So I'll be registering today... I have my courses picked out - I'm going to pick out a couple of extras for each semester just in case. But I think these ones will be it, at least for right now.

It'll be nice to have this all over with. Then I can enjoy the rest of my summer without worrying about school.

In other news... Actually, I don't have any other news. Other than the fact that I skimmed through some Hunter X Hunter fanfic to see what kind of stuff is out there and found a number of stories where one of the male characters was a female. Not that I'm not used to this, but usually there's at least two or three characters that this is split up amongst. It's just the one this time. I wonder why they keep picking on him.

Does the series pull a Fruits Basket and have him turn out to be a girl in disguise or something?

I wasn't tagged for this one - I just wanted to do it. Heh.

Work wasn't *that* bad yesterday. The other girl I was working with got sick, but other than that, things went okay. It's all good, I suppose.

I have an anime club meeting today. That'll be fun. I finally have Uninhabited Planet Survive with normal-sized subtitles that people will be able to read. This is a good thing.

Yesterday was kind of a lazy day, other than work. I read some more Hunter X Hunter manga, chatted online a bit, and basically didn't do a lot.

Three of my CDs arrived in the mail yesterday, though! Gundam Seed Complete Best, and the two .hack//Sign soundtracks. They are very nice.

And I'll end with an Anime Survey )

Work this morning... I'm at the Sa Hali store, so I can walk. Which is good, because it'll wake me up. I didn't sleep too well last night for whatever reason.

Note to self: if I don't want to end up buying an anime, I should never read the manga for it. Never. This always seems to trigger the 'buy' nerve located somewhere in the section of my brain that is entirely devoted to anime.

Yeah, so I decided to buy Hunter X Hunter on burned DVDs, which cost a grand total of $45 for 62 episodes and three OVAs of eight, eight, and fourteen episodes respectively. It looks like something I might be able to watch with Jeremy, though, so it'll be nice to have. Also, I like having DVDs full of episodes that I can just sit down and binge-watch whenever I get the opportunity.

Yeah, yeah, I'll admit, in a way I was hoping I'd like it enough to want to buy it. The first episode was kind of meh. The main character didn't interest me much, but when we started meeting other characters, it started getting interesting. I've watched five episodes, and read through two volumes of manga. It looks like it'll be entertaining.

Not at obsession level yet. No clues on whether or not I'll get there. We'll find out later, I'd imagine.

Grabbed from [livejournal.com profile] herongale. I'm sure I've done this one before... but I think it has different anime. Ah well.

Made three new icons yesterday... Hehe. It was fun. I think I might be addicted to icons or something. I always have to make more.

Ah well.

I also *did* work on Game Over yesterday, just like I was determined to do. I will work on it again today, too. Because I have said so. Granted, I only got about two pages done yesterday... but still! It's something.

I want to work on Piece of a Legend soon too. That one isn't getting posted until I have it all done, but it's only three chapters from being finished, while Game Over is going to be longer. I don't know how much longer just yet. I need to get a more precise idea of how I'm going to organize the final events. I'll do that when I finish chapter seven, because chapter seven has all the *fun* stuff.

But before that, I must finish chapter six. So there's a ways to go yet.

The highlight of yesterday was me getting a page and a half written in Game Over part six. Knowing how long I can usually focus on something when I've got two other, newer projects on the go, this is pretty amazing.

I'll try to do some more today. I've been neglecting the story too much. I think if I'm going to be a writer, I'll need to learn to discipline myself to actually finish things that I start. I still like Game Over; I do want to see it finished. I need to make myself work on it.

Less slacking, in other words.

We'll see how that goes.

It might get easier when I get to part seven. All kinds of interesting stuff will be going on in part seven. Mwaha. Part six, however, is a bit of a turning point, so I need to do it right. That means spending time on it.

So today I was going to start the new job, but as it turns out that was a mistake - today's Victoria Day, so they're not open. It got re-scheduled for Wednesday, since I work at McCleaner's tomorrow.

Still nervous. I really hope I do well.

But I guess I might as well not worry about that now, since I have a couple of days before I start.

Firstly, I updated Game Over (finally), and so part five is available on Fiction Press here and on my site here. Hope you guys like it, after waiting so long for it!

And, [livejournal.com profile] selurnis tagged me, so here's a meme.

I finished my AMV, and anyone who's interested can download it! The anime is Uninhabited Planet Survive, and the song is "What it Feels like For a Girl (dance remix)" by Madonna. The video is a tribute to the girls of UPS.

I used footage from all over the place in the anime, so watch out for that if you're leary of spoilers. Not that you'll know what's going on or anything, but... well, just in case.

For those who are members at AnimeMusicVideos.org, I have it available here, and for those who aren't, you can get it here.

Either way, if you do decide to watch it, opinions are appreciated. It's my first attempt, so I'm a little nervous - but I'd really like to hear what people think of it.

I did go and see Star Wars last night - I figured it was better than hanging around home and trying to keep busy and randomly feeling sad. Prince was a good dog. We had a lot of good times with him. He was very old, and obviously wasn't very comfortable - he's in a better place now.

My sister and her boyfriend are visiting, too... It helped that since she hasn't been home in a while, she was able to handle the news better than the rest of us.

Anyway, Star Wars wasn't great. It had its moments, and of course the effects were awesome, but yeah. The writing was bad, the acting was meh, and the pace was horribly rushed. THIS movie could've been three movies.

My impressions )

I may be exaggerating, but not by very much.

I think my AMV is finished. I need to watch it again and stuff... Might be a while, I don't know. I'll post here when it's ready to be shared.

And, to everyone who replied to my last post with sympathy, thank you. I really appreciate it.
silverthunder: (Luna - Looking to the future)
I don't really have anything much to work with to make it fancy or anything, but I decided a couple days ago to make an AMV. It's not going to be anything special. I've only spent about six or seven hours on it so far... Most of what I'm doing is trying to sync it with the music. (read: trying) Hopefully it'll be half-decent.

At any rate, it's keeping me busy, and I like that. It's nice to have time to work on random projects that consume hours without you noticing.

The AMV is for Uninhabited Planet Survive (ooh, surprise?) and inspired by [livejournal.com profile] sailormac and her post on the bashing of female characters. This one is a tribute to the girls of UPS. I'm using music that *I* like, so not everyone else will like it.

If I finish it (looks promising at this stage), I'll put up a link here to share with whoever's interested.

So Jer and I went to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy last night. It was amusing. Not the best thing I've seen, but not bad. I haven't read the books, so that probably makes a difference. I do know why towels are so important. That wasn't explained in the movie, which kind of sucks. The romance bored me. Actualy, the female character in general was annoying. She had no purpose, other than being rescued and falling for the main character.

But if you ignore that, the movie wasn't bad. It definitely had its moments.

There was a preview for Star Wars episode three. That was pretty cool.

Still fixing up Game Over. I promised it'd be up soon more than a week ago, didn't I? This should teach me not to make promises...

Hey V... remember when we came up with the badfic where Jesus became a vampire in the end?

Looks like it might actually get written.

In other words, Anne Rice is taking on the life story of Jesus Christ. And the saddest part of this is that I'm not joking. Fandom Wank appears to have it covered. Speculations on vampire Jesus are here.

Wow. That's all I can say. Just... wow.
silverthunder: (Menori - So not impressed)
So, yesterday Angeltowns decided that they needed to shut down all free accounts. This includes my UPS screenshot site, which I was a little annoyed about.

I've never been so glad that I decided to get the paid space for my homepage. It's still there, because obviously they're not randomly deleting paid accounts.

I'd used about 10MB of space for my homepage and am allowed 100MB. My images site was almost 50MB. I have the UPS site backed up on my harddrive, so all I needed to do was spend a good hour this morning uploading everything to my homepage space.

The images site is now here, for the curious: http://www.angeltowns2.net/aphrael/UPS

This also means everything on it can be direct linked, which is kind of cool. So I guess it's not too bad that this happened.

Still annoyed with the wasted time, though. Bah.

Help?

This post has two purposes. One, to show of one of my two new icons. And two, because I would like to ask for help from anyone on my friends list who is experienced with making layouts for LJ.

I want to make a really cool layout for my LiveJournal... Because, well, I figure as long as I'm going to be paying for it, I might as well make it look as nifty as I can.

So, does anyone know how to do this? Just the basics, even? I'd really appreciate the help if anyone can offer it. Please?
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse - Sleep sounds good)
I work this morning - fun times. I also had an anime club meeting yesterday, which was fun. I bought four new volumes of manga, ordered another one, and then also ordered the second FMA DVD.

I spend way too much money on anime. Ah well.

The manga I bought were volumes five and six of Tokyo Babylon, volume one of Descendants of Darkness, and volume five of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. Since I don't yet have volume four of Tokyo Babylon, that was the one I ordered. I've read them all by now, because I always have to read new manga as soon as I get them. Besides, I was anxious to see what happened in Tsubasa. And the next volume looks very interesting, from the little preview at the end.

Tsubasa Chronicle episode three is downloading now... Also, I have downloaded Howl's Moving Castle, but have yet to watch it. I might do that tonight while putting off the studying I really should start on today.

We'll see.
