Just as I thought, I got a new assignment in Networking yesterday. I'm just about caught up on the journal, and I started the program right away, so I just need to ask the prof a couple of things and then hopefully I can get it running fairly quickly.

I still really should work on that essay. But I know I'll end up doing it the day before it's due.

Ah well.

Today is an anime club meeting. It'll be right after my afternoon class. I'll have to come home and hope my father isn't busy at work so I can get a ride down.

Also, on Saturday, I'm apparently going to dance at the park with some of the girls from my belly dance class. Heh. Should be fun. Hopefully it's not too cold.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I should do some English work today... I'm falling behind with my journal a little and I have a major essay due next Wednesday that I should at least make a structure for and start gathering quotes on to build my analysis around.

But I'm *tired*! I wanna sleep!

Bah. I guess that's no excuse. I'm a lazy, lazy person. I should go do my schoolwork.

It doesn't help that our teacher has now said that we're not handing the journals in until the end of the term. I could put everything off and do it all at the last minute.

I *shouldn't*, but I could.

Ah well, anyway, I think my midterm went well yesterday. There's only one question I'm not really sure about. And work was hell last night... Ugh. Truckloads to do and not enough time to do it all in. Plus, the washing machine broke just as I was starting to use it. It wouldn't drain. I had to leave the laundry in there until Ross came in and fixed it, because if I opened the door, water would've poured out.

Yeah. Fun night. I hate work.

Ah well.
silverthunder: (Edward - Only human)
My midterm exam is this morning. I studied for quite a while, and I'm pretty sure I know my stuff, but I'm still worried about it. Yerk... I'm sure there'll be at least one question where I just have no idea what to do.

It always seems to happen that way.

Other than that, I didn't do a heck of a lot yesterday. Sat around, did some writing. Game Over part four is sixteen pages so far. I also plotted out a background for a story I might use for NaNoWriMo.

If I decide to try that. I still might back out.

We'll see, I guess.

I also work tonight, after my midterm and my other classes. It's going to be a hell of a day. But then tomorrow I don't have class until two.

That's something, I guess.
silverthunder: (Edward - Hee)
I don't know why - I just had to make a post on this one. Maybe because I don't want to study just yet.

Creepiness, Hikari, and Protective Males )
silverthunder: (Edward - Repeat?)
So, Digimon 02 episode 13 is up now at Wolf Pack Productions, for those interested. I think this is the episode with that guy who drags Hikari off to the alternate universe, and then never appears again in any other episode.

Did anyone else think that was strange? I did...

I'm very eager to see how much of the Takeru/Hikari shipping was added by the dubbers. I'm guessing a heck of a lot.

My goal yesterday was to finish my program, which I finished fairly early on. I basically did nothing for the rest of the day, which was fun. Today I have to study for my midterm - I've been sorta reviewing the notes but not really - I should put in about two or three hours tonight to get *really* ready.

But I know my stuff, so I know that I'll be okay.

I got a random sort of idea for another story, and might join the NaNoWriMo thing with it. I haven't decided yet, though... I'm pretty sure I won't make it through the month anyway.

But it might be fun to try.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
So last night I had dinner at Jeremy's house... His family is very nice. I'm glad I went now, even though I was kinda nervous about it at first. We also had time to watch 'A New Hope' from the Star Wars DVD set. Looks very nice.

I haven't seen the original Star Wars in so long... Hopefully we'll get to watch the other two as well. I still have my VHS set, but it doesn't look as nice as the DVD set.

That's not really surprising, I guess.

Other than that, I worked in the morning yesterday. Fun times. But I managed to get my Friday shift switched to Saturday, so I can go to the Anime Club meeting on Friday. Excellent.

I intend to try and finish my program today and get it sent to my prof if I can make it work right away. Here's hoping.

I'm toying with a couple of different ideas for what happens next in Game Over, but I'll have to start on one soon enough. I'll probably decide not to upset my timetable and go with my original plan. It seems the best course.

Well, anyway, for those who are reading, thanks for your patience. I know it's taking forever. I'm doing my best and trying not to mess up with it.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I hate working in the morning... It's not as bad when it's school, because class only lasts for an hour or two. But when it's work, I know I'm there for six hours. And work just sucks, so six hours is torture.

Bleh. Oh well.

We had the anime club meeting yesterday... watched Oh My Goddess, Fullmetal Alchemist, Sailor Stars, and Inu Yasha. And did some chatting, which was fun. Good times.

The next meeting is on Friday now... which means I have to trade another shift at work. It figures - one of the few weekends I have off, and the meeting's going to be on the day *before* the weekend.

Ah well.

I also hung out with Sarah last night. We watched a couple more episodes of FMA, and had dinner. Apparently she can't work at the moment because there was a problem with her log-in code. So she's a little stressed. Hopefully she gets back to work soon.

Off to work now. Yay.
silverthunder: (Koushiro)
Forgot to mention in my last entry, for those interested, Digimon Adventure episode six is available now for download from WolfPackProductions. So, go and get it while it's seeded!
silverthunder: (Edward - The hell?)
I'm a little ticked off at my sister this morning... I woke up and went downstairs, and she had opened my expensive Japanse candy, and eaten two of them without bothering to ask me.

That's very annoying! Think about it. What the hell? I probably would've given her one if she asked. I sure as hell don't want to give her anything of mine NOW.

Bah. I hate my sisters. They're such creeps.

I turned in my paper yesterday, and I've just about finished my networking assignment. I suppose I should work on that essay for English that's due in a week and a half.

But I really don't want to.

Other than school, nothing much has been going on. I've been good and worked on my assignments.

Anime Club meeting today...
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
Almost forgot to update this... yeesh. My mind is going. Too much schoolwork.

I finished my paper yesterday. Then I got my mother to read it. She pointed out some trouble spots, and I edited it. Now it's done. I just have to print it out and take it to my noon class.

I also got another assignment for Networking, which looked a touch complicated, so I started it immediately. Good thing, because I have to ask my prof something now. He's leaving on Saturday morning and not coming back until Wednesday. Which is when we have our midterm.

I want my program working a long, long time before then.

Also, I'll blame Jer for encouraging me if I actually cave and *write* that FMA AU crackplot. Seriously.

In actual productive writing news, still inching along with Game Over. It's coming bit by bit whenever I happen to have time for it, but it *is* still being written, so never fear.
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
This icon takes on new meaning for today... I have to finish my paper this morning, and I've devoted from now until I have to leave for class (and possibly between the class and belly dancing) to that very end.

Must. Get. Passing. Grade.

Actually, a passing grade isn't really what I'm after - I want a reasonably *decent* grade. I can probably get a passing grade just by spending half an hour bullshitting an argument. I want to make it something good, and do well.

Doesn't everyone, though?

Last night I worked for the first time in a week. Fun times. I hate that place with a passion. At least it wasn't insanely busy, though.

I get a VERY long weekend for Thanksgiving, as it turns out. I don't have any classes on Tuesday anyway, and Monday is a holiday. So I don't start until Wednesday, and as it turns out, one of my Wednesday classes was cancelled too.

It evened out when my teacher informed us that we would have a midterm on that Wednesday, at nine o'clock in the morning.

Whee.

Ah well. School isn't unbearable yet. Keeping up with the workload and everything. It's all good.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Well, today's going to be one of those busy days. School, school, and work. And then tomorrow I've got a paper to finish up. It's all outlined, and I think my argument is pretty decent, so I'm okay for that. It'll still take an hour or two to write, but that's okay.

It's all good.

My program still doesn't work, but I'm going to ask my prof about that in class. It seems to be just one little problem, and I think I can fix it if I just put my mind to it.

Of course, that's due tomorrow by one... but I'll manage.

I'm very sad now that FMA is over. I'm comforting myself with the fact that the movie is coming out next summer, and the manga is still ongoing. New chapter every month!

But still. It's very sad.
silverthunder: (Default)
Yesterday didn't really treat me that well as far as being able to watch episode 51. I intended to watch it during my break between classes, but then I realized I still had reading to do before the class after that break, so... I sacrificed. Then I had intended to watch it after my afternoon class, but when I got home my sister was watching TV.

I refuse to watch on the computer with the TV on behind me. Not the last episode of FMA. No way.

Anyway, though, the TV was on from that point until I gave up and went to bed. But I did manage to get some of my homework for this week done. I have most of my program finished and my paper nice and outlined.

Excellent.

But, since I was thwarted yesterday, I made it a point to watch the episode first thing this morning. So now I have seen it.

Spoilers under here )
silverthunder: (Edward - Hee)
We had an early Thanksgiving dinner last night, since my parents will be away next week. (For my US Friends, next week is Canada's Thanksgiving) Next week, I'll probably be eating with Jeremy's family.

Two turkey dinners... not bad.

Last night was a lot of fun. My other two sisters came in from Kelowna, and we had the usual fun conversations where everyone is trying to talk over everyone else. Jeremy said he had a good time, and he seemed to get along with everyone, so it's all good.

Yay!

Somebody subtitled episode 51. I was going to wait to see if I could get my usual group's version, but of course I ended up caving. I haven't watched it yet; I was tired last night by the time it finished downloading. I debated watching it this morning, but I'll probably wait until after my morning classes.

I know... I'm sort of putting it off now, too. I *really* want to watch it, but at the same time, once I've finished, the series is truly over.

Also, though, once I've finished watching, I can discuss it with other people who have finished watching. Heh.

In any case, I want to see what happens!
silverthunder: (Koushiro)
Wow, yesterday was awesome!

Jo and I drove over in the morning - it was a long trip but we managed to have enough music and conversation to keep things interesting. I drove the whole way and we made it to the ferry with minimal confusion.

Not bad, really.

It was great to see V again! I missed her so much... I'm sure Jo felt the same. V also got to be the navigator as I braved the streets of Vancouver. No accidents whatsoever, and we only got lost once - for a very short time - on the way back to the ferry.

Riverdance was pretty good. Lots of nice colors and awesome dancing. The second half of the performance was the best, in my opinion. And then there was LP... V, you know who I'm talking about. Hehe. Lots of good times.

We didn't spend as much time in Metrotown as we could've - and that was really my fault, since I dragged everyone over to the Crystal Mall so I could visit Sakura Media. Funny thing was, I spent more time in the toy store across from it, where they had lots of Fullmetal Alchemist stuff. I wanted to buy it all... Unfortunately, I couldn't, but I did get a lot. A Roy action figure, a smaller Hughes figure, a pack of trading cards, some other collector cards, and a Photo Collection package. Action figures also came with a chibi keychain each. Roy was the cutest, so I picked him, and then Edward the second time, since he's my favorite. I wanted Al, too... but action figures were pretty expensive.

Maybe when I'm there for Les Miserables... Hopefully they'll still have them.

Also, I somehow wound up with two Winry action figures - one in regular colors and one in a sort of metallic color. If anyone wants those, you can have them both for $10. Let me know before I either try to sell them on ebay or just toss them.

Yeah, but it was a fun day. I was very happy. It was sad to see V back onto the ferry... time seemed to go way too fast.

But, we'll see her at Christmas. I'm already looking forward to it!

Jo and I had a lot of fun figuring out how to follow my dad's instructions in reverse to try and get back home - it actually went pretty well. We didn't get lost at all. But the last stretch of the drive seemed to take forever - we were both so tired.

Worth it. Definitely.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Wow... I wasn't sure I'd have time to update this journal before I left this morning. It is currently 5:30am here... I'm going to be leaving in fifteen minutes to pick up Jo.

Then it's off to Vancouver!

I'm very excited. Very sleepy right now, but I went to bed early so it's not bad. Mom got up to see me off and warn me to drive carefully. Heh.

Also, today is the day that the last episode of Fullmetal Alchemist airs. For those of you who will see it in raw Japanese, please use cut tags for ANY reactions. Please. I want to see it without any of that.

I love this series too much to have the last episode spoiled before I see it. I'm still annoyed with myself for reading the spoilers for episode 50.

Ah well... Off to Vancouver now! Hooray!
silverthunder: (Edward - Hee)
Tomorrow I'm going to Vancouver! Jo and I will be heading out at six in the morning (ugh) and we'll be meeting V at the ferry at 10:30. Excellent!

I'm so excited... I can't wait to see V again. It's going to be an awesome day, I can tell already.

I'm sorta vaguely interested in Riverdance, which is what we're going to see, but that's not really what the trip is *about*. It's just an excuse.

I talked to V on the phone last night - it just made me more impatient. I still have to get through today somehow...

Only two classes, though - I can make it.

I'm so glad I put this song on my tape. Actually, I'm glad that I finally made a new tape at all. There were songs on the old one that were annoying me. Now I have a new one with better music.

Just in time to drive to Vancouver with it.

Whee, I'm happy!
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Pretty much nothing happened yesterday... Except for school, and the usual. I have an essay due a week from tomorrow that I probably should work on, and a short assignment due next Wednesday, and no doubt I'll have another assignment given to me today in lab.

I should be working on some of this. But I'm not.

Oh well...

Vancouver on Saturday. I'm very excited! It's going to be a lot of fun, and I'll get to hang out with V! That is pretty much the whole reason I'm going - the excuse is Riverdance. Heh.

In any case, I'm looking forward to it. Two more days!

Also... V, I'm a little worried that I haven't heard from Jo at all. We're supposed to be leaving on Saturday morning, and I haven't been able to get hold of her to talk about plans.

It's making me very concerned.

Also, I still need to know which ferry... There are two, and I can't remember which one is the one you use.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse)
So I have a quiz today... I spent some time last time and again this morning studying for it. Feels like nothing's sank in, but I think I'll do all right. I won't fail, anyway.

Yesterday was a little busy - I finished Northanger Abbey, and got my program working and sent in to my teacher. I had a little bit of free time in between getting that done and work, too. Also, work was so slow... I brought my book with me, and finshed it while I was there.

I prefer those kind of evenings to the 'insanely busy' kind. Definitely.

The book I just finished was the last one in a trilogy I had loved when I was about twelve years old. I noticed that they were reprinted and available at the bookstore, and had to buy them - that was back when I still had the $100 Chapters gift card from my grandmother. Anyway, the books are 'Wren to the Rescue', 'Wren's Quest', and 'Wren's War'.

I really like these books, even though they're maybe a bit childish, because of the strength and development of the friendships. Back when I was reading them for the first time, I had suspicions that the arrangement of main characters - two male and two female - was a set up for romance. Actually, though, the only romance is the brief failed attempt between Connor and Teressa in 'Wren's War'. There are strong bonds of friendship between all of them, though, particularly Wren and Teressa and between the three original rescuers: Wren, Tyron, and Connor. They make for a fun read.

I'm glad to finally be able to own them.

I also - and you had to know this was coming - watched episode 50 of FMA yesterday.

Warnings for Churchill. And spoilers, I guess )

I'll be very interested to see how they finish this series up in just ONE more episode.
