silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
This icon takes on new meaning for today... I have to finish my paper this morning, and I've devoted from now until I have to leave for class (and possibly between the class and belly dancing) to that very end.

Must. Get. Passing. Grade.

Actually, a passing grade isn't really what I'm after - I want a reasonably *decent* grade. I can probably get a passing grade just by spending half an hour bullshitting an argument. I want to make it something good, and do well.

Doesn't everyone, though?

Last night I worked for the first time in a week. Fun times. I hate that place with a passion. At least it wasn't insanely busy, though.

I get a VERY long weekend for Thanksgiving, as it turns out. I don't have any classes on Tuesday anyway, and Monday is a holiday. So I don't start until Wednesday, and as it turns out, one of my Wednesday classes was cancelled too.

It evened out when my teacher informed us that we would have a midterm on that Wednesday, at nine o'clock in the morning.

Whee.

Ah well. School isn't unbearable yet. Keeping up with the workload and everything. It's all good.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Well, today's going to be one of those busy days. School, school, and work. And then tomorrow I've got a paper to finish up. It's all outlined, and I think my argument is pretty decent, so I'm okay for that. It'll still take an hour or two to write, but that's okay.

It's all good.

My program still doesn't work, but I'm going to ask my prof about that in class. It seems to be just one little problem, and I think I can fix it if I just put my mind to it.

Of course, that's due tomorrow by one... but I'll manage.

I'm very sad now that FMA is over. I'm comforting myself with the fact that the movie is coming out next summer, and the manga is still ongoing. New chapter every month!

But still. It's very sad.

Yesterday didn't really treat me that well as far as being able to watch episode 51. I intended to watch it during my break between classes, but then I realized I still had reading to do before the class after that break, so... I sacrificed. Then I had intended to watch it after my afternoon class, but when I got home my sister was watching TV.

I refuse to watch on the computer with the TV on behind me. Not the last episode of FMA. No way.

Anyway, though, the TV was on from that point until I gave up and went to bed. But I did manage to get some of my homework for this week done. I have most of my program finished and my paper nice and outlined.

Excellent.

But, since I was thwarted yesterday, I made it a point to watch the episode first thing this morning. So now I have seen it.

Spoilers under here )
silverthunder: (Edward - Hee)
We had an early Thanksgiving dinner last night, since my parents will be away next week. (For my US Friends, next week is Canada's Thanksgiving) Next week, I'll probably be eating with Jeremy's family.

Two turkey dinners... not bad.

Last night was a lot of fun. My other two sisters came in from Kelowna, and we had the usual fun conversations where everyone is trying to talk over everyone else. Jeremy said he had a good time, and he seemed to get along with everyone, so it's all good.

Yay!

Somebody subtitled episode 51. I was going to wait to see if I could get my usual group's version, but of course I ended up caving. I haven't watched it yet; I was tired last night by the time it finished downloading. I debated watching it this morning, but I'll probably wait until after my morning classes.

I know... I'm sort of putting it off now, too. I *really* want to watch it, but at the same time, once I've finished, the series is truly over.

Also, though, once I've finished watching, I can discuss it with other people who have finished watching. Heh.

In any case, I want to see what happens!
silverthunder: (Koushiro)
Wow, yesterday was awesome!

Jo and I drove over in the morning - it was a long trip but we managed to have enough music and conversation to keep things interesting. I drove the whole way and we made it to the ferry with minimal confusion.

Not bad, really.

It was great to see V again! I missed her so much... I'm sure Jo felt the same. V also got to be the navigator as I braved the streets of Vancouver. No accidents whatsoever, and we only got lost once - for a very short time - on the way back to the ferry.

Riverdance was pretty good. Lots of nice colors and awesome dancing. The second half of the performance was the best, in my opinion. And then there was LP... V, you know who I'm talking about. Hehe. Lots of good times.

We didn't spend as much time in Metrotown as we could've - and that was really my fault, since I dragged everyone over to the Crystal Mall so I could visit Sakura Media. Funny thing was, I spent more time in the toy store across from it, where they had lots of Fullmetal Alchemist stuff. I wanted to buy it all... Unfortunately, I couldn't, but I did get a lot. A Roy action figure, a smaller Hughes figure, a pack of trading cards, some other collector cards, and a Photo Collection package. Action figures also came with a chibi keychain each. Roy was the cutest, so I picked him, and then Edward the second time, since he's my favorite. I wanted Al, too... but action figures were pretty expensive.

Maybe when I'm there for Les Miserables... Hopefully they'll still have them.

Also, I somehow wound up with two Winry action figures - one in regular colors and one in a sort of metallic color. If anyone wants those, you can have them both for $10. Let me know before I either try to sell them on ebay or just toss them.

Yeah, but it was a fun day. I was very happy. It was sad to see V back onto the ferry... time seemed to go way too fast.

But, we'll see her at Christmas. I'm already looking forward to it!

Jo and I had a lot of fun figuring out how to follow my dad's instructions in reverse to try and get back home - it actually went pretty well. We didn't get lost at all. But the last stretch of the drive seemed to take forever - we were both so tired.

Worth it. Definitely.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Wow... I wasn't sure I'd have time to update this journal before I left this morning. It is currently 5:30am here... I'm going to be leaving in fifteen minutes to pick up Jo.

Then it's off to Vancouver!

I'm very excited. Very sleepy right now, but I went to bed early so it's not bad. Mom got up to see me off and warn me to drive carefully. Heh.

Also, today is the day that the last episode of Fullmetal Alchemist airs. For those of you who will see it in raw Japanese, please use cut tags for ANY reactions. Please. I want to see it without any of that.

I love this series too much to have the last episode spoiled before I see it. I'm still annoyed with myself for reading the spoilers for episode 50.

Ah well... Off to Vancouver now! Hooray!
silverthunder: (Edward - Hee)
Tomorrow I'm going to Vancouver! Jo and I will be heading out at six in the morning (ugh) and we'll be meeting V at the ferry at 10:30. Excellent!

I'm so excited... I can't wait to see V again. It's going to be an awesome day, I can tell already.

I'm sorta vaguely interested in Riverdance, which is what we're going to see, but that's not really what the trip is *about*. It's just an excuse.

I talked to V on the phone last night - it just made me more impatient. I still have to get through today somehow...

Only two classes, though - I can make it.

I'm so glad I put this song on my tape. Actually, I'm glad that I finally made a new tape at all. There were songs on the old one that were annoying me. Now I have a new one with better music.

Just in time to drive to Vancouver with it.

Whee, I'm happy!
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
Pretty much nothing happened yesterday... Except for school, and the usual. I have an essay due a week from tomorrow that I probably should work on, and a short assignment due next Wednesday, and no doubt I'll have another assignment given to me today in lab.

I should be working on some of this. But I'm not.

Oh well...

Vancouver on Saturday. I'm very excited! It's going to be a lot of fun, and I'll get to hang out with V! That is pretty much the whole reason I'm going - the excuse is Riverdance. Heh.

In any case, I'm looking forward to it. Two more days!

Also... V, I'm a little worried that I haven't heard from Jo at all. We're supposed to be leaving on Saturday morning, and I haven't been able to get hold of her to talk about plans.

It's making me very concerned.

Also, I still need to know which ferry... There are two, and I can't remember which one is the one you use.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse)
So I have a quiz today... I spent some time last time and again this morning studying for it. Feels like nothing's sank in, but I think I'll do all right. I won't fail, anyway.

Yesterday was a little busy - I finished Northanger Abbey, and got my program working and sent in to my teacher. I had a little bit of free time in between getting that done and work, too. Also, work was so slow... I brought my book with me, and finshed it while I was there.

I prefer those kind of evenings to the 'insanely busy' kind. Definitely.

The book I just finished was the last one in a trilogy I had loved when I was about twelve years old. I noticed that they were reprinted and available at the bookstore, and had to buy them - that was back when I still had the $100 Chapters gift card from my grandmother. Anyway, the books are 'Wren to the Rescue', 'Wren's Quest', and 'Wren's War'.

I really like these books, even though they're maybe a bit childish, because of the strength and development of the friendships. Back when I was reading them for the first time, I had suspicions that the arrangement of main characters - two male and two female - was a set up for romance. Actually, though, the only romance is the brief failed attempt between Connor and Teressa in 'Wren's War'. There are strong bonds of friendship between all of them, though, particularly Wren and Teressa and between the three original rescuers: Wren, Tyron, and Connor. They make for a fun read.

I'm glad to finally be able to own them.

I also - and you had to know this was coming - watched episode 50 of FMA yesterday.

Warnings for Churchill. And spoilers, I guess )

I'll be very interested to see how they finish this series up in just ONE more episode.
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
Well, like I thought it would be, yesterday was a full day. It always is when I have to work on a Monday or a Wednesday.

But it wasn't too bad - work was pretty slow, which is always good. I had easily enough time to finish everything. I also managed to get my journal entry for Lit finished this morning, and I'm getting closer to finishing Northanger Abbey. Hopefully I can get that done for tomorrow.

I also have to see my Networks prof this morning, and then stop by the post office. If I have time, I might watch episode 50 of FMA. But I'll have to study tonight after work, because I have a quiz first thing tomorrow morning.

As of right now, it's not too bad being busy... That'll change very soon, I think. Then I'll be yanking my hair out.

I can't wait until Saturday...
silverthunder: (Roy)
Downloading the subtitled episode 50 of Fullmetal Alchemist right now. I'm not so sure I want to watch it right away... I know it'll just drive me crazy all over again, and I've finally managed to achieve some sense of 'whatever happens, happens'.

Then again, the sooner I watch it, the sooner I'll be over it... I intend to avoid lists and such completely to avoid ANY spoilers before I watch episode 51. Even 'OMG, I'm so sad', or 'Wow... that was great!' or anything like that. I don't want to know if it sucked or was amazing or was sad AT ALL until I watch it myself.

Yeah. So, anyway...

I've just about finished my program, which isn't due until Thursday - I'm so proud. I ran into a slight problem, so it's a good thing I started it now. Heh.

I'm halfway through Northanger Abbey, which is probably good enough for now.

I also did some work on Game Over, and a little bit on the HikaGo ghost story. Coming right along - both of them, actually. I'm hoping to finish that ghost story so I can concentrate more on Game Over.

We'll see, I guess.

And today's going to be a long day... School, school, and work. Bleh.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I knew when I made it that I'd get a lot of use out of this icon. Heh.

Yesterday pretty much centered around the spoilers I read for episode 50. I haven't actually read the little summary that's floating about, but I found out one thing about the episode that aggitated me.

Gah! I don't know how I'm supposed to wait for 51! And how do they plan to resolve everything, anyway?

Yeesh. Won't be sleeping much, I don't think.

Today, what I want to do is work on Game Over a bit, get more of Northanger Abbey read, and write out that little C program - just to get it over with. Sarah will be coming over later, but I'm hoping to get most if not all of that done.

We'll see, I guess.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse)
For those interested, the fifth episode of Digimon is up at WolfPackProductions. I'll be watching it very soon. Koushiro!

Heh. Yeah. Anyway...

Had an anime club meeting yesterday. We watched D.N.Angel, Sailor Stars, Saiyuki, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Cowboy Bebop. It was pretty decent overall.

Er... other than that, not much is going on. I only had one class since my Philosophy class was cancelled on Friday... That wasn't too bad. Just the 9-10 class and then I could come home.

I'm reading Northanger Abbey right now, by Jane Austen. We're supposed to have it finished by next week - which may or may not happen. I still have a hundred pages to go.

It's not bad, though.

Episode 50 of FMA is out today, which means it'll be subtitled by about Tuesday or so. I'm waiting anxiously.

And I work tonight. Bleh. But at least I don't work tomorrow morning.
silverthunder: (Edward - Repeat?)
We have an assignment in Networking, as of yesterday. It's due next week. Just a short program written in C and executed on the CS machine at the school via Secure Shell.

We're learning C! Something *useful*.

Thank god.

Anyway, other than that, I got a phone call from V... It reminded me of how much I miss her. How many days until next Saturday? It's going to be an awesome day - I can't wait!

And then Christmas... Christmas will be fun.

Also, I finally watched episode 49 of FMA.

Spoilers. And confusion )
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I can see I'm going to get a lot of use out this icon. Heh.

I love having icon space.

Um... yesterday was boring. That's about all there is to it. School, lunch, more school, and then home. I did a bit of writing for Game Over, and that's about it for productivity. I've got two essays due in early October that I probably could've started working on, but of course I'll probably put them off to the last minute. As usual.

I still have episode 49 to watch... But then after that, I'll have no more FMA until 50 is released subtitled. I know, it's less than a week, but still! It'll seem like forever.

Ah well. Today I will watch it. I want to be able to read all the theories and speculations and thoughts.
silverthunder: (Roy)
All homework is done. There is still a little bit of reading left, but I can do that during my break between classes today.

My journal writing is going to be me pretending to be an 18th or 19th century upper/middle class woman with my current age and marital status. Which would probably put me well on my way to being a spinster, considering I'm 22 and NOT married.

Heh.

Believe it or not, I actually did some work on the Hikaru no Go ghost story yesterday. It bothers me that I haven't finished that one, because I really like it. The beginning might need work, but overall, I think it's a good story and I like how it's gone so far. I'm so close to finishing it... I thought maybe I'd make an attempt.

It'd be great if I could. I'd like to share it.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphone - Sleepy)
I'm sleepy or tired so often now that I made an icon for it. Heh. Well, I had the perfect picture... Isn't it nice?

I had a long, busy day yesterday. School, school, more school, and then work. I also have a short essay due tomorrow - although it shouldn't take me too long to do - and a nice chunk of reading to do. But since I have today off, I'll have the time.

Maybe I'll even have extra time to get my hair cut afterward. Or work on Game Over. Part four is about halfway done, for those who are curious. I think it'll be good - so far, I like how things are going.

Hopefully you'll get to know the other characters a little better. I know everyone who's reading knows Shane pretty well by now, and most likely Zinc as well. There's still a lot with just them, but I'm squeezing in a bit more of the others now too.

Hooray!

Also... I am getting episode 49 of Fullmetal Alchemist as we speak. Mwaha. And I watched episode 48 this morning. )
silverthunder: (Edward - Repeat?)
Stupid work last night... Tired now. Bleh. And I have school and work today.

At least I have tomorrow off, though.

Actually, my work schedule is drastically reduced. Because I asked for "five or less" shifts, and Suzette asked for more. So I have three shifts over the next two weeks.

I'm not going to complain, except about the lack of money.

I can live with that, though. For now.

I found the second volume of Tsubasa at Chapters. Yay! I have read it and enjoyed it. I really think Del Rey is doing a good job with the translation and everything.

I still have to watch episode 48 of Fullmetal Alchemist. That probably won't happen until tomorrow, but that's okay. Means I won't have to wait as long for the subtitled version of 49.

I've also got Digimon Frontier episode 47 and Kyou Kara Maou episodes 16-17 that I can watch. I don't know when I'll find time for those... Yeeks.
