Someone asked for the prayer Kurapika is muttering in episode 58 on [livejournal.com profile] hunterxhunter and got a reply with the translation. It's pretty. So I'll post it here too. Why not?

Now, on a completely unrelated note, someone tell me when Majic from Orphen joined the Genei Ryodan.

I watched the last episode of the Hunter X Hunter TV Series earlier today. As usual, I have some thoughts, and since I was at work and had a little time, I decided to organize them. So, here are my thoughts on the series.

Hunter X Hunter: My Comments )

On a completely unrelated note, does anyone know of any good songs that express a love/hate kind of thing?
silverthunder: (Kurapika - My fandom has stripping)
McCleaners today. Bleh. Oh well... BC Network gave me a paycheck yesterday, which is never a bad thing. I get paid at McCleaners this weekend, too.

Money... Money is good.

I've watched up to episode 48 in Hunter X Hunter thus far. Kurapika! I love him, even though episode 45 seemed to have heaps of symbolism that I just wasn't getting. Adding scenes of him naked and trussed up with chains was just a *blatant* fanservice, and not subtle at all. He looks like a girl, too.

Ah well. He is awesome all the same. Especially when fighting people with his chains. Hee.

It really doesn't take much to make me happy.

Also, Gon and Killua at Gon's house were too cute. Not that Gon and Killua aren't always too cute, but still. I'm waiting to see Leorio again... He is way too neglected.
silverthunder: (Sharla - Gaze)
Work sucked last night, but it looks like I'll be able to be on the radio next week... or at least sit in on the session. It'll be fun.

Since I was kind of bored at work, I wrote out more of those little random snippets for Hunter X Hunter. Anyone who has a couple of minutes to waste can check them out here. Some spoilers for up to episode 36, just in case anyone on my friends list is in the process of watching the anime and hasn't said anything about it.

I just watched episode 40. Haha, Wing is training monster-boys. I love Wing. I loved him in the manga too, but I love him more in the anime. And we got glimpses of Kurapika and Leorio! Just glimpses, but still! I liked the shots of Leorio being all studious. He's awesome. And poor Kurapika needs to train more or he'll never get a job.

Anyway, that made me happy. Not that it's not ridiculously easy to make me happy, but still.

I work again tonight, and then I have tomorrow off. Yay!
silverthunder: (Kurapika - Victim of fangirls)
Okay, so I have an anime club meeting and then work today. Should be fun. Well, the anime club meeting part will be fun. And I'll make money by working, so it's all good.

I didn't do a lot yesterday. Watched some Hunter X Hunter. I'm right on top of the Kukulu Mountain stuff. Which is the last arc with all four main characters together before they go their separate ways. That makes me sad.

And actually, it's not even all four main characters, because the point is to get to Killua - which means he's not with them.

Awwwwwww.

I randomly came up with some funny stuff last night - that can be found here if anyone's interested. Short and fun. And I love this series.

I also made new icons.
silverthunder: (Leorio and Kurapika)
Just watched episode 25 this morning... I know it seems like I'm going slow, but I need to take time out every so often to chatter at people and check email and... you know... eat? Sleep?

I might just be failing in my duties as a rabid anime fan. But hell, this way I'll have anime to watch for a long time. So it is all good.

I work today from ten to four at the Sa Hali store. It's not a bad shift, and I get a half hour break for lunch, so it is all good. Besides, the work isn't hard and I'll have company. Overall, I think the Sa Hali store might be better to work at than my usual place of employment.

I still haven't worked a 4-9 shift there yet, so I'll have to wait until after Friday before passing judgement.

I'm going to be done with the Hunter exams in a few episodes... I'll be so sad when that's over. Impending separation of the four main characters. I know there's still the rescuing Killua thing to go before they split up, but still. We won't see Kurapika for like ten episodes after. And even longer for Leorio...

At least there will still be Gon and Killua. Cuteness will sustain me.
silverthunder: (Daisuke - YES!)
I knew I'd get there with Hunter X Hunter eventually. Too cute and too fun and too many interesting characters.

Extreme fangirl ravings - proceed with caution )
silverthunder: (Kaoru - Sparkle)
I actually didn't spend as much time with the DVDs yesterday as I suppose I could've... I had plans already anyway, and then ended up chatting for a while. I know the next episode I'll be watching is one that didn't happen in the manga, so I'm looking forward to it.

Fun stuff. I'm such a geek, and I love it.

I got to hang out with Sarah yesterday, which I haven't done in a while. That was fun, and I got to see her new house. Which is NICE. Very nice. I hope I can live in a place that nice when I move out. The area seems to be pretty decent, too.

Not much going on in my life, which is a good thing at the moment, because it gives me more time for DVD viewing. Nothing is better than having a ton of episodes on DVD and a lot of time to watch them whenever you wish.

Also, I have to note that this song is way too cute.
silverthunder: (Daisuke - YES!)
DVDs are here! YES! Hunter X Hunter marathoning time!

CDs are here! FMA! GW! Music!

Downloaded the new FMA movie trailer! SO AWESOME! I want this movie NOW!

I think I'll go bounce around the house for a bit...

Don't you guys hate me? I have a new meme every couple of days. This one came from [livejournal.com profile] catia

Five good things to so )

So I'll be registering today... I have my courses picked out - I'm going to pick out a couple of extras for each semester just in case. But I think these ones will be it, at least for right now.

It'll be nice to have this all over with. Then I can enjoy the rest of my summer without worrying about school.

In other news... Actually, I don't have any other news. Other than the fact that I skimmed through some Hunter X Hunter fanfic to see what kind of stuff is out there and found a number of stories where one of the male characters was a female. Not that I'm not used to this, but usually there's at least two or three characters that this is split up amongst. It's just the one this time. I wonder why they keep picking on him.

Does the series pull a Fruits Basket and have him turn out to be a girl in disguise or something?
silverthunder: (Duo - Heh)
I wasn't tagged for this one - I just wanted to do it. Heh.

Work wasn't *that* bad yesterday. The other girl I was working with got sick, but other than that, things went okay. It's all good, I suppose.

I have an anime club meeting today. That'll be fun. I finally have Uninhabited Planet Survive with normal-sized subtitles that people will be able to read. This is a good thing.

Yesterday was kind of a lazy day, other than work. I read some more Hunter X Hunter manga, chatted online a bit, and basically didn't do a lot.

Three of my CDs arrived in the mail yesterday, though! Gundam Seed Complete Best, and the two .hack//Sign soundtracks. They are very nice.

And I'll end with an Anime Survey )
silverthunder: (Kaoru - Sexy)
Work this morning... I'm at the Sa Hali store, so I can walk. Which is good, because it'll wake me up. I didn't sleep too well last night for whatever reason.

Note to self: if I don't want to end up buying an anime, I should never read the manga for it. Never. This always seems to trigger the 'buy' nerve located somewhere in the section of my brain that is entirely devoted to anime.

Yeah, so I decided to buy Hunter X Hunter on burned DVDs, which cost a grand total of $45 for 62 episodes and three OVAs of eight, eight, and fourteen episodes respectively. It looks like something I might be able to watch with Jeremy, though, so it'll be nice to have. Also, I like having DVDs full of episodes that I can just sit down and binge-watch whenever I get the opportunity.

Yeah, yeah, I'll admit, in a way I was hoping I'd like it enough to want to buy it. The first episode was kind of meh. The main character didn't interest me much, but when we started meeting other characters, it started getting interesting. I've watched five episodes, and read through two volumes of manga. It looks like it'll be entertaining.

Not at obsession level yet. No clues on whether or not I'll get there. We'll find out later, I'd imagine.
silverthunder: (Howard - Proud to be a freak)
Grabbed from [livejournal.com profile] herongale. I'm sure I've done this one before... but I think it has different anime. Ah well.

The Meme )
silverthunder: (Luna - Ehehe)
Made three new icons yesterday... Hehe. It was fun. I think I might be addicted to icons or something. I always have to make more.

Ah well.

I also *did* work on Game Over yesterday, just like I was determined to do. I will work on it again today, too. Because I have said so. Granted, I only got about two pages done yesterday... but still! It's something.

I want to work on Piece of a Legend soon too. That one isn't getting posted until I have it all done, but it's only three chapters from being finished, while Game Over is going to be longer. I don't know how much longer just yet. I need to get a more precise idea of how I'm going to organize the final events. I'll do that when I finish chapter seven, because chapter seven has all the *fun* stuff.

But before that, I must finish chapter six. So there's a ways to go yet.
silverthunder: (Kaoru - Sparkle)
The highlight of yesterday was me getting a page and a half written in Game Over part six. Knowing how long I can usually focus on something when I've got two other, newer projects on the go, this is pretty amazing.

I'll try to do some more today. I've been neglecting the story too much. I think if I'm going to be a writer, I'll need to learn to discipline myself to actually finish things that I start. I still like Game Over; I do want to see it finished. I need to make myself work on it.

Less slacking, in other words.

We'll see how that goes.

It might get easier when I get to part seven. All kinds of interesting stuff will be going on in part seven. Mwaha. Part six, however, is a bit of a turning point, so I need to do it right. That means spending time on it.

So today I was going to start the new job, but as it turns out that was a mistake - today's Victoria Day, so they're not open. It got re-scheduled for Wednesday, since I work at McCleaner's tomorrow.

Still nervous. I really hope I do well.

But I guess I might as well not worry about that now, since I have a couple of days before I start.
silverthunder: (Kaoru - Sexy)
Firstly, I updated Game Over (finally), and so part five is available on Fiction Press here and on my site here. Hope you guys like it, after waiting so long for it!

And, [livejournal.com profile] selurnis tagged me, so here's a meme.

I finished my AMV, and anyone who's interested can download it! The anime is Uninhabited Planet Survive, and the song is "What it Feels like For a Girl (dance remix)" by Madonna. The video is a tribute to the girls of UPS.

I used footage from all over the place in the anime, so watch out for that if you're leary of spoilers. Not that you'll know what's going on or anything, but... well, just in case.

For those who are members at AnimeMusicVideos.org, I have it available here, and for those who aren't, you can get it here.

Either way, if you do decide to watch it, opinions are appreciated. It's my first attempt, so I'm a little nervous - but I'd really like to hear what people think of it.
silverthunder: (Kaoru - You break my brain)
I did go and see Star Wars last night - I figured it was better than hanging around home and trying to keep busy and randomly feeling sad. Prince was a good dog. We had a lot of good times with him. He was very old, and obviously wasn't very comfortable - he's in a better place now.

My sister and her boyfriend are visiting, too... It helped that since she hasn't been home in a while, she was able to handle the news better than the rest of us.

Anyway, Star Wars wasn't great. It had its moments, and of course the effects were awesome, but yeah. The writing was bad, the acting was meh, and the pace was horribly rushed. THIS movie could've been three movies.

My impressions )

I may be exaggerating, but not by very much.

I think my AMV is finished. I need to watch it again and stuff... Might be a while, I don't know. I'll post here when it's ready to be shared.

And, to everyone who replied to my last post with sympathy, thank you. I really appreciate it.
