I feel much more awake after a nice long sleep. Hah. I wouldn't trade last night or the afternoon we spent looking for places V and Jo could get tattoos at for anything, but it *was* tiring. I sort of sleepwalked through work.

It wasn't too bad. Kind of busy, but not terrible.

It is my mother's birthday today. I got her the newest book by the author she likes - I hope she enjoys that. My sisters won't be here, so my dad and I are making her dinner tonight.

Then, since it's also V's last night here, she and I and Jen are going to see 'Hero'. Excellent.

Also, I didn't mention yesterday, but episode three of Digimon Adventure is out now! They're moving right along, aren't they? I'm still seeding it and will be until tonight, and it looks like they have a lot of other seeds too, so it's a good time to go pick it up on bit torrent.

I'll be watching it this morning while mom goes for her run. After I finish wrapping her present and making the card to go with it.

Excellentness.
silverthunder: (Default)
Well, last night was a lot of fun, even though I'm extremely tired and I still have to go out and get mom's present and then head down to the tattoo parler so we can buy V her going away tattoo.

I believe I'm the only one not getting one today. I just can't bring myself to allow someone to permanently color my skin with needles.

But it'll be fun to see the others get theirs.

So we just hung out and talked last night - and ate a lot of junk food and half-heartedly watched some TV. It's always nice to hang out with friends, especially when one is leaving.

Well, since my parents had to buy tickets to Riverdance in order to get the Les Miserables tickets... they're giving the Riverdance tickets to me, and that gives me and Jo an excuse to meet up with V on October 2nd to go see that.

I'm glad about that. I'll miss her.

But we'll see her again before too long, so it's okay.
silverthunder: (Default)
I did nothing yesterday. Nothing.

This is getting to be a habit...

I did watch episode 41 of FMA this morning. I'd watch episode 42 as well, but I'm running low on episodes, so it's a better idea to wait until tomorrow (if I still feel awake) or Wednesday.

I think an attack made up of both Sloth and Wrath is probably the most cruel way possible to try and put Ed out of action. Also the most effective.

Go figure.

Tonight I'll be at V's house. This is sort of our going-away thing for her. We're going to rent a bunch of movies and probably talk through them. Just like usual.

It'll be a lot of fun, and then I'll feel sad.

Argh.
silverthunder: (Default)
I am going to lounge around and do nothing today... Mm, does that sound like fun. I usually work Sundays, but not today! And yes, this makes me very happy.

Before I forget (like I did yesterday), for those who are interested, Wolf Pack Productions released episode two of Digimon Adventure on Friday. So you can go download that if you're a fan.

It's a little more interesting than episode one, in my opinion, but still the infancy of the series. Ah, memories.

We had the anime club meeting yesterday, and I got in episode two of FMA on the list. Other stuff we watched included Chobits, Sailor Moon, and Saiyuki: Reload.

I'll never be more than mildly interested in Sailor Moon and Chobits isn't that good, but Saiyuki: Reload seemed kind of cool. I like the little dragon that turns into a jeep.

Also, watched episode 40 of FMA this morning. So that's it for my DVDs, but I have 41-45 burned onto VCD, so I can watch those next. In any case, 40 was good. A little more manga material caught up with us, it seems.

I like Scar. I really do. He's got that kind of "we can't do this to THOSE people, but it's okay if it's THESE people" attitude - and as annoying as that is when you're part of a more objective audience, it's so human.

I wonder if Martel had time to say anything to Al. Doubt it, but it would be nice.

There is a cat in our backyard, and it doesn't belong to us. It has a very loud meow, and keeps trying to come inside when we open the door. Last time I checked, it was also trying to eat Prince's food.

I went out and patted it for a bit, and Sage hates me now.

She will get over it, though. Poor kitty. Out in the rain.

I also watched episodes 38 and 39 of FMA... 38 drove me crazy. I kept wanting to yell at the TV, because the characters don't know the things that the audience knows. Darn it all... very frustrating. 39 made me want to claw at the walls. Goddamn Archer. I keep wondering if Ed's got some plan or if he's just being a complete moron because he doesn't trust people who are actually more or less trustworthy.

I would bet heavily on the latter, but won't give up on the former yet.

Anime club meeting today. Our pres was at a convention and picked up Saiyuki: Reload. So we're probably going to watch some of that. Should be interesting, since I have only a basic idea what the plot of Saiyuki is... I've read the first volume of manga, and that's about it.

I also won an Inu Yasha plushie. I'm not sure I want it. I really just did the crossword contest for fun... I didn't actually think I'd *win*.

Maybe I'll give it to the 13-year-old who is actually a fan of the show.
silverthunder: (Default)
I've been getting so frustrated over my writing lately that I've decided to take a little bit of a break from it - a couple days, maybe (we'll see how long I can stand) and then attack it again with a fresh brain. I re-edited the illusion in chapter three, and now I'm resting.

And watching FMA, of course.

Watched episode 37 this morning... A day with the military? When can that *not* be fun? Er - I mean, when it's Roy and his people, not the *rest* of the military. Anyway, the episode amused me. There were even little tidbits of plot thrown in! Now how can you complain about an episode like that?

Fun times.

I'm not looking forward to school at all... I won't have time to lounge around and watch episodes! It's going to break my spirit - I know it.

Ah well...
silverthunder: (Default)
Hah! And hah again! I found the song file thing for download. So there. I wasn't really enthusiastic about buying it, truthfully. But now I have it anyway, so it's all good.

Haha.

I have a request to make of anyone who is good with constructive criticism. I just posted chapter three of Game Over, but the illusion scene that takes up the second half of the chapter has so many problems it's not even funny. I know it needs to be fixed, but I'm having trouble thinking of *how*. If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate it very much.

I want the story to be good, that's all...

Anyway, that aside, I got to watch a lot of FMA episodes I've already seen with the guy from the anime club who wanted to see them. I think I've decided that the 5th Laboratory arc is my favorite - just going by what I've seen so far.

I watched episode 36 today. As glad as I am that Winry is no longer traveling with Ed and Al, I feel sorry for her at the moment. That's just not the kind of thing you want to hear.

Meh. Back to work. Editing. Yargh...
silverthunder: (Default)
Game Over chapter three is finished and posted here, for those who are following the story. I've barely started chapter four, so it might be a while for that one too. But I'll get there! No worries.

Other than that, not much happened yesterday. I hung out with Jo and V last night - and Jen was with us for a little while. It was nice to have just the four of us there... It's been a while for that. We used to do it a lot, but I guess things change.

And now V's leaving... I'm going to cry. I know I will.

But not yet.

So I'm meeting a friend from the anime club who wanted to see more FMA today. We're going to watch at the comic store. I love watching anime I like with other people, so it'll probably be fun.

Checked out one of the video rental places last night. They have the first two volumes of Witch Hunter Robin, which I would like to see. I'll have to rent that when I'm finished with either Noir or RahXephon.

Excellent.
silverthunder: (Default)
Hung out with V last night... That was fun. I'm going to miss her when she leaves. I actually have no idea what I'm going to do with myself.

Not until next week, though. I'll save the sentimentality until then.

I watched episode 35 of FMA this morning. The disease was very disturbing. As if I didn't already know this, but Envy and Lust are pretty damn nasty.

The preview for the next episode showed Winry driving some kind of vehicle. I'm not so sure I really want to watch and find out. That has the potential to be very, very bad.

But I will watch it, of course.

I've read over chapter three of Game Over a few times and got Tsaiko to read it for me, and I feel much better about it than I did after I'd just written it. The fact that I've been editing and making little touch-ups might help. I'll make a separate post if I feel satisfied enough to post it today.

I have another FMA question... Does anyone know where I can find translated lyrics for the song 'Bratja'? I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me. Please?
silverthunder: (Default)
So last night I finished chapter three of Game Over... phew! It's still very, very rough, so it's not being posted today, but hopefully it'll only take me a day or two to read over it, force other people to read over it, and edit it until I'm satisfied (more or less).

So hopefully tomorrow or the next day, I'll be posting it and providing the link here. Excellent.

I also watched episode 34 of FMA.

Just in case - spoilers, I guess )

Got to hear Edward scream in utter mental anguish again. Reminds me of how much I love Paku Romi. Who else could pull off that? I don't know why, but it's so... satisfying. Makes the angst all the more apparent. Addicting, that.

I love this series.

By the way, anyone know where I can find the character song files for FMA that everyone else seems to have but me? Preferably for download, but if you could tell me where to buy them, I think I've still got a bit of money left on my credit card anyway.

Also, is there a second soundtrack? If so, I want that too. I love the music for this show.

Obsessed? Me? Naaaaaw.
silverthunder: (Default)
I think I went to bed way too late last night. Gotta work this morning, so I can't sleep in. Damn it...

Oh well. I'm a moron. Nothing new there.

I managed to accomplish nothing yesterday. All I did was kick around and read and watch anime I've already seen until I had to go to work. It was a fun, fun day.

I mean that seriously, too. I love doing nothing.

I did write down my opinions for various pairings on FMA... but I don't think I'll be sharing. It was basically just to get my thoughts in writing so they'd stop bothering me. I'm not going to invite argument or agreement here.

Maybe it's just because I'm lazy.

Oh well.
silverthunder: (Default)
I don't have to work Monday any more! I guess I shouldn't be happy about the lost hours, but I have enough money without them, and Haleigh didn't have a shift on the schedule at all. So I let her have Monday.

Excellent.

Now I just have today and tomorrow to get through, and then I have four days off.

Happiness!

I've just about got thirty episodes of FMA on tape... Getting close to where I left off with watching. I figure I'll watch as they tape - it makes sense, really.

I'm looking forward to more, though...

In other news, it looks like there's a problem with our computer - it seems to be quite slow at times for no good reason. We'll be taking it in on Monday, so I'll be without internet for a little while.

Annoying... oh well, though.
silverthunder: (Default)
I haven't watched any new episodes of FMA yet since I am taping them because my DVDs tend not to work a lot of the time. For whatever reason, they work best in the morning so that's when I either watch new episodes or tape a few.

Right now, I'm taping. When my taping's all caught up, then I'll watch the ones I have yet to see.

It's a plan.

I work tonight. I despise work. I also have to work for the rest of the weekend and Monday. Evilness. It'll probably be disgustingly hot all weekend, too.

I'm tired and cranky right now. Our computer is being slow and refuses to open any link that needs to display in a new window. I think we might have a virus or something.

Ugh.
silverthunder: (Default)
Meh... I didn't sleep enough last night, but that's because I decided to stay up late and there's always activity in this house in the morning.

Oh well. Taping more episodes of FMA.

Speaking of FMA, I have a new default icon, which might have been kind of obvious but I feel the need to point it out anyway. I've retired Daisuke, and Edward has taken his place.

I rather like this icon, though. It used to be my default at GreatestJournal - I've changed the default over there, too. All of my defaults are FMA, though.

In other news, this song is starting to annoy me. The ending sequence that goes with it has forever associated it with Winry, and that's just no fun at all.

Damnit...

I've also read through my three volumes of Tamers manga, which was decent. Like the first two seasons, this was basically just a condensed version of the same story in the TV show. Juri wasn't even introduced at all until near the end of the second volume.

And how teaching her to slash a card became a *girl thing*, I have no idea. Takato and Jenrya are insane.

Oh well.
silverthunder: (Default)
Man, I almost forgot how goofy the first episode of Digimon is... That brings back memories. It was nice to see it again, without all the dub one-liners and such.

Fun stuff. I'm looking forward to more episodes now.

Surprisingly, volume one of Tamers didn't arrive yesterday, so I'm still waiting on that - but it's okay, since I had other things to do with my morning. And of course work in the evening, which wasn't too bad.

Two days off now!

I also got in episode 33 of FMA, which was good. Mwaha. Greed. I want to see the fight between Greed and Ed animated... They sort of started on it, but didn't finish it. Hopefully next episode. It'll be different from in the manga, but I'm sure it'll be awesome.

I'm just glad Wrath is gone for now. Annoying little thing...

Ah well. I really like Izumi, too. This is the second time I've seen the instructor reading a book while successfully fending off his or her trainees' attacks. (the first was in Naruto) She is awesome, though. I find myself hoping she'll be in the anime more, even though I get the feeling she won't.

Too bad... I don't have many anime females I like.

Oh well.
silverthunder: (Default)
Okay, so fans of Digimon should check out Wolf Pack Productions if they want to download the first episode of Digimon Adventure, which was released today.

I am happy. Muchly. Mine's downloading right now, and I can't wait to actually watch it.

So, probably soon I'll have Digimon Tamers manga to read and Digimon Adventure anime to watch. Lovely. It's going to be a very nice day.

Until I get to work. Bleh.

Oh well... Work is only five hours of torture. And then I'll be back home for a nice two-day break.

And then four days of work.

But that's a ways off yet, so I won't worry about it.

It also is starting to look like the third chapter of Game Over might be a couple of pages shorter than the other two if I want to end it where I had planned to. I don't intend to change my plans, but sometimes it takes more space than I would have thought it might to write something.

So we'll see what happens.
silverthunder: (Default)
It is quite warm out. Yesterday was actually pretty decent as far as temperature went - which is good, because I was at work - but today is hot.

Ah well... it's summer.

I managed to break one of the ceiling grates at work while attempting to dust it. The thing snapped in half and fell on me. I escaped with just a small scrape, but unfortunately I was standing beside the fan. It survived and worked okay, but the front plating broke off and I didn't know how to put it back on.

Yeeks.

In other news, my Digimon Tamers manga is here! I ordered it on either Wednesday or Thursday last week with the gift card my grandmother gave me for Chapters - that's pretty quick shipping. Actually, for some reason, they shipped volumes two and three before they shipped volume one. So I have two and three so far.

Still excellent, though. I'll read them all when volume one gets here.

I've watched up to episode thirty-two of FMA. Greed! Back into manga territory, I see... I dislike Wrath - who as far as I know wasn't in the manga, at least not in the same form - but Greed is kinda neat.

I also discovered a little while ago that Envy has the same seiyuu who does Jenrya from Tamers. No wonder it sounded slightly familiar at times...
silverthunder: (Default)
Well, yesterday was more or less boring. I've watched up to episode 30 of FMA now... I was totally not expecting the stuff with that kid - Wrath, right? Annoying little thing...

Ah well.

Got a few pages done in Game Over... Man, is that coming slowly. Bleh. This illusion is giving me some trouble. But I'll get through it - I'm at least halfway there now. It looks like chapter three might be a couple of pages shorter than the other two.

Eh, no big deal.

I work today, which sucks. It's Sunday, so I won't be as swamped as I would on a weekday. And I have Monday off, so it's all okay.
silverthunder: (Default)
I watched another couple of FMA episodes... So now I'm watching the stuff with the third opening theme - which I like very much. Not as much as the fourth, but more so than the first and second.

Interesting how that works.

The new ending theme is NOT good, though. Bleh. Who wants to watch two minutes of footage of WINRY? I don't CARE about Winry! This isn't the first time I've seen a pointless ending theme that just focusses on a female character (Gundam Wing and Sorcerous Stabber Orphen spring immediately to mind) but for crying out loud, Winry's not even a very big part of the story! Can't we at least have Ed and Al in there? They're the main characters!

I guess it's no big deal, but still. Annoying.

There was an anime club meeting yesterday, but we did mostly a discussion meeting again, watching a few anime afterward. I managed to get them to put on the first episode of FMA, which went over very well.

So, probably next meeting, we'll watch episode two. Excellent.
silverthunder: (Default)
Work sucked last night. Evil place. Ross was doing repairs, so the boiler had to be on and it was baking in there. I seriously had sweat plastering my shirt to my body. It was really gross.

Ah well. It's over.

Anime club meeting today! I'm bringing my FMA DVDs in hopes that we might watch an episode. It's unlikely, but you never know.

Speaking of FMA... volume seven of the manga is scanlated! I downloaded and read that last night. I actually rather like Greed. Haven't seen much of him in the anime yet.

I suspect that will change, though.

I also caved and watched the fourth opening sequence on the episodes I've downloaded to watch after I finish with my DVDs. I like it very much. Awesome-ness, I say.
