All I can say about yesterday is that NaNoWriMo is coming along pretty good. As of right now, I'm ahead, and I'd like to stay that way because I know I'll slow down when I hit that busy time for school.

Bleh.

Oh well.

Other than that... Um. Nothing. My word count is around 6700. That's not too bad. 43300 to go!

It's going to be a long month. But fun.

Anyway, I'm not going to keep giving the link - if you guys want to read the stuff, you know where to find it. I'm sure that not too many of you are interested in this crap, so I won't keep offering links.

I'm aiming for 15000 by the end of the week. We'll see how that goes.

In other news, really, REALLY glad I'm not American. Ugh.
silverthunder: (Roy)
Yesterday was insanely busy, as I predicted. I managed to get a thousand words written before I went to school - the prologue for the story - but after my morning classes, I realized I had to fix up my Article Summary, so I spent my break on that instead. Then I had my afternoon class and then work right away, so no time to play with the story until after nine.

I was so tired... damn. What a long day.

But worth it! 3045 words! That's not a bad start at all.

I'm hoping for about 15000 for the week. Is that ambitious?

I'm going to try anyway.

Oh, for those interested, I'm posting the story on Walking in Twilight. I have two posts up so far, one right after the other. If you decide to read, let me know what you think.

Off to finish up bits of schoolwork and then write some more.
silverthunder: (Edward - Hee)
It is pretty early in the morning - almost an hour before I usually get up. But... well... if I don't write *before* class, I probably won't have much time to do any of it until after work tonight.

Today is the first day of NaNo... and one of my busy days. School, more school, and then work. I intend to write between classes and after work. Hopefully this isn't too ambitious.

I want to see how close I can come to the ultimate goal. 50,000 words...

We'll see.

Also, for anyone who decides to read whatever crap I churn out, keep in mind that a couple of hours *studying* Ireland and looking at pictures is no match for actually *going* to Ireland, so I have no clue what I'm talking about, really. Thank you.

Hopefully everyone had a good Halloween. We did not let the cat out last night, for the same reason that the SPCA refused to sell people any cats a week before Halloween. People are freaks. Luckily, the cat didn't seem to want out, so we were all spared indignant kitty tantrums.

We had 42 kids come by our house. Not a bad turnout.

I'm off to check everyone else's journals and then write.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Happy Halloween!

Actually, I'm spending my Halloween in. I'll probably give out candy to kids - that's always fun - but I don't have a costume or anything. I'll probably just work on some homework. I need to do some reading and journal writing, and work on my program.

And writing, most likely. I actually need to do a bit more research before NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow.

We'll see how that goes.

Clocks were set back today. My sister almost went in to work an hour early - I caught her before she actually did. I still have to set my watch back, but the computer clock is correct.

Oh yes - the third and final part of Going Under is up now at ff.net here, and at mm.org here, and the forum. It'll also be up on my site as soon as I put it up there. Hope you guys enjoyed it!

That is also actually not all... For those who are following my original stuff, Game Over part four is up now at FictionPress, and you can find it here if you're interested.

I'll be working on part five today, but it'll be at least a month until I can work on it again after this. Assuming all goes well with NaNo.
silverthunder: (Edward - Repeat?)
I finished downloading the Tokyo Babylon OAVs yesterday! I also watched the first one yesterday right before I had to go to work. It was pretty cute, although very eighties. Not that I mind.

The second one won't play. In fact, when I try to play it, it makes my computer restart. I don't like that.

I guess I'll never see the second one. Which sucks.

Oh well.

Since I worked last night, I caught Gundam Seed at nine-thirty instead of on the eastern YTV which plays it at six-thirty. I decided a little while ago that Fllay was annoying. Now I *really* dislike her. I know now why most of the fandom is against her - I can't see why anyone would actually like her. She makes all the other female characters look good by comparison.

I didn't like the pink-haired girl's dubbed voice. It made her sound really childish. So far, she seems neat, but her voice is kind of annoying.

Decent series, though.

The system was still down yesterday for my networking program - I'll have to check and see if it's back up. I'm going to try and get some work done on my Article Summary for philosophy this morning, though, since because of the system crash, the program isn't due until next Monday. And the summary is due Friday.

We'll see how that goes.
silverthunder: (Edward - Repeat?)
So I did get a new assignment in lab yesterday - WAY too much to hope for that I'd get another week off. Anyway, though, it doesn't seem too bad... I suppose I shouldn't say that until I get a chance to test it.

The system's down right now. I've finished writing the program, but I can't test it. Damn...

I'm going to have to work on the Article Summary that's due next Friday instead. My goal is to get both things finished over the weekend, so that I can start NaNo on Monday without having to worry about the schoolwork I'm neglecting too much. The program and the summary are the two things that I have due *soon*.

I'm both nervous and excited about NaNo starting on Monday. This is my first time attempting it, so... yeah. Not sure what to expect just yet.

Hopefully I can get off to a strong start.
silverthunder: (Default)
Yesterday went reasonably well. I got my essay back, and discovered that I managed to pull off 73%, which is a B. Thank god. Grades are still up there. Also, I got my short assignment done and handed in.

Excellent.

The only thing I have now to work on is that Article Summary, which is due next week. I'm going to try and motivate myself to work on it this morning, because after the lab today I'll have another networking program to work on as well. And next week is when NaNo starts, so it'd be nice to have the homework situation more or less under control.

But I'm lazy, so we'll see.

Did some work on Game Over yesterday. Part four has been edited - again - and I'll probably ask [livejournal.com profile] tsaiko to take a look at it, because I love her and she's wonderful. It'll be posted soon, I think. Woo! I also started on part five, which seems to be coming along. I'm starting to suspect that Tristan is attempting to take over the story. He seems to show up a lot.

Part five is supposed to focus a little more on Sasenti, but I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to butt in and grab some more spotlight.

Glory hog...

In other news, for those interested, part two of Going Under is up. You can check that out on ff.net here, on mm.org here or on my site. I'll be posting it on the forum shortly, too.
silverthunder: (Edward - Only human)
Uh... hehehe... I got nothing done yesterday. Well, maybe I - no. No, nothing got done. It was my day off, and nothing got done. I have a short assignment due today that I will have to spend my lunch break on, because I was too lazy yesterday to do anything.

Eh, this is normal. When things are all due, I fly into a panic and try to finish everything at once. But when I actually have *time*, I don't work on anything.

Part four of Game Over needs work, just like I thought. The last scene is the only thing that really needs to be saved... I must just be bad at writing those illusions. Bah. Anyway, I'm cheating you guys with how much of Shane's impressions and feelings I'm providing, so I need to add more.

Really should've at least done THAT yesterday. But I didn't.

I also have to tweak part three of Going Under, but that won't take long and I'd rather work on Game Over first, since it's going to be a little tougher.

Oh yeah. So instead of doing all this stuff I should've been doing yesterday, guess what I did do? I watched Chrono (Chrno?) Crusade. Episodes one and two. Actually, I watched episode on Monday and just forgot to mention it, but still.

And then I downloaded the soundtrack. Heh.
silverthunder: (Roy)
So I guess I should work on that short writing assignment for tomorrow... It shouldn't take me long. Only three hundred words - that is nothing. I have to pick a couple of sentences from an essay we read and talk about what they mean to me.

And then I really should get working on my journal, because I'm falling behind. I need to interview my mother, since that was an assignment, and then I need to collect some articles on something and paste 'em in.

Shouldn't take too long, and it'll probably be fun.

I also accomplished my goal of working on Game Over last night. And... um... part four is done... But the last scene is just *so* crappy that I can't leave it like this. It needs help *badly*. I really have to get someone to read it and help me, and then I need to do some major fixing. Possibly even scrap the whole thing and rewrite it.

I'm hoping it doesn't come to that, though...

I won't be spending money for a while, too. I'll say why when I actually get what I just ordered. Blargh. I'm way too weak.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Back to school... Not that big a deal at the moment. I don't have anything due immediately. Wednesday, now... but I won't speak of that right now, since it's only Monday.

I didn't accomplish a whole lot over the weekend. There might've been more if I'd been able to go on the computer after work instead of having to wait while my sister was on and just watch TV. But no big deal.

We had a nice dinner for my dad's birthday. Today is when he actually turns 60, but yesterday was when we celebrated. It was kind of fun. Although, like all family dinners, it turned into a big loud discussion where everyone interrupts everyone else whenever they want to talk.

In my family, it tends to be the loudest person who gets heard.

Almost forgot... The Hikaru no ghost story, Going Under, is up. You can find it at ff.net here, at mm.org here or on my site. I'm still debating about the forum, but maybe I'll post it there in between classes. We'll see.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I get a lot of use out of this icon. Maybe it should be my default or something. Heh.

Work this morning... bleh. Not fun at all. But once it's over, I have the rest of the day off. Tomorrow is my dad's birthday, and we are celebrating today. It'll be fun.

Yesterday was fun. Sarah did come to the anime club meeting, and intends to come for other meetings, too. Yay! We watched episode seven of FMA, which everyone said was depressing. And so it is. I'm still pretty fond of that episode, though.

Er. For those wondering, I'm going to post part one of my new Hikaru no Go story tomorrow. Probably on ff.net and mm.org and I'm still debating about the forum, since I've been out of things for so long. But we'll see.

A week until NaNo... I need to get working on Game Over if I want to finish part four before then.
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
Well, yesterday was... yesterday. I didn't do a whole heck of a lot.

The last scene of Game Over is started, and I finally have a clear idea of what I'm going to do with it. Not crystal, but reasonably clear. Next chapter will probably be a bit easier, but of course I won't have much time to do anything with it, since NaNo will probably start up and then I'll be working on something else.

But, after a month, I'll probably be dying to get back to any story that isn't the one I'll be slaving over then.

We'll see, I guess.

Today is an anime club meeting, which Sarah was going to come to. I don't know if she will, since it is fairly early in the day for her. But she said she would, so... You never know.

It'd be fun.

Writing

silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse)
I just realized that I haven't made a completely pointless non-real-life-related post in this journal in quite a while.

I think I should fix that.

Fandom, original, and other writings )
silverthunder: (Default)
Almost slept in this morning. By which I mean I got up later than I usually do, but not late enough so that I wouldn't have time to write this entry. Heh.

It's Friday, though - only two classes. That's not too much to get through.

My computer assignment is done. I just need to set up my report now, since I have all the information, and then send it in. We were not given a new assignment yesterday, so it's all good. I have a little breathing room - which I should use to work on my Article Summary for Philosophy.

But... yeah. Might happen, but it's unlikely.

I had to hang out at the library for a little while before belly dancing yesterday, and I found some great books on Irish myths - the kind I'll be using in my NaNoWriMo piece. So I took the time to do a little bit of research. My story might sound a little bit like I know what I'm talking about now.

Not much, but a little bit. And that's something.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Well, my essay is turned in. My program has run. I need to do a graph and a traffic report, and then I can turn it in. It's due tomorrow by midnight, so I have some time.

I'm very relieved now that I don't have anything due in my English class until November 25th. Other than little pieces of writing that take almost no time at all. It just gives me some breathing room.

Which is hard to come by in school anyway.

Jer and I finished watching Full Metal Alchemist last week - that makes two series I've actually watched from beginning to end with him. FMA and Hikaru no Go. So tonight we started Orphen Revenge. By his request, since I showed him a couple of episodes a long time ago. It's fun. I haven't watched that series in a while.

Good to take an older series out and watch it again every now and then.

One more scene left in Game Over part four, and then it can be read through a million times and edited. And then posted. I just have to decide exactly how this scene will go.

I'll figure something out.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I'm a little worried about my English paper. I spent a lot of time working on it, and sent a draft to my teacher. But I never got a reply, so I edited it myself. Now I'm thinking maybe I should go in to see her.

It couldn't hurt, but I won't have a lot of time to fix the thing...

Meh. This is why I shouldn't procrastinate.

In better news, my program runs perfectly now. I just have to ask how long I'm supposed to run it for, whether or not I was using it properly for the test he wants done, and where to get all that information I'm supposed to include in my report.

Bleh. But at least this one isn't due until Friday.

In much better news, while I was waiting for a reply, I managed to finish off the Hikaru no Go ghost story. It's being beta-ed now. (thank you again, [livejournal.com profile] sailormac) So, yeah, that's an accomplishment.

I'm just really glad I don't work tonight.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Yesterday was busy as hell, and now I'm ready for a full morning of essay writing. Actually, I've already started. I'm through taking notes on Mholo's family's culture and the outside culture, and now I'm going to work on the *wild* culture.

Doesn't that sound exciting?

My teacher told me to send her a draft today, since I wasn't sure if I was doing things right. So when I've finished taking notes, I'm going to write the draft and send it in. Hopefully that'll be finished in time for me to go talk to my Networking prof before Sarah calls about lunch, because I still need to ask about that segmentation error and whether or not we're expected to record all 40 protocols listed in that header file.

And then when I'm back from lunch, hopefully I'll have a reply from my teacher and I can polish up my essay for tomorrow. Then I'll work on the program again and hopefully get it running.

Bah. Today's going to be busy, too. Meck.

Oh well...
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
Ugh. Back to school. And then back to work. I hate long days...

Especially since I have an essay due on Wednesday. I'll probably spend all day Tuesday working on it, but still. I need to find time to visit my prof in computing, since I had that little segmentation error in my program and don't know what's causing it.

Bleh.

That means I should've been working on my essay over the weekend. But of course, I didn't do that. That would've been *smart*.

It's also freezing because our new furnace isn't working. Since the people who installed it don't have anywhere to call over the weekend for help, we had to wait until this morning. It's very cold in this house.

Hopefully that can be fixed soon.

I'm also tired... It's going to be a long, *long* day...
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
So I watched episode two of Digimon Tamers yesterday... Actually, I noticed that most of what they changed is Ruki's attitude - made her a bit snarkier. I like her better in the original.

Ah well. Either way, she is cool. Can't change that.

Jenrya also got introduced in this episode. He said a couple of words, and... wow. Envy. Heh.

Actually, I wouldn't really make connections that often. The seiyuu does a good job of giving characters a distinct sound. And Envy and Jenrya are no where alike in personality, so yeah. No problem.

It's funny, though - that's two seiyuu in Fullmetal Alchemist who came from Digimon. And playing two major characters, too. In both shows.

Kinda cool.

Speaking of cool, it's freezing here. The weather decided to get cold all of a sudden, and our furnace has stopped working. Bah. It's a brand new furnace! What the hell?

I guess we'll find out when we can call in, on Monday.
silverthunder: (Roy)
Well, I'm going to be reasonably busy again today... I've got a performance this morning, and then work. I also couldn't get my program working yesterday - I have more questions to ask my teacher now. Bah.

Oh well. Maybe I'll work on the essay. At least outline it or something. It would be a good idea.

Meh. I think we all know how much of *that* is going to happen.

It looks like I *will* be going into NaNoWriMo, since I've got my story all plotted out now. Hopefully I'll still actually be *interested* once November gets here, since I have to wait until then to get writing.

I guess we'll see.

Oh, for Digimon fans, Wolf Pack Productions has the second episode of Tamers out now. Finally! I think the tracker is down right now, though, so you'll probably have to wait to get it.
