of the Digimon manga... for season one, anyway. Mwaha! And it's not bad... they managed to de-slashify the Tai and Matt fighting scenes... And the scene where Matt came back! They killed it! No slash! Grrrr... but for the most part, the storyline remains intact.

I have the whole first season now!

Memorable Moments )

On to season two!

(in December, when it's released)

Someone on LJ mentioned to me that they thought the original version of the third Digimon movie was even more confusing than the dub. I couldn't answer some of your questions, but I found a site that might help a bit. Hehe...

Anyway, if you want a fairly accurate summary of the differences between the dubbed movie and the original first three movies, check out this page.

I was bored at work today, and decided I wanted to do a brief, humorous summary of the (mostly in my head) romantic subplot of Digimon season two. So... anyone who's interested in that sort of thing, go ahead and check it out.

Read this if you want to lose brain cells )

Wow... I need psychiatric help.

Well, I have my Digimon manga... some of it, anyway... The bookstore accidently sent me volume four instead of volume two... I already have four so I got them to order two for me again. I did get volumes one and three, though.

Yay!

Okay, so here we go...

**Good things about the manga**

1. Less pointless chatter from the digimon
2. Lots of scenes with Izzy
3. Tai admitting he was glad to be holding Matt's hand
4. Mimi actually being cool since you don't have to hear her voice
5. NO Tai/Sora hints (unless you count him not letting her fall to her death)
6. Tai loves Izzy (no, I'm not going to get over it)
7. Extra or changed scenes that tended to be better that way
8. More accurate translations

**Bad things about the manga**

1. Rushed scenes, or ones that don't make any sense
2. Lots of cut material
3. NOT ENOUGH MATT!!!!!! (he had better be featured more in volume two and/or volume five)
4. Continued use of dubbed names (*cough*Kamiya*cough*)
5. Only Tai and Kari appear to have parents
6. No angsty issues (this could be why there is less material with Matt)
7. The Subzero Ice Punch scenario was only mentioned in passing
8. Extra or changed scenes that were better off as they were

I've decided, after reading this manga, that there is no way Tai could possibly be straight. Hmm... Well... He admittedly loves Izzy (platonic, my ass) and was grateful to be holding Matt's hand. But he gave Mimi a thumbs up and he didn't let Sora die, so he must love *them*.

I'm so glad I'm not a het fan. This is much more fun.

Manga Quotes )

*points to Izzy icon* The first and most intelligent anime redhead to become my favorite! Have I mentioned that I love him?

I was taking a nap after work, and when I woke up, decided to watch some Digimon. Not full episodes, because I still have those tapes coming for me that'll have all of season one, but clips and whatever else looked interesting. I came across a commercial I'd taped, from a while ago when Digimon was being shown on TV more often. And it made me recall how many amusing commercials Digimon had... *sniffle* Back in the day...

The remembered commercials )

You know, I've noticed that a lot of Daisuke yaoi fans hate Kari. I suppose it makes sense, considering he has a crush on her. And she's human enough to have flaws - most of which have been gleefully pointed out and picked apart.

I can't tell you how many Kari-haters point to the movie where she says that line about "making Davis jealous", with their eyes bugging out, and say 'See? SEE?'

So I think it's kind of amusing that in the original, it was Takeru who said "This should really make Daisuke jealous." Hikari didn't say anything of the sort.

Not very many people are likely to use that as fuel for their hatred of Takeru, though... After all, *Takeru* is a likable character. (I mean this seriously, too - I love Takeru)

Yaoi fans tend to have this hatred of females - especially females standing in the way of their yaoi. I'm not any less guilty of this than any others. I dislike a HELL of a lot of anime girls, and I'd be lying if I said that, for some of them, their interference with my yaoi had no part in that.

And hey, it's my right. I can dislike whatever characters I choose.

Kari is one of the few I like. Obviously, she's got flaws - she's a big hypocrite, for one. And she comes off as holier-than-thou a LOT of the time. But generally, she's not too bad. And if she had no flaws whatsoever... well... then she'd be a Mary-Sue type, wouldn't she?

But yaoi fandoms, for the most part, tend to be mostly made up of fangirls. And we're much harsher on anime females than we are on anime males. A bishounen needs to prove himself a jerk before we label him that. A bishoujo, on the other hand, has to prove herself *worthy* before we decide she's not on the black list.

It just doesn't seem fair, somehow...

I had a point in there somewhere in the middle of all that rambling, but I don't remember what it was... If anyone else has a clue, want to let me in on it?

I couldn't think of anything to put in this entry, so I thought I'd randomly select pairings I don't like, and try to explain why I don't like them.

Fun, hmm?

Let's start with Digimon, then. Pairing I don't like: Daikeru. Why? Well, that's a long story...

Okay. Anyway... It started with season 1. When I first got into the show, I'd never even heard of the show, and I liked the pairing of Taichi and Sora. Bleh. Of course, I encountered yaoi, and liked it much better, but the anti-Sora propaganda really got to me, and I ended up disliking Sora - who had, until then, been my favorite female character. Hikari became my new favorite female. Thus, I was determined *never* to like Daikeru because I would get lots of anti-Hikaru stuff - since both Daisuke and Takeru seem to "like" her. Besides, I like Takeru and Hikari together. So, I was very much afraid of Daikeru and avoided it like the plague.

And then... Kensuke came along with its wonderful Daisuke and Ken action and lots of hints for me to drool over, both when Ken was evil and when he turned good. So, after that, Daikeru broke up both Takeru&Hikari *and* Kensuke, so I had twice as much reason to dislike it.

And that's all. Nothing against the couple itself - it's a perfectly good couple with perfectly good hints and two perfectly nice guys involved. But I don't like it, and that's that for me, I guess.

Okay, next is Pokemon. Pairing I don't like: ummmm... none I absolutely dislike, actually. I even don't mind Satoshi and Kasumi any more. What can I say? It's all good.

Moving along then...

Gundam Wing. Pairing I don't like: there are many. But I'll focus on my least favorite - which is Dorothy and Quatre.

Ugh. Ugh ugh *ugh*! I can't even say how many levels on which I think that this is wrong! I *despise* Dorothy! I can't even say why; I just have this unreasoning hatred for her. Quatre is my favorite character, and I like him best with Trowa, who I think is very cool. But Dorothy... she is my *least* favorite character. I don't mind Hilde, and I can tolerate Relena, but Dorothy... oh no. She is evil. Never never *never* will I see her and Quatre together!

Reasons: okay. For one, Dorothy doesn't even encounter Quatre until near the end of the series. In fact, Dorothy isn't much of a character. She's basically created to be what appears to be Quatre's opposite, and turns out to be exactly like him. (but without Trowa to talk her back sane again) They fence with each other, and she stabs him. This is romantic? I don't see it. In fact, I don't even know why I'm arguing against this couple at all. I think the only reason people like it is if Quatre's their favorite character and they don't want him to be gay. Correct me if I'm wrong - otherwise, I'm leaving it at that.

Let's move on, shall we?

Last but not least, my most favorite-est anime at the moment, Weiss Kreuz. (Omi and Ken FOREVER! Yay!)

The couple I dislike: RanKen. Also known as AyaxKen, or AxK, or RK or whatever you want to call it. Like I care. Why? Well...

For one thing... there is no evidence. There seem to be a number of people who base their infatuation with this couple on one of two things. One, they saw a picture from the show, decided Ken and Aya were the hottest, and proceded to pair them off. Two, they saw the sheer number of fanfics available to them, or read a fanfic for the couple, and decided that this was the best pairing to go for. On the show, you see little to no real evidence. I watched the whole series expecting to see a good chunk of RanKen evidence, so as to explain the popularity of the couple. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

I went and looked at the manga next. I figured... well. If there's nothing on the show, obviously people are getting their hints from somewhere else. I found a site with scans and translation, and I understood a little better. All right... Aya and Ken appear to hate each other with a bloody passion. I see this all the time in fandoms, so it's not such a shock that they're being paired off a lot. However, there's a lack of romantic or sexual tension in this hatred. Maybe I'm just biased, but all I saw was a lot of pride and a mix of 'you're the enemy, you must die'. A little different from "Seeing you squirm is *so* delicious." Digimon is more suggestive than Weiss, hmm?

Third point. Who would be on top? A *lot* of people say Aya. Why? Because... Ken's younger and shorter, I guess. Then they procede to turn Ken into a weepy, weak, obsessive, clumsy, cute, blushing virginal type. Four out of those seven terms more closely describe Omi than Ken. And I think all of them but one can be used to describe Sakura Tomoe. I still have no idea where people got the idea that Ken is clumsy. I've never seen him drop a flower pot or trip over his own feet even once. Anyway... after they've turned Ken into Sakura-in-boy-form, they turn Aya into a caring, kind, open, warm-hearted young man who shows his cold side to everyone except Ken. Ummmm... ok. Now that we've turned Ken into male-Sakura, and Aya into Quatre... Hmm. Doesn't work, does it?

Anyway, yeah. Maybe in my next entry, if I still have nothing better to put in it, I'll add my reasons for liking my favorite couples.
