So... yesterday I made the decision not to stick to my FMA viewing schedule.

The original schedule was to watch episode 46 this week, episode 47 next week, and episode 48 the week after. Then I'd have 49, 50, and 51 to burn onto a VCD and I could watch them as well.

I changed my mind and decided to watch what I have now and the others as they come out - on the computer instead of on my TV.

The decision was based on the number of spoiler posts that appear on the fm_alchemist community. I *want* to read them, because I want to know what people are saying about the episodes. But I don't want spoilers. And by the time I watch an episode, the discussion about it is already buried under new posts about new episodes.

I want to read the discussion. So I will watch up to where everyone else is. Then it's all good.

Anyway... that means I watched 47 this morning.

Urgh... did a bunch of stuff yesterday, including some of my homework and reading. Also including writing in Game Over, thank god. I'd say the chapter's about half finished. Finally.

Also, Sarah was over last night and we watched some anime. I remembered to tape Gundam Seed at nine-thirty - so we ended up watching that, too. Neither of us could keep most names and places straight, and we have no idea what's going on.

Oh well... If I care enough, I'll figure it out.

I also watched episode 46 of Fullmetal Alchemist this morning after I woke up.

And, well... )
silverthunder: (Default)
Yesterday was... interesting. I got some of my Woolf crap done, had a lab where I found out I can do all of my homework at *home* for once, and then the first day of belly dancing.

That was fun.

I didn't get to episode 46 of Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm also taping the series for yet another person, so my TV and DVD player were in use anyway.

I still have a lot of reading to do for next week that I should get on top of...

Margh. I don't care much. Sarah called on Wednesday and said that she had broken up with the boyfriend she's been seeing for the past two and a half years and living with for the past year or so.

That kinda sucks, but she said it was for the best, so I'll believe her. She is coming over tonight, and we'll be distracted by Slayers Try and Fullmetal Alchemist, so it's all good.

Two classes today. Shouldn't be too hard to get through.
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
So I got episodes 46, 47, and 48 onto a VCD... I'll probably watch episode 46 either today or tomorrow. Excellent.

I also have lots of reading to do... gotta make sure I get that done, too. And a journal entry that has to identify five of Woolf's claims and expand on them. I'll do that today as well.

I've gotten a nice little chunk of more work on Game Over... a couple of pages worth, anyway - and it feels like I might just be back on track. Now... it's too bad I'm getting so busy. Heh.

Belly dancing also starts tonight - that'll be fun. I'm looking forward to it.

I just wish I could skip the homework and my lab today. Bleh.
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse)
I love this music. I don't know why I don't listen to it more often. I adore whenever it plays during the anime - so sad and slow. Gorgeous.

Ah, in any case, I'm finished with Virginia Woolf. At least, as far as reading goes. I still have a couple pages of bell hooks to read, but that shouldn't take long and I'll have time to take care of that before class today.

Excellent. I feel prepared.

Worked last night. It was annoying. At the very last minute, someone came in with a big dirty bag of coveralls to be cleaned and slapped them down on the floor I'd just cleaned. They had also tracked mud all over it with their boots, too. I was not happy.

And then my till was short almost thirty dollars. It took me a while to figure out that I'd entered the wrong result from the morning. I was late getting home.

Ah well...

Now that episode 48 of FMA is released, I can make another VCD. Tomorrow, I'll be watching 46.

I am looking forward to it.
silverthunder: (Edward - Repeat?)
For class tomorrow, I have to read Virginia Woolf's "A Room of One's Own". I've got about twenty pages of it left. It's not that it's boring - it's actually interesting, when you get into it - but it's hard to get into, and once you're distracted, you pretty much have to start all over again.

But twenty pages... I should be able to manage that.

I also started my journal for that course. I'm going to update it Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I figured now was the time to start. I also decorated the cover with pictures of anime women. I have Izumi, Winry, and Hawkeye on there from Fullmetal Alchemist, and - basically only because I had a picture of her reading a book - Cleao from Sorcerous Stabber Orphen.

It looks kind of cool.

Today I have no class, but I do have to work tonight. Stupid work... I'm sure it'll suck. It always does.

Oh well.
silverthunder: (Roy)
Yesterday was another one of those get-nothing-done days. However, I had reasons this time. First I had work all morning, and then I had to go buy blank CDs and a CD holder for my VCDs. And then Sarah came over, and we watched a bunch of anime.

Then I went to bed, since I have a 9:00am class this morning.

But yeah, we watched some Slayers Try and Fullmetal Alchemist again last night. We're up to episode 19 of FMA, and 10 of Slayers - ah, we started that one after we'd already got through some FMA.

Sarah admits that she's starting to agree with me that FMA is the best anime we've seen so far. It is certainly *my* favorite.

Anyway, last night was fun. Back to school today.
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
So I watched episode four of Digimon yesterday, which - wonder of wonders - actually makes sense when you see it subtitled. Beats the hell out of me why they changed so many things in the dub... All it did was make it confusing.

After watching that episode, though, it reinforces my belief that Piyomon is the most annoying digimon on the show. In any season. There were several times when I watched to throttle her. Ugh.

Ah well...

I didn't accomplish much yesterday, besides some of my reading and work. Which sucked. The book for my Women's Literature course is very boring, even though some of the things it talks about are kind of neat. The way it's written, though... I want to fall asleep while reading.

At least the philosophy text is readable.

And now I'm off to work this morning. Evil work...
silverthunder: (Roy)
So before I forget, Digimon episode four is available for download at Wolf Pack Productions. I'm downloading it as we speak.

I'm hoping it makes more sense in japanese than it did in the dub. Because the dub for this episode really confused me.

We'll see, I guess.

The barbeque was yesterday, and the burgers were good. I read my philosophy text while eating, which wasn't too bad since it was kind of interesting. I also did some writing in class. Which is definitely good.

Writing is getting done! Slowly but surely.

I watched Gundam Seed and Witch Hunter Robin last night. In both cases I thought the dubs were pretty weak. Gundam Seed looks kind of interesting and I'll probably keep taping it. Witch Hunter Robin didn't seem that great. I might watch it every week, but no wasting tape space on it.

And I work tonight... blech. No fun.
silverthunder: (Default)
Yesterday was a lovely day of doing absolutely nothing. I was going to get a head start on my readings, but that didn't happen. I'm not really surprised. I'll probably end up doing them all at the last possible minute, as usual.

Ah well.

I did manage to get some writing done, although not much. Stupid blocks... I feel like I'm getting back on track, thank goodness. The fact that Jer read the edited chapter three and didn't find anything unusual about it - and I know he'd tell me if he did; he has before - made me feel much better.

I think I'll leave it. If and when I finish the entire story, I might come back and play with it some more, but for now, it'll be all right. I've spent enough time worrying and agonizing; it is time to let go.

In any case, I need to give some attention to chapter four.

Today is the welcome back barbeque. I have my book with me so that I can get a couple of burgers and a drink and then go sit on the grass and read. It'll be nice enough, although not the same without V, of course.

And then class at noon.

And then Gundam Seed on TV tonight at 9:30. I'm looking forward to that. Also, the TV guide says Witch Hunter Robin is playing at 10:30. I may attempt to watch that, too.

So much anime! Excellent...
silverthunder: (Edward and Alphonse)
School was pretty okay, I guess... At least as far as school goes. I managed to buy my books, after waiting in line for 45 minutes. I never learn my lesson - even when I *know* the line will be long.

Ah well... 45 minutes isn't as bad as it *could've* been, and I had music and a book to read.

I was also right about working on Game Over. For some reason, I write a lot when I'm waiting for class to start. So that'll be worked on regularly again. Yay!

... which reminds me, I have some original story reading to catch up on. I always seem to forget. Margh.

I will not forget that today.

I also watched episode 45 of Fullmetal Alchemist.

Spoilers. Why not? )
silverthunder: (Alphonse - I'll pass)
Ugh. School. I *wish* I could pass on school...

Oh well. Only one class for now, then I come home and return at noon. Then I'll have three straight hours of class, which sucks after getting used to one-hour classes. At least this time it's two different classes.

Fun times.

Seeing as how it was my last day off yesterday, I resolved to do absolutely nothing all day, and succeeded admirably. Somehow, it's just not that difficult.

Today should be interesting. I also work tonight, so it'll be a fairly full day.

Oh well... I'd better get used to it again. Darn it all...
silverthunder: (Edward - Only human)
I went and dropped that class.

I remember now why I took it, back when it was at three o'clock instead of four. My favorite prof was teaching it. I don't know if this is going to be a regular thing, since he didn't used to teach it. I was looking forward to having a class with him again.

I had to go tell him I was dropping it, so he could cross me off his class list. I now feel... very disappointed with myself, somehow.

I want that class back. I know I can't take it, unless I want to lose my job - which I can't afford. But I want it back anyway.

Stupid school...
silverthunder: (Edward - Hee)
Heh... so, yeah, I have a paid account now for six months. This means more icons. I've put up some of the ones I have at GreatestJournal and will probably attempt to use each of them at least once. And then probably make more, too. Yay!

A million times thank you to the person who gave me the paid time! I don't know who you are, but I love you!

Anyway.

Yesterday I had Sarah over and we watched a bunch of Slayers Try and Fullmetal Alchemist. Both awesome shows. I've decided that Zelgadis is my favorite character in Slayers. He is very cool.

We're gonna do the anime viewing thing again next Sunday, so it's all good. Sarah also ordered Slayers Next, so we'll have plenty to watch for quite a while.

Excellent.

I also watched episode 44 of FMA this morning.

I think I'll cut this so I don't have to worry about giving spoilers while I talk about it )

WOOT!

To whoever bought me the six months of paid LJ time: I LOVE YOU!!!

Icon space... I have icon space!

I'm very excited about this! What shall I do with it? Which icons shall I upload? I should make new icons... More! MORE ICONS!

As you can see, I am clearly going insane with this power. Mwahahahaha!

I don't suppose the giver of this lovely gift would like to step forward and reveal their identity? How about volunteers to show me how to make a pretty layout? So many things I'd like to do with this...

Hooray!
silverthunder: (Default)
I am going to spend today doing absolutely nothing at all. Just because I can.

School starts tomorrow, but I don't have a class. On my first day of classes, Wednesday, I also have to work. So I intend to relax today and go see about some things I need to take care of tomorrow.

Fun times.

We had an anime club meeting yesterday. I got there late, so I missed episodes of Chobits, Sailor Stars, and Cowboy Bebop. I caught Saiyuki: Reload and Get Backers, and squeezed in an episode of Fullmetal Alchemist. I also brought up the discussion point V and I had come up with about self-preservation.

It was interesting.

On a whim, I downloaded and watched a Pokemon movie last night. It was movie six, which means no Kasumi, since Advanced Generation doesn't have her. It was also subtitled, so this marks the first time I've ever watched Pokemon subtitled.

It's a lot less annoying than it is dubbed. I actually enjoyed it. Not a bad movie at all.

I also watched episode 43 of Fullmetal Alchemist this morning. Yay military! Um... is it just me or do alchemists play rough? Roy and Armstrong were laying it on a bit thick, weren't they? I guess they were sure enough about Ed and Al's ability to remain intact, but still. Excessive.

Very cool episode, though. I especially liked Roy's little mini speech at the end. Yay Roy!

I'm very curious as to what will happen when Ed and Al return home. VERY curious.
silverthunder: (Default)
Well, I woke up ten minutes before I was supposed to be at work today. Ugh. I had to rush out the door with minimal morning routine - including breakfast. I also didn't have time to pack a lunch, so I skipped both meals. And I had to go straight from work to the anime club meeting, which was worth it because we watched FMA episode three.

Speaking of which, I watched episode forty-two recently, and... can I say 'wow, cool'? Because that's what I was thinking at the end. Also, Scar is awesome. Yay for Scar!

I wonder what they're going to do now, besides sneak away before their buddies in the military can stop them.

I love this series so much.

Going out for dinner with Sarah in a short while. I'm starving, since I've eating a grand total of three crackers since last night. I can't wait to get some food.

Soon, soon...

On a completely random note, this song is still the greatest.
silverthunder: (Default)
I hate work... Ugh. Two more days of it, and then I get a day off. I work on the first day back to school, but that doesn't matter since I don't have any classes on that day. I would've had a lab, but I have to drop that class anyway, so... no class.

I still have to go drop the class and possibly check out the bookstore (which I know will be packed, but there's no harm in checking) to see if I can sell back the books I've been putting off carting back over there.

I could use the money, but... I'm lazy.

Oh well.

I intended to watch episode forty-two of FMA now that I've finished making tapes. But I kind of rolled out of bed without thinking about it. I'll do that in a short while.

Gives me something to look forward to.
silverthunder: (Default)
So I watched through episode 25 of FMA with Jeremy. I have to agree with him that this is the best series I have right now. Episode 22 is still my favorite - we'll see if that changes when I watch some new stuff.

I still have five episodes that I haven't watched, and of course the series isn't finished yet.

I did some writing yesterday, after a week off. Two pages. Which is practically nothing, but it's a start. I still want to work on that story, anyway. I expect I'll probably work on it on more of a regular basis once school starts, since I always get to class early and write until the prof gets there and starts the lecture.

And then I work tonight... I hate work. But it's okay, I guess. The new schedule should be up, and hopefully I'll only have five shifts. Or less.

Belly dancing doesn't start until two weeks from yesterday. But that's okay. I can wait.

The welcome-back barbeque at school is not going to be the same without V.
silverthunder: (Default)
So, I saw 'Hero' last night with V, Jen, and Nancy. It was actually a good movie - kind of overdone, but since it's a Chinese tragedy, that's to be expected. The colors were beautiful. So yeah, I enjoyed it very much. The imperialism was so thick you could swim in it, but that didn't take away from the movie, really.

Anyway...

Mom had a very nice birthday yesterday. My father and I made pizza from scratch and it turned out pretty good. He also got her a ring to replace the wedding ring that had broken a while back. It was expensive and very pretty.

I said goodbye to V last night. By now, she's on her way to Victoria. I'll see her again in a month, for a little while... It's sad, though. I got a little bit teary last night, but we didn't linger over the goodbye, so it was okay.

I'm really going to miss her. But I know she'll do well at school, and will be back at Christmas.

So... good luck, V! I expect daily updates in the journal to keep me informed. Don't forget!
